  1. Maurice and Laura watch an episode of GH on the Spotlight channel. It's pretty amusing, he knows nothing about the show, she knows everything. Most of the video is Mo confused and LW commenting how pretty Rebecca Herbst is.

*Mo had no idea that Michael Easton and Roger Howarth each played 3 separate roles on the show. They're watching an episode with the actor who played Mike and at point Mo said "If they can play 3 different roles, why can't Mike come back from the dead?"

*Apparently Chloe Lanier had this "thing" in her scenes where she would attempt to physically touch her co-stars so Laura had to tell her you can't do that to Carly, she wouldn't tolerate it.

*Mo refers to Tamara's Kim as Carly and Laura corrects him and he's just like "Whatever" lmao.

Yep. And it still hasn't been fixed. They're blaming logistics and claiming it will take time, which I don't buy.

Trust me, they're haranguing the developers to find the files where everything was credited correctly and figure how to incorporate them into the new app database or something.

The fact that Max is a whole new app you have to download is further proof that this rollout is an utter mess.

Allegedly, it was a push from up top (Zaslav) to try to blur the lines on content.

As a "Tech Person" I chafe at this being blamed on tech people, this sounds absolutely like top brass not wanting to properly accredit creatives.

Improper accreditation impacts your ability to secure future work or be properly recognized for existing work. This is a bit of real nastiness from Warner Bros.

It really is like the show gets off on making everyone genuflect to Carly at this point. It didn't used to be this bad. They must think the FB audience needs Carly to always be the heroine.

The show’s gone from Carly, Sonny and Jason winning all of the time to straight almost universal reverence. The only people allowed to dislike them are villainous like Nina and Tracy or clearly “misguided” like Joss and Michael.

Carly and Joss scenes are them just parroting each other. It would be comical if you didn’t know the writers were dead serious.

    Carly: Nina!

    Joss: NINA!!!!

    Carly: Awful!!

    Joss: AWFULLLL!!!$$$(;57’

Drew sucks. He is spoiling this Quartermaine story. Not even the great Jane Eliot could save him today. It is Ryan Lavery whining 2.0. It suck Pine Valley. I hope it does not sink Port Charles.

He's so self-righteous. I hate CamMat's acting when he gets to yell at someone.

"But ya did Ned, YA DID!"

Willow's "on the brink of death" countdown enters month 87th.

No but seriously she was in desperate need of the bone marrow transplant 2 months ago when Liesl was kidnapped. Just die already.

Olivia is a horrible spouse. If your husband is emphatically denying something as much as Ned and you don't believe him? Why even stay married to someone you think so little of? The way she genuflected to Carly the other day was pretty disgusting too. Carly, who will absolutely NOT apologize to Ned as much as she should when this comes out.

I wonder if Josh Griffith is going for a "Cape Fear" type of storyline where Cameron, fresh out of prison, pretends to be someone else so he can get close to and seduce Faith.

That's what I would do. The problem is that knowing him they'll wrap the story up in 3 weeks. Look at how quickly people found out Phyllis was alive.

Exactly.  JFP's biggest success as a producer was at GL.  Yet, even there, for about half of her regime, she coasted on what her predecessor, Robert Calhoun, had set up for her.  Once those pieces were gone, it all turned to crap rather quickly.

Her trick was getting viewers to tune in with the threat of "I'm about to ruin the thing you like! You better waaaaatch!"

And The Young and the Restless suffers from no over-night crew, so a lot of the sets are permanently up. Getting the GCAC was a major win.

There are so many actors they could release that would more than afford them an overnight crew. Ridiculous.

I didn't like BW as AJ, but I think he did a good job with the material he was given.  He never felt like AJ to me.  I always thought SK was pretty good in the part.  He's my AJ, but that probably also correlates to the fact he was my first AJ.

I do see the argument that SK's AJ wasn't very sympathetic though.  I do think he nailed the overall character of AJ.

I'm in the same boat, Billy was my AJ and I hated the hypocrisy of Sonny, Jason, Carly and their sycophants so much that I had to love him. Luckily I've grown past that and simply being in opposition to one of those three doesn't make me a fan. See: Nina.

@Khan Billy's height never bothered me, though I think his stature absolutely influenced the writing (despite the fact that he and Mo see eye to eye) it always felt so...petty. But what can I expect from Elton John meets Jean Randolph.

  9. 29 minutes ago, Liberty City said:

Re-watching clips, Billy Warlock was amazing as AJ. If anything, bring him back as AJ, bring back Robert Adamson as Michael and you've got casting GOLD!

Bring it on! Billy would have to keep the gray he currently has though because he still looks incredibly youthful, they could be mistaken for brothers.

    1 hour ago, Vee said:

I always thought Billy was great, but when Sean Kanan came back he owned the part again in a very different way.

With a headwriter who didn't have some weird personal grudge against him Sean could have turned AJ into a character with prominence. Give him a real win or two against Jason and Sonny, people who had his back with no conditions, a love that didn't drop him or run to the other side as soon as he made an error in judgment. You know, all those things the two thugs get all the time.

But they didn't want to put in the work because there's some bizarreness on this show about AJ.

Instead of double-doors going outdoors, it is replaced with an opening to the kitchen, I believe?

I feel like [some] sets didn't move across the country and were practically re-built for the west coast production. The Chandler mansion did change a bit. NGL, I do wish the HD production at All My Children had moved to General Hospital.

Ah, thank you @Liberty City! This makes my AMC loving heart happy.

I wish Y&R could've benefitted from the cancellation of CBS soaps the way GH did. Maybe there would be more than 5 sets.

Have Alexis, Sam and Molly always interchanged Christina’s name with the shorter Chrissy they’ve called her the past couple of episodes? Or has that coincided with the recast?

They've called her that a few times over the years but never as repeatedly as they did yesterday. Oh god are they gonna start called the Molly recast "Molls"?

I did not know Wildwind was on the show. That's, uh, wild.

It is funny as hell to me that Sonny's once-majestic penthouse set is now a fraction of the size of Laura's penthouse and pretty tiny. It's just a couch, some busts and no other room, AFAIK.

Sonny's penthouse literally looks like a waiting room at a stuff therapist's office. Actually I'm pretty sure that Sonny's office set is bigger than his living room now.

And her house is WILDWIND? Where? Someone tell me exactly what. This is so fascinating. There's a lot of Pine Valley on the show apparently, where is all the Llanview? I suppose that could be because shipping the One Life sets to LA wasn't cost effective.

  12. 3 minutes ago, Vee said:

No, I'm referring to the one he just showed lol. It had the checkerboard foyer next to that living room and I believe it was more yellow and bright at one point, which I liked.

This is the one, yes. It's not as bright as I remember the color scheme getting in this shot.

Oh my bad. I remember you telling me it was that one now. I think I was foisting my own feelings about it (idunlikeit) on you!

Billy Warlock (ex AJ Quartermaine) gives his fair share of tea of his stints on DAYS, Baywatch and GH

BTW: He talks about how he knew himself he wasn't the right fit for AJ before the audition.

If you ask ME Steve Burton and Sean Kanan were wrong for the parts (they just had the right look for the early 90s) of Jason and AJ, Billy was perfect. I'll die on this hill

What happened to Sharon Case's nose?

And why does Linden Ashby look like a roadie?

Her acting and face are...let me not say anything more, I want to be kind today.

And based on the lighting and direction in that scene they have zero clue what to do with him other than having everyone run around town wringing their hands whispering "Cameron Kristen is back". They're shooting their wad on yet another story that could have juiced their ratings and given fan-favorite Sharon something to do that didn't involve being a millionaire psychiatrist pouring coffee everyday.

  15. @Khan I wish JFP had settled on whether her focus would be destroying the sets or the characters. No, she decided it would be best to destroy both simultaneously across all the shows she managed.

I'm serious, I'd really to know what her fetish was for hacking at sets. WHY do you want to blow up GH? WHY is getting Victor into a penthouse a priority for you? Her whole MO across all of the shows she produced was to demolish some place or some one or some couple long established. And I think that's because she had a hard time building anything of her own that wasn't standing on the necks of what had already been proven successful.

It was Jax's home, rented it out to Brook Lynn after he left town, and then it was sold to Curtis & Portia. The set was previously used on All My Children for David Hayward and later Michael Nouri's Caleb.

    This one?

    Jax%2C_Torosyan%2C_and_Carly_%282017%29.webp

Or the one they had before?

Anna also has the re-re-remodeled Chandler mansion. It works much better for than it did Adam.

And I think he's referring to this house which somehow doesn't have a page on GH's wiki but is listed hereJacks House (607 Braidwood Terrace) - Former residence of Morgan Corinthos, Carly Spencer, Jasper Jacks, and Michael Corinthos

No mangling will ever beat what Y&R did to the Chancellor estate. Completely rearranged the layout, repainted the walls, the camera angle was different. It was hardly the same location. And they did it for no good reason, simple because they could.

  17. They're going to botch this so bad. So so SO bad. And there's so much potential. He's been off the canvas for 20 years. They can do quite literally anything with him, this evil character with a dark past and psychotic obsession with a long-standing heroine.

But I bet you anything he'll be dead in some "oops we murdered someone else!" plot within 6 months.

  18. But so much of daytime is about familiarity. Changing a set that drastically should happen gradually, it could have even been a story point.

There has to be a balance between the Abbott living room on Y&R remaining virtual unchanged in 40 years (you can breathe in the dust mites through the TV screen) and the Quartermaines suddenly living in an Ashley Furniture showroom.

They've also, similar to what @Vee said, stripped these residences of their ability to tell us more about these characters beyond "they live here".

Just so this isn't totally negative I think my favorite current home set is Portia and Curtis', I know it was previous Jax's and someone else's idk but I like it a lot. It's got a good use of space and the entryways to the back area/kitchen are different than typical soap sets. I also like the African prints they have draped over some of the furniture because I gotta be honest, affluent black people do love their African prints.
