The last episode of the year! Too bad it was a little… ehhh. I see Amy was channeling her inner Tom Horton today. I almost expected her to say that Tate and Sophia needed to get married in order to avoid a scandal, and to give the baby a name. Idk about this part of the storyline though. I don’t dislike it, but it just seems so dated and unnecessary. There are so many other ways they could have caused conflict with the younger crowd until the inevitable pregnancy happened. Not only would have been better than this but also would have seemed more current. Maybe I’m wrong but I think all Tate needed to do was to tell Amy to go f*ck herself, and then take Sophia to get the abortion anyway. 😂 And I think it’s also time for Tate to meet Doug III, who seemed to shine with Holly again today. They have nice chemistry. But I would’ve liked to have seen him and Tate have a rivalry first before all of this happened. As for Doug III’s line, “You can’t be alone when the ball drops. It’s bad luck”… Not to get too personal but I think that might be true 😂😂😂 Btw, we all know that Brady’s not the sharpest crayon in the box, but you think he would’ve realized that his little demon spawn was probably the one sending the texts after Ava told him where they were coming from. And yeah, Paulina’s still a lousy Mayor. Can EJ sue, like Rafe can? Which still would have been a much better way to cause conflict for Rafe/Jada than Fake Rafe 2.0. They’re getting it right with Shawn/Belle; they could’ve also gotten it right with Rafe/Jada too.- GH: December 2024 Discussion Thread

Damn… Tate was pathetic lol He couldn’t even bring himself to say the words to Holly. And was still more concerned with his relationship with her than the abortion. I wonder who’s gonna win if we end up getting Tate vs. Doug III. Honestly, I didn’t dislike the way Tate was written, but that was not a good look for him. Not at all. Sophia definitely had bigger balls today 😂😂 Speaking of Sophia, I’m glad that they finally cast her mother, even though Amy seems a little cliche and sounds like she stepped out of the 1970s. I think it’ll help us see why Sophia is the way that she is and if it leads to Sophia getting more depth and more layers, I’m all for it. I really liked the Shawn/Belle scenes though. It was one of the best parts of today. I like the situation that they’re in and I hope they play the long game with the two of them, especially now that they’re going to be working together. Belle as DA could be really interesting too. EJ vs. Paulina would be a lot better if that was the thing that was used to cause conflict for Johnny and Chanel. As for Rafe and Fake Rafe… Skip. It was the cruelty of it that I hated more than anything. Ron let his worst qualities as a human being write that story for him. Then, you add in Jamey Giddens, who just makes everything ten times worse and that was the mess we got. Hopefully that, along with Body&Soul, contributed to his firing.- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos

@Maxim Sven was a conman who forced Mac and Rachel’s maid, Helga, to convince them to hire him. He wanted to get in his hands on Mac’s money. To do this, he ended up drugging Helga’s daughter Regine, and Mac and put them in bed together. When Regine found out she was pregnant (by her boyfriend) everyone thought Mac was the father and he planned to divorce Rachel and marry Regine. When the plan was exposed, he killed Rocky, the stable man and kidnapped Rachel. Eventually, he was caught and sent to prison. That’s the bare bones of it, but from what I hear, it was much more layered than that. Harding Lemay wrote it. He ended up hating the storyline though, but I’m pretty sure it was the last time that AW hit #1 in the ratings.- DAYS: December 2024 Discussion Thread

That current era (1995-1996) It seemed somewhat darker and more gothic. And they tried to do that thing with Tomas and the vampires not long after Marlena’s possession ended. But I will say that, from watching the early 1995 episodes of AW, I believe the mandate to make it more like Days came down before Jill Farren Phelps got there- Another World Discussion Thread
My first experience with AW was in 1996. But I was 3 going on 4 so idk if that really counts. That year, it was first written by Tom King&Craig Carlson. And then by Margaret DePriest again. It was also a time that the network was really trying to turn AW into a Days clone. I got back into it when it first started being shown on SoapNet in 2003. The first episode I saw was MJ watching her hooker tape 😂 I remember liking most of it, but at the same time, I didn’t have much to compare it with. But I also remember thinking that it was weird that the Michael/Donna/John triangle was dropped so suddenly.- DAYS: December 2024 Discussion Thread

Well, Emma sure has changed since the last time we saw her… and I’m here for it! I enjoyed the scenes between Emma and Anna. The actress seemed to have good chemistry with FH as well. And hopefully Emma continues to have this animosity towards Joss too. I’m still not sure about Kai and Trina though. I don’t dislike the storyline, the potential pairing or the actor but he just comes off like such a mush sometimes. I mean, that could be on the writing but I just don’t know. As for Valentin and Charlotte… Skip.- DAYS: December 2024 Discussion Thread
