Tylo is both lol but also loathes what the show has become. It’s probably for the best.

1996 was a pretty traumatic year for B&B and both Tylo and KKL as they both left the show and both had their personal dramas that was beyond their control; certainly HT should not have been fired from Melrose Place the way she was, but it seemed that all those “Hunter Tylo contract negotiations crisis” headlines that ran later on 1999-2002 the show probably grew tired of the power plays and drama that’s why Taylor was killed off in 2002; I think Thudley wanted Taylor back but being the petty writer that’s why Taylor’s character was trashed overtime, similar to how Brooke was trashed following KKL’s own drama about almost leaving the show.

Why did KKL almost leave the show?

Mason and Julia have weathered many storms together. They have had political careers which sent them to Washington for a time. However, upon CCs death, they returned to Santa Barbara to support Samantha's claim to the chairmanship of Capwell Enterprises. Adriana is at the head of Armonti because Sophia has retired. Mason and Julia have had a grand time traveling the world. They are still steamy and not boring.

Chip found out about his conception and went into the law. He is currently the DA. He's had his heart broken multiple times  He just met a mysterious new woman who may or may not have old ties in town. Adriana and Samantha are thick as thieves. They are working together to outwit Brandon. Samantha is dating Johnny. Adriana and Johnny dated back in the day, but knew it wasn't going to work, so they became friends ala Cass and Felicia style.

What is Mason and Julia up to these days? 😂

For her first stint on the show Arianne Zucker went by Zuker.

Tracey Bregman added the E to her first name thanks to the advice from a psychic.

And let's not forget Tracey E Bregman and my personal favorite Tracey Bregman Recht.

And let's not also forget when Eva Longoria was on Why and Are. She went by Eva Longoria Christopher when she was married to Tyler Christopher.

I also remember while watching the various 90s credits to As The World Turns that Tamara Tunie briefly went by Tamara Tunie Bouquett.

Janice Lynde made little impact in this return. Her acting skills are a little rusty, and I’m not sure makeup and hair did the best they could on her. She didn’t look like woman of means, I know that.

I wasn't asking for Emmy winning performances. I was talking about giving her something to do other than be a "Glorified Extra"

If the palazzo belongs to the Newmans, then why have the same suitcases been piled on a luggage rack in Victoria's room since she arrived? Surely the cases would be put away by staff?

All that fuss over the wedding dress but not a mention of who chose Ashland's ugly velvet get up.

Was the dress worthy of the praise heaped upon it? Not really. And then Victoria changed into another silky white dress for the reception. Surely choosing that dress would have been of almost as much importance as the bridal gown? After all the reception was where all the elite would be checking out the newlyweds...

And really, Victoria declaring this was the happiest day of her life. Girl, maybe you should review the tapes of all your previous weddings-pretty sure you would have said the same thing then?

Nick whining about his treatment from Victor is ridiculous - that man has been doing the same thing for years. How many times has Nick wanted to walk away from the family? Fake drama because they can't think of anything else for the character. And Josh Morrow's 'acting choices' seem all over the place.

Not one mention by Jack to Leslie about Theo? It was great to have Janice back but she was just a glorified extra. How about a scene with Victor referencing Lorie? Any new viewer would have no idea that Leslie had a past connection. Maybe Leslie could talk to Tessa about their music and we could see a flashback of young, dowdy Les playing in the Brooks living room as she recalled her younger self .

Or what if Leslie offered Tessa the chance to come with her on tour around Europe and debates whether or not to go because of Mariah.

We should've gotten a mention of Leslie and her sisters finally meeting Theo and how proud she is of Brooks running Prentiss Industries. But like you said they treated Janice like she was a glorified extra instead of a character with so much legacy.

Episode 137: Kristen vs. Stephanie is brilliant. Why, oh why did they stop this feud? So upsetting. Not to mention, Susan Flannery and Teri Ann Linn have amazing chemistry. Tracy Melchior did fine, but, in comparison, she lacks. I cannot help but wonder what Brenda Epperson (ex-Ashley, Y&R) could have done in the role of Kristen in Melchior's place.

Actually, I think Brenda would've been a good Kristen recast.

    I 100% agree - I never understood this, either.

Actually, they could have tweaked it a bit where Rachel and Russ wouldn't even need to be romantically involved. I would have played out the long game in the relationship - Rachel isn't looking for anyone new after the love of her life has passed. Russ isn't really looking for romance, either, and certainly not with his ex-wife. However, they both find a fun and unique *friendship*. They go out to dinner, dancing, etc. - they have fun!

Their non-romantic relationship causes various reactions with some in Bay City. For instance, Amanda is thrilled by the fact that her Mom is on the rebound, but not necessarily a romantic rebound. Matt has a different take, though, and doesn't trust the situation at all. Matt influences Josie to not trust her newfound father, and therefore Russ can't seem to get close to Josie, no matter how much he tries (much to the relief of Sharlene). I would have also kept either Alice or Pat on full time, as they would be the ones from the Matthews point of view - should Russ really be doing this? Is Russ falling for Rachel again? Is history repeating itself? Jamie would be the one who would look at it all with cautious optimism 😁.

Agreed. Some actual drama is nice. I appreciated some of what he tried to do, other stuff not so much. I feel like of the four US soaps, GH would have been a better fit.

Well he co-created and produced Holby City which is the Grey's equivalent for the BBC. So he probably would've done okay there.

Mal Young should have stayed where he was before wrecking several characters that it had taken over a year to rehabilitate. Not to mention the stupid one show one day only. Some scenes in a story take more than one day to tell.  At least he kept Chelsea off-screen, I'll give him that.

I didn't care for the "Everyday is a new day" But like you had he knew when to get rid of Chelsea, Kevin, and Chloe. Though I hated how they crafted Nate early on to be "Deepak Chopra" who came off as he knew Lily since elementary school instead of being first cousins and Neil and Dru's nephew/godson.

Umm ABC needs to catch up... HULU smh...

I know it would never happen. But I wouldn't mind Loving and Ryan's Hope to stream on Hulu or the throwback page on ABC.com
