  5. This is what Tabyana Ali (the new Trina) said in SOD about her scenes at the police station March 28: “I definitely wanted to play it as a vulnerable moment, but still a fighting moment.”
  6. Re: that tweet. Janet Hubert deleted her original tweet and instagram post (but a copy remains as quoted). Then she tweeted this: And Janet also posted this instagram video https://www.instagram.com/p/CbsWZrhjENv/
  7. in the Friday 3/25 eppy, Sonny told Chad he had brought Will and Ari to the airport. Will had to work on a story for his boss back in Phoenix. Sonny remained in Salem.
  8. Here's the link to Will Smith's instagram apology post https://www.instagram.com/p/CbqmaY1p7Pz/
  9. While you were replying to me, I edited my post to add more clarification. I inserted these words into my post: HOWEVER, I don't like slaps, even minor ones, not even on soaps. And I would have preferred that this not happen. There's no way that celebrities at future events will be able to make the distinction between a minor slap and a punch. None of it should happen.
  10. What Will Smith did was tacky for national television but not evil. He didn't punch Chris Rock with the intent to knock him down. He gave him a soap slap. You know the type of slap a soap character gives another when insulted, but actually less vehement. This was not Carrie Brady punching Sami Brady at the wedding, to the point of knocking her down. This was more like when Marlena slapped Sami for insulting her. Again, it's tacky to slap someone and use the F word on national TV. But no real harm was done. HOWEVER, I don't like slaps, even minor ones, not even on soaps. And I would have preferred that this not happen. There's no way that celebrities at future events will be able to make the distinction between a minor slap and a punch. None of it should happen. I am a feminist, and I would have preferred that Jada handle the situation herself. Maybe her choice would be to make her own statement the next day. Will stepping in on her behalf was (in his mind) intended to be gallant, but it didn't give her the opportunity to decide for herself. That's the main thing that bothered me. I do see the point of not wanting to set a precedent of this being acceptable behavior for future events.
  11. Thanks. I should have looked that up before posting that tweet.
  12. Casey Kasprzyck didn't say the twist would happen on the 35th. He promoted both things as separate things. He did say originally that the twist would be around the end of March. My guess is that the Feb 24 preemption and the March 24 preemption pushed the twist to early April.
  13. Here's a bit of Samuel L. Jackson receiving his honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards March 26
  14. I agree the twitter / fan awards were stupid. They had no place at the Oscars. Elaine May, Samuel L. Jackson, Liv Ullman, and Danny Glover received their honorary awards in a separate ceremony the day before. Those particular awards are given at the Academy's Governors Awards which has been held on a separate night for a long time. Usually they are a couple months apart from the regular Oscar night. This year, the Governors Awards ceremony was the night before the regular Oscars. Do they usually show a piece of that on the main Oscar night? Was that cut this year? I'm not familiar with all the details. Here is a full article detailing the Academy's Governors Awards held March 26 https://www.theguardian.com/film/2022/mar/26/oscars-samuel-l-jackson-and-elaine-may-honorary-governors-awards A few pics from Ava DuVernay who was at the Governors Awards:
  15. deleted
  16. It was not staged. It was completely unexpected. As already posted twice in this thread, Ramin Setoodeh, the editor of Variety, tweeted this:
  17. Will Packer produced the Oscars this year.
  18. Will's full acceptance speech. (with occasional glimpses of Serena and Venus watching) Great speech!
  19. Yeah i did a google image search. That pic of Will and Chris is from the world premiere of "The Matrix" Wednesday, March 24, 1999, in the Westwood section of Los Angeles.
  20. (tweets from the editor of Variety)
  21. comparing with screenshot of NLG from 3/24/2022 eppy.
