While I'm not here for Carlton/Nicole, it was nice to see him be a gentlemen there in the end. It was also nice to see Nicole let her hair down. Jordi is a much better, more comfortable actor than Ben G, so I already thought Greyson/Ashley had more chemistry. It wasn't awkward like most scenes with Ashley/Derek have been.

LOL - I didn't even think of that (the "saints" translation) - how ironic. Definitely a choice all around. I'm just new to the Santos family, but Mick of course was bad (the first guy who Michelle killed in self-defense). He started it all. Gosh, I don't know much at all about the Island people, but doesn't sound promising haha. Unless this is the Prince I've read about that maybe Cassie or Beth was in a relationship with. And I remember a clip of a blind Reva holding someone at gun point... if none of that has anything to do with the Island people, then nevermind :)

Oh this is very interesting, thanks for posting! I'm glad Moniz was able to still go to GL after that long year of waiting. Gosh, I don't think Sydney Penny would have worked as well in that role. She was amazing on AMC and very popular, so going there made a ton of sense being part of the iconic Santos family. Moniz plays bitchy/scrappy really well. Speaking of the Santos family, could GL not think of any other last name for their first major hispanic family? Haha, just seems like they were looking over to AMC and said ok, we'll take that name too.

OMG - yes!!! What a nice surprise. I was curious if they would land Susan at some point and what a great surprise to see this. I know she probably is going to talk about her new book she's gotta sell, but hey, this is great!

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
100% agree haha. Those guys were so rude and it was LOL watching Angel slowly introduce each guy as if anyone there cared. I especially liked Gizelle and Stacey's reactions to the men. It was so weird, yet so funny.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Totally agree on all of this! Something sketch about Angel, but I'm actually here for it because I find the whole thing to be hilarious and entertaining. It's giving old school Atlanta a bit.

I’m up to December 30, 1998. *What a dreary, dismal 1998 Christmas and New Year's! In a very snowy Chicago, Hart gets to Cassie’s empty hotel room and sees info on the train she’s taking written on a note. He calls the train station and they tell him that Tammy went ahead and her sister Reva picked Cassie up, so he heads back to SF, but unfortunately the snow is so bad and the roads are closed so he’s stuck. We then see Cassie get into a car, thinking it’s Reva, but realizes the driver is Dinah in a blonde wig! She asks why she has Reva’s car, but Dinah said it’s a rental and Cassie is confused about what’s happening. Dinah starts driving and tells Cassie that Hart knows the truth about being the father of her baby, and Cassie is surprised and eventually says she is meant to be with Hart. But Dinah says that Cassie needs to disappear and leave SF for good. Dinah then gets into an accident and drives off the road! They’re fine, but the car is stalled and won’t start. As they’re arguing, Cassie starts to go into labor! Cassie calls Hart’s cell and says she’s in labor, and just as she’s saying where they are, Dinah snatches the phone out of her hand and hangs up. Hart starts driving out against the cop’s orders, and Dinah thinks Cassie is faking labor, so she gets out of the car and says she’s walking to find help and Hart can rescue Cassie since that’s what she really wants. That’s how the 12/23 episode ends and we then see Jerry verDorn wishing the audience a Merry Christmas with all the crew and their families LOL. What a Merry Christmas we’re having in Springfield this year of 1998 (not!). The next episode, Dinah has second thoughts about leaving Cassie, so she returns. She eventually helps Cassie deliver her baby in the car, just as Hart arrives. Hart/Cassie hug with their baby as Dinah watches from the backseat, who later leaves the car and cries alone (12/24). Meanwhile, we see that Teri picked up Tammy and took her to her apartment. Alan then arrives and is surprised to see Tammy there. Teri said she got a call about an abandoned girl at the train station, so she saved her. Teri starts to braid Tammy’s hair and Alan mentions Annie used to do that with Tammy. On Christmas Eve, Reva gets Abby to help her get into Josh’s hospital room so she can get him home. Josh refuses to go because he’s afraid he’ll hurt her or the children because he’s not sure what’s wrong with him. Later that night, Abby and Rick (dressed as Santa) comes to the Lewis house and gives Marah/Shane gifts. Teri arrives with Tammy and tells Reva that Cassie got held up, but sent Tammy ahead. Reva is worried, but tells Teri she’s the reason Josh isn’t home with his family for Christmas, but Teri says Reva’s the one who should be locked up instead, given her crazy conspiracy theories about her. Teri then leaves and Abby tries to cheer Reva up. At the hospital, Josh has a flashback to a sweet moment with HB and it pushes him to be with his family for Christmas, so he leaves the hospital and shows up at the house. Reva/Josh have a tearful reunion of sorts and then the Lewis family decorate the tree together. Teri goes to the hospital to see Josh, but finds an empty room and then accidentally gets locked in his room. She starts screaming for help, but given it’s Christmas Eve, the hospital has a skeleton crew and no one can hear her, leaving her alone all night. Selena tells Drew she found her daughter, which makes Drew happy. I guess I didn’t realize this before, but apparently Drew never knew she was adopted, so when Drew finds out Selena’s daughter wasn’t told she was adopted, she gets upset and says she would hate her parents for that, which makes Selena sad and hesitant to tell her the truth. On Christmas Eve, Ross comes to visit the boys, but makes a little joke about the toys Ben bought for the boys. Ben decides he should go and leave them to enjoy Christmas together without him. Blake talks him into staying, but Ross suggests he’ll go to the Spaulding get-together with the boys, leaving Ben and Blake to have a romantic evening together. Ross and Blake say Merry Christmas to each other sweetly and he leaves. Ben and Blake then make love and spend the evening together. Meanwhile, Phillip and Harley host several people for Christmas Eve (Lillian, Alex, Alan, India, Vicky, David, Buzz, Selena, Susan, Jim), with Beth later arriving with Lizzie. Drew shows up (not sure why she’s invited haha), and Selena’s plan is to tell her the truth that evening (but she doesn’t). Ross then shows up and talks to a happy India. Susan tries to find ways (by lying) to get Harley and Jim together during the party. Harley makes a little speech about being with all their loved ones and everyone starts singing Silent Night just as Rick and Abby walk in and joins them. Hart/Cassie/Dinah somehow make it back to SF safely with the baby in tow. They go to the Lewis house and Reva/Josh get to meet the baby. Josh apologizes to Cassie about what happened previously and vows to figure out what’s wrong with him. They ask if they’ve named the baby and they haven’t even thought about it. Dinah can’t stand it and leaves, but Hart follows her outside and she says that should be her baby with him instead. Hart says he’ll always be thankful to her for helping Cassie deliver the baby and hugs her. Inside, Cassie tells Reva what happened and how Dinah held her hostage. Reva says Hart will dump Dinah for Cassie and she needs to tell him what Dinah did, but she doesn’t. Cassie and Hart talk and he says he has to be there for Dinah while she goes through her plastic surgery but otherwise he wants to be with Cassie. She doesn’t like that and says it has to be all or nothing, so she packs up the baby and goes to Cross Creek to recover and bond with the baby, while Hart takes Dinah home (blah). Bill goes to visit Josh and finds a terrified Teri there instead and gets her out of the room. He helps to calm her down and she then invites him to dinner at the Towers one day to thank him. This is getting a little weird, are they going to try and pair Bill and Teri? Teri goes to the Lewis house and tells Reva/Josh that she’s no longer pressing charges and he won’t need to stay at the hospital. She leaves and Reva is confused by her 180 and assumes she’s hiding something. Reva/Josh, now on the same page about Teri, go to Frank and said they want Josh re-admitted to the hospital so they can get his new test results back. While packing up their things, Josh is triggered by his shave kit and Reva goes through the contents and he freaks out about his aftershave. She says there’s nothing to be worried about, and puts some on herself to prove it. She’s then under the drug, being very obedient and doing what Josh suggests (like find Frank funny, to which she laughs at everything Frank says). Josh has figured out it’s the aftershave that’s making him weird and they run a test on it at the hospital. The results come back positive for the drug, which Frank tells them is the same truth serum drug they gave Ken. Meanwhile, Annie visits Alan and lies to him that Josh/Reva are accusing him of being involved in Josh’s odd behavior. While he leaves to get changed, she puts the drug bottles in his safe, framing him as the person owning the drug that Josh was on. On her way out, she kisses Alan and they wish each other a happy new year. Alan privately thinks to himself that he was reminded of Annie with that kiss. It seems as though Jesse/Drew/Michelle are actually living in the same apartment unit now (they never really established that before), and while the three of them and Bill are hanging out, Danny comes in and grabs Michelle and kisses her in front of all them. Jesse rages and they break the guys up, and Danny says he and Michelle are lab partners in class, which upsets Jesse because Michelle never told him. Alone, Danny tells Drew the reason he kissed Michelle was to show Jesse’s jealous reaction and assumes that he did the same thing to Mick and was capable of killing him. Danny pressures Drew about the truth until she cries and runs away, and then we see a mystery man named Dietz tell Danny that he’s dragging his feet and the ‘boss’ is giving him 48 more hours to figure out the killer or else all the ‘kids’ (Michelle/Drew/Jesse/Bill) are dead. Meanwhile, Michelle tells Jesse this was the second time Danny has surprised her with a kiss and he gets angry. Later, Jesse tells Bill his plan is to leave town, to lure Danny to him and keep him out of Michelle’s life. He makes Bill promise not to tell Michelle until it’s over. Jesse later tells Michelle he got an art gallery gig in NYC and needs to leave, but Bill will take care of her while he’s gone. When Drew finds out, she breaks down crying and doesn’t want Jesse to go, telling him she loves him and she doesn’t want to die. He tries to convince her this is the only way, to make Danny think he killed Mick so the girls are safe. Later downstairs, Drew confesses to Danny that Michelle killed his brother Mick! She says he was hurting and abusing her and she got scared and hit him with the rock. India, the grifter, and Ross spend time together on Christmas Day and India finds Ross’s checkbook and realizes he has more money than she expected. Meanwhile, Holly visits Blake and sees a nearly naked Ben and gets mad that Blake/Ben are together, which leads her to drink. Holly threatens Blake that if she keeps this up, the Stalker might come after her for prioritizing Ben over her kids. Later, on NYE night, Ross and India stop by to see the kids and Ross overhears Blake telling Ben she loves him. He then oddly suggests that the four of them go out together on NYE at Millennium to get to know each other and make it seem like a ‘new normal’, where there is no resentment. The party does not go well, as Ross does a toast to Ben/Blake’s new relationship, which comes across as jealous and pompous. Blake calls him out on it, and he admits the real truth, that he hates each of them and hates them together, and thinks they’re both the most self-absorbed people he knows (ouch!). He then throws his glass, takes India away and kisses her. After Christmas, it’s time for Susan and Jim to go back home, but Susan begs Harley to let her stay for a few more days. Harley sticks to her guns and says no.

Ohhh I can't wait for that, I love location shots! And I have no idea what it'll be, so that's even more exciting. Thank you!!! I definitely have 1989-1992 on my radar and will start in that era where all episodes are available. I can't wait! Once I start that, I'll watch all the way up to where I started on Feb 10, 1995.

I thought it was really nice that Laura acknowledged Luke today, but did I hear her correctly that she contemplated calling Luke to help her? Or did she just say she wishes she could have? Because Luke died right? Based on the GH page I use to educate me on all the characters and relationships, Luke died in 2017.

Finally got to watch the second half and I thought it was a great episode too. The emotions and character-driven storytelling have been refreshing. My only nitpick - Naomi's look to Dani was not convincing enough for me to think Dani thought that meant she was a carrier. She could have played that better.

I'm in the very beginning stages now of the mob, so I need some time to see if I agree about Budig in the role. Budig went to AMC and played a spoiled brat (eventually maturing from there), but could easily and believably stand up to people and be a b!tch. I'm guessing it's moreso that Budig's Michelle was more of an upbeat girl who pined after a man who had her mother's heart. It's almost like they got lucky to have to recast her so they could start a new story that is different from what Budig's Michelle was doing. We'll see though how I feel after a few months of the mob stuff. I just googled PAS to see what he's doing these days and was more surprised/interested in seeing that he's gay and married! That's wonderful, I had no idea. Totally agree about Maeve, she's beautiful and still is today. I also don't think Vanessa would really actually go under the knife either, just doesn't seem in her character. Gosh, I can't wait to see what happens with that Holly tease! :) Ugh, that doesn't sound promising re: 1999 being the turning point for GL. If I don't love it and feel like it's a different show, that'll be the point when I jump back in time and watch the better days.

Michelle's final act before getting absorbed by the mob LOL (I'm just getting into this story now and it's like a new world)... I really feel like Jenna's spirit talking to Holly should have been the turning point for Holly, otherwise what was the point? I'm still curious to see what happens with Holly, but it's starting to drag now with her alcoholism and obsession over kids.

I think they did too, but I also wonder if Laura Wright's maternity leave sort of changed things up a bit? They hinted at a pairing between the two, which I thought was actually working. Then they all lied and said he's the father of Hart's baby... but once she had to go on maternity, she left SF for a long time and he helped escort her out, but we haven't seen him since. They never re-integrated him back into the Reva/Josh/Annie storyline, so he's sort of on an island (again LOL). Although during this time, GL has gone through quite a few men on contract that don't really make it after their 6 or 12-month contract when their storylines end (i.e. Jeffrey, Rob, Sean)...

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
I’m up to December 22, 1998. Josh escapes from the hospital and Reva confides in Abby that she thinks Annie is still alive and using Teri as an agent to destroy them. She then tells Frank her suspicions, but he doesn’t believe it. Meanwhile, Josh goes to Teri’s and threatens her to tell him what’s happening to him and why he can’t stop dreaming and thinking of her. Frank calls Teri’s cell and she’s able to answer and briefly tell him that Josh has held her captive and she needs help (a lie), so Frank heads that way after telling Reva and Abby on his way out. Josh keeps yelling at Teri and she tells him this is all Reva’s fault, and just as Frank and the cops are knocking on the door, Teri rips her shirt to make it seem like Josh roughed her up and Frank, Reva and the cops barge in and see a deranged Josh and a ‘hurt’ Teri. They argue about who is to blame, with Reva really being a [!@#$%^&*] to Teri. Teri finally pulls out her cell and plays voicemails that Josh left her saying he really needs to see and be with her, which stuns Reva and Josh both. Reva then says she’s doctored the voicemails, which is something Annie could easily do. Josh then says that’s his voice and he made those calls, but he has no idea why. Reva still says that’s not her husband and she’s done something to him. Reva refuses to let them take Josh to get a psych evaluation and wants to take him home, but Teri says she’s left with no other choice, she places Josh under arrest because she’s pressing charges on him for assault. LOL at how mad Reva is, I don’t know if I’ve seen such raw vitriol coming out of Kim Zimmer like these last couple episodes. Anyway, Josh is now in the loony bin and Reva is desperate. Reva finally gets a hold of Cassie, tells her what is happening with Teri, and Cassie confesses that Josh really did act that way with her too. Cassie finally realizes that Reva is right and something strange is happening that Josh can’t help, and she agrees to come back to SF to help Reva find Annie once and for all. I guess Laura Wright’s maternity leave is now over. India is hawking her jewelry at the Towers for money and runs into Ben. They flirt for a bit but she realizes he’s Ross’s brother and changes her tune. She tells him that Blake is ‘common’ and then leaves. I wonder what they plan for these two - a possible chemistry test? Anyway, Ross ends up buying the jewelry, not knowing anything about it, and gives it to India as a gift for taking care of him over Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, Ben goes to Blake’s house to talk and they kiss under the mistletoe. A guilt-ridden Holly goes to Buzz and tells him the truth that she told Jeffrey that Rocky was his son, and not Buzz’s (not directly, Jeffrey overheard her talking to Jenna about it). He’s so confused and asks why and she said she got mad at Jenna for losing the children. He goes ballistic for a bit but calms himself down and walks away, while Ken watches from a distance. Ken tries to convince Holly not to tell the truth because she could be committed to the psych ward like he was. Buzz later apologizes to Holly for his reaction. Hart and Dinah have been getting closer and they finally have sex. They plan on spending Christmas together, but as she takes Hart’s coat, a picture of Cassie falls out. Dinah doesn’t like it and says they can cancel their plans, but Hart says he was planning to burn the photo and he’s over her. He tries to assure Dinah that she’s the one he wants to grow with in the future, not Cassie (although I don’t really buy it), and he burns the photo in front of her. She’s excited and wants to go buy a Christmas tree for Maureen’s first Christmas and they decide to go out in public for the first time without her bandages. They find a tree and head to Vanessa/Matt’s house. Meanwhile, Vanessa and Matt have been arguing again about a business deal between Spaulding and Lewis. They later talk about Hart/Dinah’s relationship and Vanessa mentions she’s worried about Dinah once Hart finds out that Cassie’s baby really is his, which Hart/Dinah overhear as they walk in. Dinah pretends like they didn’t say it specifically, which Vanessa backs up, but Hart isn’t sure he believes it. Hart point blank asks Matt if the baby is his, and Matt can’t support the ladies and he says yes, the baby is his. Hart is upset that everyone knew and didn’t tell him and he storms out. Dinah tells Vanessa/Matt she’ll never forgive them for this, and Vanessa later gives Matt a hard time for telling the truth (ugh). He plans to leave and spend the night somewhere so they can have some space between them and cool off, but just as he’s leaving, Maureen starts walking for the first time. They get excited, Matt films them and things seem happy. He decides to stay home and says they all need to be together for Christmas and they kiss. Drew and Selena get into it again at the diner over something silly and Drew tells Selena her daughter was lucky to not have to be raised by her. Selena says she must have been the daughter from hell for her parents, and Drew then fires Selena from her job at Millennium. The next day, the audience sees a baby picture of Drew in her apartment and then we see the same picture in Selena’s bag when she’s at Millennium getting her last paycheck, so I guess this is the audience reveal that Drew is Selena’s daughter! Selena follows Drew to her apartment, arguing with her about getting her paycheck and sees the framed photo of Drew as a baby and Selena asks who it is. Drew, still upset, says it’s her as a baby and Selena realizes that’s her daughter (12/18)! Drew kicks her out and Selena breaks down outside over the truth. She goes to Buzz and tells him about Drew and he supports her. Meanwhile, Jesse supports a crying Drew, who talks about being lonely and missing her father for her birthday/Christmas, and how she never had a mother because her adopted mother divorced her dad while she was really young. We find out Drew and her dad are Jewish and she wishes she could light the menorah with her dad, so Jesse later brings her a menorah and Drew lights the last candle, which was very sweet. They finally gave Drew some good material here and Tammy Blanchard is shining. The next day, Selena tells Buzz about a little birthmark her daughter had on her neck, so Buzz arranges for Drew to come by and he notices a little birthmark and realizes Selena is right. He tells Drew that Selena is actually a nice lady and has respect for her, even saying she’s impressed by how hard she worked to open Millennium, which surprises Drew and makes her happy. Susan continues to manipulate Harley into getting what she wants, which Phillip sees through. Susan clearly doesn’t want Phillip around, and she confides in Harley that she doesn’t think Phillip likes her (this girl is annoying me). She later asks if she can change her name to Daisy, as a Christmas gift. Harley isn’t sure that would be nice to her dad, since he named her Susan. Phillip agrees, which pisses off Susan who gives him a death stare. Phillip later tells Harley she needs to stop trying so hard to appease this girl. Jim comes back with Christmas gifts and alone, Susan asks him what he thinks of Harley. She tells him that Harley said she really likes him and then she says Harley is so pretty. Ugh, it seems they’re setting up a Harley/Jim pairing that Susan is plotting, which will drive Harley/Phillip apart. This girl is trouble. Dinah goes to Annie for help with her Hart situation. Annie suggests she get drastic in her approach and find a way to make Cassie hate Hart forever. She talks to Reva and is able to figure out that Cassie is on her way back to SF, so Annie later suggests Dinah get to Cassie first. Dinah calls the train station in Chicago, pretends to be Reva, and requests them to give Cassie a message - send Tammy home on the train, but she’s going to come pick her up herself. Meanwhile, Hart goes to Blake’s for help, and Ben is there. Ben, being in a festive mood, decides to help Hart find Cassie. He calls his contacts and gets an address immediately, so Hart leaves to find Cassie in Chicago. Blake and Ben then kiss at the Christmas tree and it’s clear they’re together, but taking things slowly. Later, they have a date at Millennium and Ross/India walk in on a date, which irritates Blake because she doesn’t like India from their past. Blake walks up to talk to Ross about Christmas and spending time with the boys, while India makes a phone call. The person India is talking to says she has insufficient funds, which India is arguing against and then notices that Ben overheard and he now realizes she’s without a dime. Michelle visits Holly and Ken and realizes Holly is delusional for expecting Fletcher to bring Meg home for Christmas. Holly is planning all this time with Meg, so Michele decides to stay a bit to ensure she’s ok. She is offered eggnog, takes a sip and realizes there is alcohol in there. Michelle is disappointed because Holly said she had stopped drinking awhile back. Holly says she’s still going to AA meetings and ushers her quickly out of the house, saying she’ll make sure to bring Meg by for a Christmas visit. Holly starts to hear Meg’s voice yell Mommy over and over, so she takes a bottle and starts chugging. She then sees a present with a card from Fletcher that says they’re thinking of her and they’re sorry they will miss her for Christmas, which makes her break down. Outside the house, Michelle runs into Danny, who again seems to be following her. He gives her a gift which happens to be a picture of her in the park alone, which seems creepy, but he insists he’s trying to explore his creative side.
