GH: January 2024 Discussion Thread
Yeah, the bias was on display yesterday but I enjoyed the episode. Btw, contrary to what GH is forcing down our throats right now, reporting a crime is not worse than the actual crime itself I agree about Laura Wright. She did a great job. As awful as Carly can be, I feel that LW is still able to make her sympathetic in some ways and I like that. Eden McCoy should take lessons from her 😂😂 And yeah, Michael and Willow just need to get knocked out. The obvious story here is for Willow to defend Nina, but we all know that isn’t happening. Their scenes on the dock were stupid af. And I really did like the scenes of Laura/ Kevin/Scott/Lucy absorbing the news of Bobbie’s death. They were acted really well. I hope we get more scenes like that as the show pays tribute to Bobbie/JZ

DAYS: Steve & the Pawn
Yeah… if this is true, this is a total retcon. Steve never took the Pawn out of Salem. Hell, the only reason Steve kept him at his apartment was so that he could move up in Victor’s organization.

DAYS: Actor Exiting!
I imagine that this also frees up a decent amount of money in the Days budget. Maybe we’ll get some returns lol

DAYS: Actor Exiting!
I did like the character of Harris but I did have a feeling that this may happen. Steve Burton was pretty much forced on the show by the fired guy and in some ways, it’s like they never really knew what to do with the character. I just wonder how GH is going to explain Jason’s new tattoo sleeve 😂

Ughhh Leo I wish somebody would slip him some tainted drugs. Except for him, it was another good episode. I liked the sense of community that today had. Instead of people being stuck in their own story bubbles, we really got the sense that everybody knew each other as they reacted to the news about Holly. That’s really been missing lately. I always like the Eric/Nicole/Holly scenes. The three of them are good together and I really like the relationship that they have. And considering the look on Marlena’s face when she saw Eric and Nicole hugging, I hope she continues to play a part in this storyline as well. But at the same time, I think it’s time for Holly to find out the truth about her father’s death. That would be such a good storyline and could have a huge effect on so many characters. If it were me, I’d have EJ somehow reveal it once the truth about the baby comes out and Eric and Nicole reunite. As for Chad and Everett, I don’t mind their storyline right now but it seemed to come out of nowhere. The last time we saw them, Chad practically hated Everett and now he has respect for him as a journalist? They needed to establish that a little better. Maybe we should have seen Chad and Everett working together at the paper before all this started. I did really enjoy the Chad/Julie scene and the conversation they had too, even though I have mixed feelings about Chad and the kids moving back into the Horton house. Like bro, take care of your own kids 😂😂😂

GH: January 2024 Discussion Thread
Michael’s such a wimp. Just gotta put that out there lol but I am looking forward to tomorrow. That was a good cliffhanger. And I’m also looking forward to everything regarding Bobbie tomorrow. And it was good seeing Lindsay Hartley as Sam again. She just seems a lot less moody as Sam, similar to how Eric on Days was when Jason Gerhardt subbed. And I agree with what @John says about Lois and Olivia. An Italian wife wouldn’t turn on their husband like that 😂😂 @Toups, I think the credits aired today.

A lot of stupid people in today’s episode, but their stupid actions made sense considering what they’re going through. The acting was pretty good all around, for the most part. Jamie Martin Mann is still really standing out to me. I hope they continue to use him/Tate effectively. Btw, what was that little angry spasm that EJ did at the coffee pot? On the other hand, Tripp was the smartest person today lol I’m glad that he put everything together about Ava. Still not sure about him being a secondary character in that storyline. There are better ways for them to cause problems for him and Wendy. And, we got an update about John’s dad. Glad he’s doing well 😂😂 Overall, today wasn’t the best episode. It seems there is a writer on the scab team that isn’t as good as the rest. But at the same time, I’m really enjoying the change in style that each script has. It was well passed the time for a change and I’m glad that we finally got one.

DAYS: January 2024 Discussion Thread
Happy New Year y’all 🎉🎉🎊 One thing I really liked about today was the change in style. Today just felt so different then what we’ve gotten used to after so long and I enjoyed that. Everything was taken seriously, instead of being treated like some big joke or a soap opera parody. And the episodes itself, and the characters reactions, seemed a lot more realistic. I really hope people BTS are taking notice of this. Tate seemed a little stupid today, but again, it just seemed so realistic. Fear makes people do stupid things. And I thought the actor did pretty well today too. He finally got a chance to flex his acting muscles and I was impressed. I enjoyed Abe/Paulina and the way it was written as well. Jackee, in particular, really stood out to me and I honestly think this was one of the best performances she’s given since she’s been on Days. It seemed so in character for Paulina, but at the same time, it wasn’t over the top and silly. And I actually smiled when Abe said he loved her and was sticking by her no matter what lol Good way to start the new year. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s episode.
