Adding onto my prior post about all the random stuff JG was writing for the 50th anniv and the year following that (March 2023 - March 2024 and continuing) ... I forgot to mention the Cricket/Danny/Phyllis "triangle" which JG seemed to think was a flashback to years ago, but it's NOT. The past few months with them were written so badly!

This not directed at anyone in particular. I'm simply making a general response to the past few months of threads. This has come up again recently but I'm responding to the overall discussions by many posters. I don't understand why there is a discussion of what twitter accounts like/dislike. Really, I don't. I prefer reading discussions when any poster here says what they themself likes/dislikes. Furthermore I personally feel uncomfortable reading here when there are posts referring to anyone who prefers a character or pairing as a stan or rabid fan, or referring to anyone who dislikes a character or pairing as a "hater". Speaking only for myself, I have likes and dislikes but I'm not a stan or a hater. But I hesitate to post my thoughts when likes/dislikes are categorized as stanning or hating. I'll post my thoughts for now... hopefully they'll be read as simply my thoughts. I really like Elizabeth, and I want her to get more story (without Finn or Violet). I really like Trina and I want her to get more story! But I'm not "rabid" about either character. I simply like who I like. I really liked the Sprina pairing and was disappointed when NAC left, but I understand that's life. I very much dislike Jason no matter how he is written. (I might have been interested if he were to regain his Quartermaine memories -- but of course I realize that will never happen). I never liked Carly. I disliked Carly for years; but now I watch old clips of Sarah Joy Brown and appreciate the acting she put into the character. I don't like Carly/Jason at all. Laura Wright's Carly isn't interesting to me. I don't hate the actress. I think she tries. I'm just disinterested in the character overall. However I really loved what Laura Wright did during the Bobbie Memorial episodes. One thing I always hated was the overfocus on Carly/Jason/Sonny. It seems apparent that GH management thinks those three *are* the show, but I disagree. One other thing. I do sincerely believe that some of the Black characters are not written for properly. I do think Trina's point of view is shown less than Josslyn's point of view. I don't think that makes me a fanatical Trina stan. It just makes me a viewer who wants to see more of Trina's point of view. We'll see what *might* possible develop later on with Trina and the new Gio character. I was a fan of old-school Anna Devane, but I'm not sure what the show is doing with her now? Seems like they're just throwing things out there to see what sticks. Jane Elliot is the queen.

Fyi regarding what I posted about zoom settings on browser, I now remember that this was an issue *unrelated* to the ig issue. When someone/anyone posted an image (just an image, not a social media post), the image would spill outside the message box in the view of my browser, if I had my browser zoom settings higher than 100%, but it would magically fix itself if I returned my browser to normal 100% zoom display. So that was an image issue and not an instagram issue.

Sometimes (unrelated to this SON site) I increase my browser zoom to greater than 100%, for example to see fine print or a small photo, etc. If I leave my browser that way, then instagrams on SON display as you described above. But when I readjust my browser to 100% zoom, the instagram posts display properly for me. Edit: Well I just did a test to see if I remembered the situation correctly. I tried zooming in and then viewed some embedded instagrams here on SON -- but that's not the issue today. But I think it happened that way in the past? All I can say is that it was happening for me as you described (sometimes) and I must have found a fix because it's not an issue today. Sorry I'm not much help, LOL. (Edit later -- I remember now that this was my issue when viewing regular images if my browser was set to high zoom, but not relevant to this discussion of instagram spillover)

Ah so that explains why the story randomly changed from Tucker to someone else, LOL. I've seen multiple speculations all over the internet -- behind spoiler tag until everyone is caught up watching

Seems like Josh Griffith got into this mode for the 50th anniversary of Y&R (from March 2023 - March 2024) that he'd bring back old storylines, but didn't know exactly what to do. So he got some suggestions ... Bryton James suggested that Michael Graziadei come back. Bryton also suggested that Devon's biological mother Yolanda/Harmony do a return visit. I forget the details but I remember reading an article about JG literally wondering what else he could do and someone mentioned to him the original Eve Howard, which JG didn't know about... so he wrote Colleen Zenk as Eve's sister. I think that must have come about around the time of the Y&R fan club weekend in August 2023 when J.Eddie Peck showed up at the "past cast" day. I think Zenk said she got the call in early August. It seems like the entire Aunt Jordan thing was thrown together (in my opinion). Presumbably JG learned hat Susan Walters' husband Linden Ashby had played Cameron Kirsten... so he said Let's revisit Sharon&Nick with Cameron Kirsten! Let's do that, oh but wait, Linden's available for only a few days/weeks between his other projects, well then we'll just do a fast scary arc. (thrown together). And also rehashing old stuff. When JG was at DAYS, he wrote the Bicentennial Gala for Salem for the 50th anniversary of Days of our Lives in November 2015 ... (despite there having already been a bicentennial on DAYS quite a few years before LOL.) So of course in March 2023 JG wrote a Bicentennial Gala for Genoa City for the 50th anniv of Y&R. So I'll just speculate/wonder if the current Alan/Martin storyline came about if somebody/anyone (? ? ?) told JG about Ashley's old storyline with Rick/Blade? Let's revisit another old Y&R storyline! And with the orginal Rick/Blade actor Michael Tylo having died a few years ago, then JG looked for another actor. (And now that I know that JG was at OLTL when Cousins was there, yeah that must be it). Or JG just thought about old storylines in various places he'd written and tried to find something that connected to a Y&R character, such as Ashley?

Oh I hadn't put that together. When Christopher Cousins was originally announced in April to debut as Alan Laurent, I looked up his prior roles on other shows. So that detail about what he did as Cain Rogan and aliases on OLTL made me think "oh this actor has done subterfuge roles in the past, I wonder if he's doing a subterfuge role this time, too?" and then in fact, he did. But I didn't realize that Josh Griffith had been part of the writing team that had written the Cain Rogan storyline on OLTL. So thanks for pointing that out.
