All My Children Tribute Thread
Hahaha yep But you're right, if I were watching a soap I wasn't passionate about and it wasn't good/holding my attention, I may just give it up these days because 5 hours a week is a lot of commitment vs. 1 hour a week like primetime. But soaps back in the 90s, like AMC, never got awful enough to me where I felt like I could or wanted to quit.

LOL at Shanice gossiping on the phone about Leslie showing up to the concert, and then getting giddy when Derek shows up in his gym attire.

I would say it's a little of both, but I generally just get FOMO and hate to miss anything, good or bad. Like some TV shows that I just got bored with (i.e. Walking Dead) - I still watched out of habit or at least had on in the background because I wanted to see how it ended or what happened generally. But for soaps, with the fast pace and cliffhangers, I hate to miss anything. When I was a kid and the VCR broke or didn't tape a day, or my mom watched without me because I was grounded that week, I was heartbroken LOL.

They sure did, especially during vacations! I remember those days setting the VCR and getting at least a week's worth of episodes on a tape while we were gone on vacation. Or, we'd take blank tapes and find a VCR where we traveled and made sure we could tape and watch throughout. So funny how important soaps were back then that we went to all that trouble and couldn't miss a single episode!

You're welcome! I'm not sure what the Archive is, but that Vault is what I've been using and it's very reliable if you're looking for every episode starting at least 93/94. For AMC - gosh, that is so hard. I loved most of the 90s. You could always start with Kelly Ripa's arrival in Nov 1990, which shortly after, in 1991, starts one of the best/most talked about storylines of that time (Janet/Natalie and the well). That also starts the more gothic Wildwind era, which is highly praised. Tad also returns in 1992 which is pretty iconic. Sarah Michelle Gellar as Kendall starts in 1993 which is a great storyline. Otherwise you could start in 1994 at the tornado episodes because really good storylines spawn from that, but it's really hard to skip 90-93. 1995 has Marcy Walker return as Liza Colby (immediately after she left GL as Tangie), which is a delicious Liza/Tad/Dixie triangle. That then leads to the really strong gay teacher storyline and the live shooting/murder on air in late 95/early 96 (which I sort of think GL copied, in a horrible way, when they tried to do the Griffin teaching college kids about black history/etc and the subsequent fake public assassination). Gosh, now I want to go back and watch AMC again I know this is the GL thread, so if you have any questions, just DM me or we can talk about it in the AMC thread!

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
This bolded part! She continues to do it - and everyone comments on her videos about how unnecessary it is, but she continues to do it. I don't understand. And the way she says "Davoon" 😵💫

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
LOL oh her videos are so chaotic and insufferable. Yet I still follow her haha. She's been on this 'supermodel snack' kick since she's moved to Miami and did her bathing suit runway night. She thinks she's a supermodel now, so ridiculous.

I wish we knew the reason why Hayley is faking this pregnancy. This show never likes to let us in on the secrets, we have to find them out as the other characters do... which is fine and effective sometimes, but not all the times.

LOL! But ugh, this storyline is taking a weird turn. Doug just quit and wants to now be a money laundering king that rivals Joey? I don't know that we needed to go down that path, but if Doug isn't a contract player, maybe this will lead to his death?

I was SO happy to see Carole back at the clubhouse and in good graces with Andy. I wonder if his falling out with Bethenney helped that.

Are Keith Hamilton Cobb or Mathew St. Patrick still acting? I guess maybe they'd be a little older these days. Trying to figure out who could be known to long-time fans and be cast as a 'hot male' character. Not that older folks can't be hot haha, but it makes me think we're talking about 30-40s.
