  1. It'd be hilarious if that did happen since Cane was meant to be a love interest for Phyllis post-Amber, but the character's popularity with Nick kept it from happening, and plans [ultimately] shifted.
  2. Makes me happy to see the William J. Bell years becoming more easily accessible, which shows what a complete creative shïtter the soap has become in comparison.
  3. Mm-hmm; it's just a shame he was not given the proper material more. I agree with all of this! And again, with Michael off-canvas, it would have been the best time to reintroduce Dillon Quartermaine.
  4. I mean, the character could easily go, and the canvas would not suffer, but the actor is definitely the biggest deficit working against the character. Josh Kelly would be a major improvement.
  5. I will never miss him, nor did I miss Cane.
  6. Chad Duell's strength was during his first storylines, and when Michael fully embodied becoming a Quartermaine⏤which is somewhat what I am sensing right now with this current storyline for Rory Gibson. Having seen Duell in The Bay, it's clear the writing was never behind him as Michael throughout multiple regimes. On top of that, continued missed pairings or bad pairings also did not help him at all.
  7. Interview with Victor Webster (ex-Nicholas Alamain), and he admits he'd go back, if asked, for a "handful of episodes"
  8. Interview with Jason Vendryes (Kenny) where he briefly touches on his casting/first day on Beyond the Gates (the conversation begins around the 8:45 time mark).

  12. date: Friday, June 20 | Christopher Dunn, Judy Tate | Anthony Pascarelli Vernon in charge is fire! Love seeing a patriarch get angry when his family is messed with. So Kenny is "different" than he looked when he asked what colour Deadbeat's money was; and this event in a back room? Is it Joey's backroom at the Casino? Douglas appears okay with the plan but is also still harbouring feelings where Joey and Vanessa are concerned. Not Nicole confirming she does not take Ted's flowers home; I know that's got to be a gut punch. Anita! Mama is busy rehearsing while shït is hitting the fan at home; I love that Vernon is trying to protect her so she can focus on the Articulette's reunion concert rehearsals. So, did Deadbeat attack Kenny? That would describe the "blow by blow", and then having a bit of fun? Did Kenny... "attack" Deadbeat in that way? Is this possibly where a potential sexual assault story comes into play? A White man dominating over a Black one? Or am I reading too much into this right now? BROTHER?! Did Deadbeat murder Kenny's brother? Bradley is pushing this Marcel angle, this time via Jacob. I'm just hoping that this does not cause him any harm. Vanessa's sweet derriere? Oh, sweet words; I love Vanessa's anger at Douglas for his continuing gambling and how it got them into this position that they are in. Ted, Nicole is in the same room with you and is trying to keep it on her terms, and you're pushing her too much right now. Nicole is letting her feelings be known: she's trying to get "Nicole" back and not be one-half of "Ted and Nicole". The hurt in her eyes is real. Nicole loves Ted and knows the words to say... but cannot believe them. It's an honest conversation. Well, Jacob is connecting the dots between Joey and Marcel, and now Deadbeat is being wrapped into it with that payoff two years ago. The world is closing in on Elon and Marcel, and it's closing faster and faster. And now Joey is fully involved. Did Douglas just end his marriage without saying he is ending his marriage? But eat her dust? I know that is not the wording they wanted to use, haha! I'm wondering... why did Elon pair Jacob with Marcel? That seems like a "too close to home" situation, given Jacob is in the Dupree circle. Vanessa is sharp; she knows Joey is up to something. Mr Armstrong might actually be in over his head with her, and I love it. Notes: Jason Vendryes (Kenny) is finally the one to maybe bring out the potential in Brandon Claybon (Martin), but I'm still not buying Claybon in the role. Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole) is putting in the work today; she's been putting up a front for such a time, and it's crumbling down again. Clifton Davis (Vernon) is powerful in this episode. He's able to play the lighter moments and the darker ones; a multi-faceted actor of his caliber does not come around these days.
