  1. Steamy AF That would've been too cheesy for me. No music – it made it REAL, and I loved the emptiness of the scene.
  2. date: Wednesday, April 23 | Christopher Dunn, Judy Tate | Steven Williford Nicole, to quote Ms Whoopi in Ghost: "You in danger, gurl!" My girl Ashley is back on the scene; unfortunately, she's with her stick-in-the-mud boyfriend. Damn. GET YOUR SHOES OFF OF MY DAMN COFFEE TABLE! I can appreciate that Dani is turning Chelsea's offer down. It would have been easy for her to slink into the position she was offered; instead, she's forging her own path with Pamela, and I love that. How did Douglas come up with the $50k? You got lucky with that scratch ticket. Dana has lost her ever-loving mind. She's gone off the deep end, and I imagine a white padded cell with no windows in her very near future. The magazine quiz feels very "old school", but with modern-day references. It's a nice little knock to simpler times when magazines had more weight, like a Reader's Digest or even Soap Opera Digest. OH! I love that this triangle has not been dropped; it sounds like the wife is more into Chelsea than the husband is... and that Chelsea is into it, too. I'm very happy and excited that Dani and Pamela are teaming up, but Pamela, you have to cut that fringe a bit or push it off of your eyes. Oh, iconic photoshoot moment! And it's not for a mug shot. I love it. So much fun is being had on this set. I feel it in my bones. Douglas lost? That's got to suck for him. WHY DO PEOPLE SIT ON TABLES?! It's a pet peeve of mine; you've got a whole ass couch and chair to sit in, and you sit your heavy ass on a coffee table where people likely eat?! GET OFF OF IT! Yes, Eva! Go! Call out your psycho mother (if she even is your mother). Call her OUT! About time someone did. Not the ass smack from the wife to Chelsea. WHEW! Get it, Vanessa! Mount your man! This is sexy AF! Derek, GET YOUR DAMN SHOES OFF OF THE BED! This man is uncouth. Imaginary flutes of champagne? Spare me. Eva versus Dana... the battle of the death stare. Who will be the one to lose? My bet is on Dana.
  3. As of right now, I do believe they're seven weeks tape-to-air, which is in line with the standard four-to-six weeks schedule most CBS soaps carry. They probably taped ahead to bank in material, which would allow time to re-shoot (as they did) ahead of airing.
  4. Credits for Wednesday, April 23, 2025: Created by: Frank & Doris Hursley Executive producer: Frank Valentini Head writers: Chris Van Etten, Elizabeth Korte Writers: Emily Culliton, Scott Sickles, Cathy Lepard Director: Gary Tomlin
  5. Writers: Christopher Dunn Judy Tate Director: Steven Williford
  6. It would not surprise me, honestly; I will say the scripts were marginally better during that time. And, as of 2007, both were listed as fi-core status.
  7. It was not "vaguely-worded" as some suggest; it was published, in text, that the Gates was set to premiere in January 2025. FACT. The Hollywood Reporter: CBS Greenlights the First Black Daytime Soap Opera in 35 Years (❝ The network on Monday announced that the series, following the lives of a wealthy Black family in a posh, gated community, will debut in January 2025. The specific time period, launch date and other details will be revealed later. ❞) Variety: CBS Orders Daytime Soap Opera The Gates Under NAACP Content Partnership (❝ The show is slated to debut in January 2025, though an exact date and timeslot will be announced at a later date. ❞) TVLine: New Daytime Soap The Gates Officially Ordered at CBS — When Will It Premiere? (❝ Soaps fans will have even more tasty drama to sink their teeth into: CBS has officially ordered a brand-new daytime series titled The Gates, which is set to premiere January 2025. ❞) If we're going to try and be an endless wealth of information no one asked for, at least do some diligence and present facts. 🙄 There was no assumption; we were told January. FACT.
  8. Keith D. Robinson (and his agency) have revealed his first air date as Ted Richardson is May 15. ray_the_rebel_3616641654758905514.mp4
  9. It stemmed from the episode before, where Anita was playing piano, Naomi walked in, and she got to reminiscing about her time with the Articulettes and how she missed performing and that those days are behind her, and then they shifted to discussing Dani, so Naomi suggested they go to Uptown to uplift Dani and then recruited Dani re: Anita. So yes, Anita was feeling down about that; it was in-text and hinted at via the acting of Tamara Tunie. Kind of baffles me people do not pick up on this and makes me wonder if people are truly paying attention. This isn't the first time something like this has come up in this topic of people missing what happens in-episode.
  10. To me, this Drew is Drew pre-Jason memory mapping because it resembles how Franco acted when he was given Drew's memories, especially re: Kim. It's a mirror shot (to my recollection).
  11. People are never going to be happy and will find reasons to bïtch for the purpose of bïtching. Period. Point blank. And [some] have wanted the soap to fail since its announcement (even coming out of their dark, lifeless corners of the earth to make their unnecessary POVs known). To me, as some have stated, this soap had a blank slate to create THEIR history and THEIR pacing and THEIR style without a precedent of 50+ years of the serial before them. And I think they've done fairly well. To me, it fits in the arena of the American daytime soap opera, but it's done in a new and interesting way.
  12. It makes no sense, but then again, that's what you get when deranged fans think they can write a soap opera (and is proof why they ultimately shouldn't, because they'd tank the damn show).
  13. I agree; buh-bye to the uncreative, stale-ass excuse of a head writer. I am ready for the true fixing⏤which is ten-plus years overdue⏤to begin to happen.
  14. I agree; they absolutely are, and it's a nice refresh from this forum.
  15. It's been confirmed in Illinois since 2015, per the 50th anniversary interview with the cast on Today. 🤷🏻‍♂️ But with Chicago being "nearby" and the oft-mentioned 312 area code, it makes sense for it to be in the state of Illinois versus the Midwest or even New England.
  16. Well, I'm on today's episode. First time since pre-Peacock I've been in this position.
  17. Nope; just that a change was made.
  18. It's almost like they went onto a stock footage archive, said, "We like this," and went with it without a care in the world. Yes, the opening gates would suit the Newman Ranch more (especially with what we've seen of the Newman Ranch exterior), not to mention... it'd fit a location like Wisconsin more than it does Illinois. It does not fit. At all. And they need to fix it.
  19. date: Tuesday, April 22 | Christopher Dunn, Lynn Martin | Phideaux Xavier Love that everyone is kind of in awe of Anita performing at Uptown. It's really cute and shows pride (through support). Vernon is setting Anita up with a talent manager? Hmm. Dana continues to underestimate Eva, who fully understands what is going on and what's going to happen. She's smart, Dana. You did raise a smart lady. Williams? Anita's maiden name revealed? Quite interesting. But this talent manager is laying it on thicker than thick. Anita Williams Live?! Oh, okay then. Why do I have a feeling Bill is about to rip Tomas' backside apart? Oh, this is worse than I thought. He played Naomi. Disgusting. I'm beginning to see: Dani does not know her own identity, and when she isn't falling down blasted three sheets to the wind, it's becoming more apparent. Ted, that new jewellery piece is going to cost you and might end up IN you as a deadly weapon. Well, "Sherry" is back, I see. Mr Price is proposing a "Return to Love" type of situation with Anita, Dani and Naomi, like Diana Ross did with Lynda Laurence and Scherrie Payne. Samantha, honey, turn down the enthusiasm, sweetie. It's a bit try-hard. So Nicole wants Eva at her table? Oh, this is getting messier and messier by the moment. So "Sherry" got Avery fired from his job? Oh, honey, that's a MESS, chile! Anita's terrified about this, and it makes sense. It's also relatable and does remind me a bit of Whitney Houston's return to the spotlight.
  20. The gates for the Kiriakis mansion does not work for me; it's giving countryside or Dallas, Texas, and not Salem, Illinois.

  23. Jada and Stephanie sitting on Stephanie's couch in their Cosmo & Wanda bathrobes is giving me scissor sisters couple.
  24. I'm glad I am not the only one seeing this happen.
