Maybe I'm reading too much into it but Larry Hagman and Victoria Principal are never in the same shot in this scene. It's especially glaring since the next scene has him and that actress sharing a shot, which looks much more like traditional mid-80s blocking.

Donna Reed gave her all at the end there and at various points throughout this season, including the big scene where she takes down Jock's portrait. But she still always felt pretty off to me - far too buttoned up, cool and removed, a stylish tourist. Which is not to say the great Barbara Bel Geddes was not at times reduced to a collection of vague tics and misty looks herself; I remember some of those alleged bitchy quotes in Reed's letters about Bel Geddes after being fired: 'An old brown wren who blinks a lot.' She had a point!

I've only read about the casting on Donna Reed as Miss Ellie but it's always reminded me of Lee Meriwether taking over as Ruth Martin from Mary Fickett. This perfectly lovely motherly looking woman suddenly played by a glamourpuss.

These scenes from Feb 2023 sold me on AH

Still some of the best stuff I've seen on daytime in YEARS.

Acting out the denouement of a story two years in the making is a heavy lift and he pulled it off.

His "final" confrontation with Ava is pretty great too.

When I do things like this is it surprising when people don't believe me? You're serious? Okay. Hell yeah. It is incredibly stupid not to believe someone because they post simple information that someone might not  know, when OOPS, they did know it! OMG! How could they have posted that?!! Uh, dude, it's called communication. So sorry, kind sir, to tell you something that you knew. Please forgive my humanity.

Let me be clear. If people do not wish to believe me, that is their thing & they are entitled to it. It is no skin off my back. Their loss. Now move along. Nothing to see here. I'm listening to China Beach

    But, have a nice night.

    You seem upset.

Lauralee Bell celebrates 40 years - I hope this isn't all they're doing!

All this show has going for it is celebrating someone's anniversary every 3 months so let's hope!

    The New Molly is 39

She looks great but that is nuts.

I wonder if the show would be as invested in this dud of a storyline if the strike wasn't happening. Three recasts in hard for stories we care about, much less ones that have barely begun and are surrounding yet *another* pregnancy.

  6. Why is it hard to believe that fans in 1999 wouldn't remember BM's Iris? Soap fans, as every thread on this board can attest, have a loooong memory and it's not like 20 years at the bottom of the ratings had garnered AW some new influx of viewers.

Why doesn't Carly just ask Jax or Sonny for a loan?  I obviously don't expect her to get a job like a real person, but if she doesn't want to take money from Sonny I am sure Jax would help.  Someone pays for Joss's college and apartment she is getting off campus so I assume it's Jax.

That's why this is so empty for me. She's got a number of people she can ask for help. And it's not like the government expects the fine in one lump sum, she's not going to be destitute.

She's going from ultra wealthy to just wealthy. Poor dumb Caroline. Cry for her!

  8. Yeah, I agree @titan1978, Jessie and Angie are a package deal, you absolutely can't break them up and they have to be a central couple on the show and as much as I hate basically all of the couples on this show you can't just bring them on as a tentpole couple. And it would be a disservice to them, the show and their legacy to do anything but.

Can you imagine AMC or OLTL bringing on Sonny and Carly or Jason and Sam and thrusting positioning them as central couples? Oh I would have been furious.

But man, imagine a soap on air with Debbie and Darnell still killing it...

@Liberty City I want David minus the back from the dead magic he had at the end there. I want him to come to town to work on a special case. Maybe Valentin needs a heart transplant so David and Anna are forced to interact. Valentin will, of course, fail to get this transplant and die so I never have to see him again.

David needs an adversary on the hospital staff and no, it can't be Finn or Austin unless his presence prompts the writers to give either of those losers a purpose beyond Easton and Howarth's mortgage payments. Portia is too ill-defined a character for me to imagine how she'd respond to him. And no, his adversary can't be one of the utterly boring Good Guys on this show like Drew or Dante or Curtis. They have to be a doctor and they have to have some UUMPH.

God, coming up with purpose for David on this is far more fun than talking about it.

Curtis. It's so curtis. But yes, like @Darn, it should say "DIES".

Curtis?? Good lord who cares. Whenever a "heroic" man gets shot on this show he just brushes it off. No point in watching all that handwringing that will amount to nothing!

Sigh another week of Brook Kerr doing the heavylifting for this coma-inducing couple.

I loved Felicia & Mac together, in their playful ways, with James!  And the Pine Valley mention was awesome.  Missed hearing those two words; hopefully, Mac remembers his visits to Pine Valley, and isn't mindless and goes, "Oh! I've heard of that place before. Never been!"

Now I patiently wait for them to ask Anna about the years she lived there.

Seeing Mac & Felicia with their grandson today was so adorable.  That coupling is as cute & sweet as ever.  I love that (Tad) Martin has links to Pine Valley.  I hope they do have Erica Kane, Dixie Cooney and Brooke English show up as all 3 of his ex's. 😂  Please, no Liza Colby or those Fusion hussies.

The highlights of the day. Mac and Felicia and their grandkid was very cute, though Maxie calling Mac is STUPID and needs to stop. He's spent more years in her life than either of her parents. And her kids call him grandpa!

It was nice to hear the words Pine Valley again but I know it's gonna be dumb so that takes the wind out of my sails.

You know the reception Tracy gets from everyone? That's the reception Carly should get. That's what she used to get when they understood her character even a little bit. Now she's still argumentative and unpleasant except the entire town has been browbeat into finding this endearing.

Y&R and B&B had great subtle humor which works for the type of shows they are, but to me Passions is always gonna be more of a soap opera “Dramedy” more then any other show, besides Days which is up their with the “Dramedy” aspect imo.

It's a shame 80% of Passions jokes were about assault or incest. Or literal hell. And this show was marketed to the youths.
