  1. This insta-baby storyline for BLQ and Chase is really ridiculous. Probably the most eye-roll worthy thing I've seen since I started watching back in September. I'm hoping there is more to the story, like who this mother was and how she may be connected to the canvas.
  2. Thanks for posting this! Love to hear it and see that clip of her from AMC. :)
  3. Do we know whatever happened to Peaches? Is she still on her deathbed in the hospital, or did she get better? Ok, I've always liked Nicole, and I actually like her single 'getting her groove back' phase. But her holier than thou attitude this week with Kial is annoying. She's playing two men at the same time, and they know it, so why wouldn't you expect them to be jealous of each other. Don't act like a scolding parent to these men.
  4. I’m up to April 27, 1999. *They finally gave nuBill something to do, but I agree with most, Ryan Brown just isn't that strong here. Danny goes to the lighthouse and Michelle walks in, surprising him by saying she never left the country and she was staying there to think about her relationship with Jesse. However, she admits that all she could think about the entire time was Danny. She says she can’t fight her feelings anymore and wants to be with him and she then kisses him. While crying, Danny says she’ll never be able to accept his family and what they do, so it won’t work out and he walks out, leaving Michelle to cry. The next morning, he presents her with annulment papers to sign, but she refuses to sign them. Jesse declares to Drew that he loves her and was jealous when he knew she slept with Danny. She asks about Michelle, but Jesse says he needs to tell her it’s over and he wants to be with her instead. Drew is excited but says he has to tell Michelle first before they go any further. Later, Michelle and Drew talk and Michelle tells her that she thinks it’s over with Jesse and Drew is happy, but she can’t bring herself to tell Michelle about Jesse choosing her now. Drew and Jesse then later have sex for the first time, with Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” playing. After, while still in bed naked and holding each other, Michelle walks in and sees them. She runs out, and Jesse/Drew run after her and apologize for her finding out that way. Drew leaves to give them space to talk, and eventually through a very emotional conversation, Michelle and Jesse realize they’re over. Michelle apologizes to Jesse for hurting him and they hug, as Drew walks in. Drew is concerned that Jesse changed his mind and chose Michelle, but Michelle leaves and Jesse assures Drew that he only wants her and kisses her. Pilar calls Bill to pick her up, but Carmen catches them leaving and tries to stop Pilar from going. Bill stops Carmen and she threatens him to back off. Pilar lays into her mother and Carmen loses control and slaps the ever living hell out of her! Carmen immediately regrets it, but Pilar runs off. Bill runs after her and while together, Bill voices his concerns that he’s in danger if he helps her out, but Pilar begs him to let her stay with him. He says she can get a job at Millennium and they role play waitress/customer in a flirtatious way. The next morning, Bill convinces Drew to hire her, which excites Pilar. Max is trying to take money from the Millennium bar, and then order a beer, but Selena catches and stops him. She then tells him that Drew is his sister and pressures him to tell Drew stories about their mother (this doesn’t seem ok to me, could really mess up Max’s head). She blackmails him into helping her, saying she could turn him in for stealing her ring and they would believe her over him, so he reluctantly goes along with it. Later, Susan, who now wears makeup and has straightened her hair to look older, runs into Max at Millennium. He’s mean to her, still calling her a little girl, but she says she knows that just means he really likes her, which shuts him up. Buzz is preparing to give Jenna’s clothes away to charity, which makes him sad, but Selena is there to comfort him through the process. Blake, Cassie and Harley are celebrating Blake’s independence from Ben at Millennium, but Ben shows up. They blow him off and he finds Annie at a table alone. They talk and Annie wants him to be his lawyer again so he can help get her community service charges lessened. He’s distracted and keeps looking at Blake, which Annie notices and she decides they should dance together and make Blake feel jealous. The ladies see them dancing and Blake is disgusted that he would be with Annie. Ben then gets a call from Carmen and has to leave, but on his way out tells Blake she knows this isn’t over. Ben arrives at Carmen’s, where she’s crying over Pilar, and after trying to stay tough with him, she becomes emotional and he hugs her. We later see Carmen tell one of her henchmen to find a way to remove Bill from Pilar’s life, so it forces her to come back to her family. That henchman then finds Bill, beats him up a bit and tells him to stay away from Pilar or he’ll regret it. Later, Danny and Pilar see a beaten up Bill and Bill assumes it was Danny that made the order. Privately, Danny says it wasn’t him and he would trust having Bill hang out with Pilar. He asks Bill not to tell Pilar it was their mother, as Danny goes off to confront Carmen about it. Pilar then pressures Bill into the truth, assuming it was her mother, and he caves and says yes, it was Carmen. Bill says he’s not going to be scared away and will be there to support/protect Pilar. Later, Danny confronts Carmen and the henchman, attacks the henchman, and yells at Carmen to leave Pilar alone or else. This confrontation was a great scene and well-acted by both Danny and Carmen! Reva is back from vacation (I’ve been shocked that Reva/Josh have been MIA lately). Cassie is now their wedding planner and Reva asks her to be her maid of honor. To help find her something new/old/borrowed/blue, they look through old boxes that were saved from the old house fire. Cassie finds a mysterious ring that Reva says looks familiar, but she has no idea why (4/22). It looks to have some royal crest on it, and mysterious music is playing as they look at it. This must be the start of the San Cristobel storyline! Reva tries the ring on and it fits perfectly, like it was made for her. Later, Marah finds a pregnancy test and confronts Reva about it. The test is negative and Reva explains why they didn’t want to tell her about it first, until she was actually pregnant. Later, Reva has a dream where she’s wearing that ring, rocking a bundled baby and then sees a man (off-screen) who scares her. She looks down at her hands and realizes it’s just an empty blanket and the baby was taken from her and she screams “not my baby!”, before waking up. The next day, Josh finally comes home and Reva is now adamant that having a baby isn’t a good idea, first because Marah was concerned, and second because of her dream, which felt all too real to her. Josh calms her down and they agree to focus first on their wedding. They look through brochures to find a fun honeymoon spot and Josh calls out San Cristobel, the “small country with a big heart”, to which Reva says “with a town that overlooks the ocean”. Josh questions how she knows that and she says she’s not sure, she probably just heard it on TV or something. After Josh goes to the kitchen, she looks at the brochure and then her ring and ponders as mysterious music plays in the background (4/27). Holly gets a visit from Meg’s teacher, Kate, who Fletcher was falling for. She’s in town helping Meg transition to a local school, and tells Holly she always felt like Fletcher was still in love with her (Holly). After a little bit of a rough patch, things soften between them and Kate shows Holly pictures of Meg’s drawings and they smile. Kate says she hopes things work out between Holly and Fletcher and Holly thanks her. Fletcher and Blake show up and Fletcher is upset seeing Kate there. He pulls her aside and says her being there isn’t helpful to Holly and it seems as though he is calling things off with her officially. As Kate walks away, Blake warns her never to visit with Holly, Fletcher or Meg again, or else.
  5. 😂😂😂 I wouldn't be surprised if Kim did that!
  6. Ohh that last scene was amazing. Dr. Monica needs to stay! She's not going to put up with Leslie's BS at all.
  7. YES - I remember this happening and was like crap, what is happening... I just pulled up my notes from this episode and thankfully it was shut down quickly. This was August 1998: Reva isn’t taking Dolly’s death well, and starts to lash out at Josh and can’t make love to him. She also wears Dolly’s wig and says she wants to feel what it was like to be in her shoes, which concerns Josh. Reva then sees Dolly’s spirit, who tells her basically to move on and she’ll be ok, so Reva finally comes to her senses and reconciles with Josh. Josh then takes her on a romantic trip to a cottage where HB and Martha honeymooned.
  8. OMG I'm so excited for her. I love that she's playing a bitchy mother. She looks fabulous!
  9. This excited me so much - and she's playing a bitchy mother - love it!
  10. Reading about the Marty transformation is very interesting (I only have vague memories of OLTL at this time - mostly Tina/Cain/Alex/Luna/Max). I definitely remember Marty, but not in the way she was in 1992 from your prior recaps. Anyway, can't wait to read more about your thoughts in this area! I love that you can feel it. That clip of the day was SO fun. Such Dirty Dancing-vibes and I love scenes like this on soaps. Around this same era, there was a similar dance video of Dixie and Craig on AMC. It was way more sensual/sexual, but still similar in nature, and boy do I remember watching that as a kid, as if it were yesterday. I feel like had I seen this Marty/Seude scene as a kid, I would remember it just as well. Thanks for clipping this one.
  11. Thanks for the tag! :) Very cool, I had no idea either. I wonder what channel this was on. Aww I love this. I'm so happy for Michael. This is amazing!!! Susan and Walt - amazing words. I had no idea Walt and Michael would drive in to work together, love that Walt was open to that.
  12. Same here - I finally got to see the Oscars and I was so happy for him! I loved all the applause and support he received from the audience too.
  13. Ahhh gotcha ok - thank you :) It was interesting today that she said she doesn't want to use a surrogate or adopt - she just doesn't want kids, so guessing the surrogacy thing before was a hard experience for her.
  14. MEK is looking really good these days. Whatever he is doing is working. Is Molly's endo a new storyline or has the audience known this about her already? I have a very close friend with endo and I know how awful it can be.
  15. I echo everyone's sentiments - so happy to see you're back and enjoying your show again @Maxim :)
  16. Ok - that dream lasted two scenes, so I thought maybe it was real... I was getting worried! LOL I've been traveling and busy, but last Friday's show I thought was really strong.
  17. Dang, another Fifth Street Fire! Springfield has so many fires LOL! I know that opening was pretty iconic for those fans at the time, but this is a good example of why you need a more dramatic music/opening... to tell someone their dad is dead and then immediately go into the sitcom-style music opening, just takes away from the emotional fallout.
  18. Ahh good to know, I appreciate it! That's a good idea too, email and ask questions - if they aren't willing to respond, dead give away. Thanks :)
  19. I’m up to April 20, 1999. A moody Danny gets himself arrested for assaulting a cop while helping a family crony move illegal goods. Meanwhile, Carmen shows up at Ben’s place just as Blake is leaving and says she’s accepting his offer to be their family lawyer. Blake isn’t happy and tells him he can’t do it, but Carmen says this is a one-time offer and he better take it because it’s more important than his ‘little girlfriend’. Blake gives Ben an ultimatum on her way out and says if he still wants to be with her, he will say no to Carmen and meet her later. Carmen then tells Ben she needs him to get Danny out of jail. At the police station, Pilar shows up to support Danny and David Grant spills the beans to her that the Santos family is the largest crime mob in SF. She can’t believe it, and Carmen and Ben show up as they’re discussing it and Carmen tells Pilar not to listen to David. Ben is able to strong-arm Frank and get Danny off, which pleases Carmen and she proclaims to Ben that he now officially works for the Santos family. Later, Ben tells Blake he’s working for Carmen and she’s pissed off. She then sees a photographer outside and starts to fear for her boys’ safety. He tries to smooth it over and kisses her, which she plays along to, until he leaves. When alone, she calls a blacksmith and requests all her locks to be changed. Cassie comes by while the locks are getting changed and tells Blake this won’t stop Ben from getting to her because she has to emotionally get rid of Ben too. Cassie leaves and Ben eventually comes home and realizes his key doesn’t work and the lock was changed. He yells out at Blake to let him in, but she tells him to go away. He says he’s never going away and busts open the door! He tries to seduce her, but it doesn’t work this time and Blake finally stands up to him and says they are never going to work out. He keeps trying but she says if he wants her tonight, he’ll have to rape her and then she’ll make sure he rots in jail for the rest of his miserable life. He then asks if she is going back to Ross and she says it’s not his business and he finally leaves, which makes Blake proud of herself that she finally didn’t let him get to her. Danny tries to convince Pilar that their family isn’t bad, and then forces her to go back to school by arranging her flight back. Pilar later eyes Bill at the bar and starts to flirt with him and gives him a fake name. She asks if he knows Danny and Bill says unfortunately yes, and she then lies by saying Danny tried to force himself on her and she needs Bill’s help. They go to the diner to talk and Pilar uses him to get information about Danny. Bill tells her all about Danny and Michelle’s ‘marriage’ and Carmen being the big bad head of the Santos family, ordering people to be killed, which shocks Pilar. She asks if she could stay at his place for a few days and he says yes, but Danny walks in and demands she go with him. He reveals that’s his sister Pilar and Bill is shocked. Danny forces her to go to the airport, but Bill grabs him and punches him and they start to fight. Pilar breaks it up and Danny takes her outside and finally admits the truth, that Michelle killed Mick. She gets angry and says Michelle must pay for what she did, which shows Danny that for better or worse, she’s a ‘real’ Santos. Later, Pilar confronts her mother and says she knows who she is and what she does. Pilar says she’s leaving the family because she can’t stand what they do, but Carmen says she can’t because she funds her current lifestyle. Pilar says if she has to choose between her blood money and a city shelter, she chooses the shelter, which shocks and hurts Carmen. Harley convinces Phillip to apologize to Jim, so Phillip interrupts Jim/Beth’s date to apologize. Jim gets angry at him, but Phillip offers more money to keep him and Susan in town, which Jim accepts after Beth also encourages him to stay. Meanwhile, at the diner, Susan also tries to convince her ‘grandpa Buzz’ (LOL) to keep them in SF, and once they realize Jim decided they’re staying, they celebrate. Susan later runs into a young kid playing a video game at the diner, who btw is the guy that later played Will from ATWT (Jesse Soffer - 4/14)! We then see this kid steal money out of the cash register after Selena leaves it unattended. Jesse catches him stealing the money and confronts him outside, recognizing the kid as ‘Max’, who is from his town, Point Lester, and has spent time in juvenile hall in the past. Susan walks outside and covers for him, saying that’s her friend. Jesse lets him go, but warns him to behave before leaving. Max then pressures Susan to give him his money back, but she refuses and he calls her a little girl. She says she’s about to be 14 and he doesn’t believe it. He says he needs the money because he’s hungry and doesn’t have much of a family. He assumes she’s a spoiled rich girl because of her Spaulding name, but she tells him about her past and being adopted. She gives him the money and he leaves. She later tells Harley about this Max boy that she met and Harley realizes she has a crush on him. Susan then talks about wanting to be ‘sexy’ and grow up fast so boys will like her. Selena and Drew discuss how happy Drew is now, and since Selena was able to easily find Drew’s mother, she wants her help in finding other relatives of Dorothy Nickerson because she could have a whole family out there she doesn’t know, which concerns Selena. Buzz and Selena try and tell her this isn’t a good idea, but eventually Buzz says he’ll help her. Privately, Selena casually kisses Buzz which surprises them both and they walk away without talking about it. Jesse later warns Buzz/Selena to stop giving Drew false hope or else he’ll tell Drew the truth. The next day, Drew continues to be so happy about the idea of a family and Jesse can’t help but tell her how beautiful she is when she’s smiling so much. He then draws her portrait (like he did with Michelle in the past), and then watches her undress from behind the folded screen. She turns on music (Cher) and wants to dance and they eventually fall into each other on the couch and they end up kissing passionately. Jesse later calls his realtor and says he’s no longer looking for a place to live and he’s happy staying where he is now (with Drew). Meanwhile, Drew goes back to her “mom’s” gravesite and gushes about kissing Jesse and how things are looking up for her. Max then walks up and asks her what she’s doing. Drew says she’s visiting her mother and he says that can’t be true, because Dorothy is HIS mother! Drew tells him how she recently found out about Dorothy, but he thinks it’s a scam and demands she leave. She tells him about Ron and he says there is no Ron, so she shows him her birth certificate but he says it’s a fake and someone is fooling her. She’s still insistent that Dorothy must not have told Max about having another child, so she offers him money to talk to her and he accepts. They go to her loft and he realizes she’s rich. He tells her a little about Dorothy and how he’s bouncing from friend and foster homes, so she offers him to stay at her loft with her so they can get to know each other better. She leaves and lets him hang out alone, and he says to himself that he can’t believe this rich girls really thinks they’re related. Later, Jesse walks in and roughs him up a bit, asking why he’s there, but Drew comes in and tells Jesse that’s her brother. She then calls Selena to come over and tells her she found her brother, which shocks Selena. Jesse tells Selena that Max now sees a goldmine in Drew and will con her, so he has to tell Drew the truth now, but Selena says absolutely not. Jesse then admits he cares for Drew and is falling in love. Buzz finally confronts Selena about their kiss, which she tries to dodge. He corners her and says yes, he’s attracted to her, but he can’t do anything about it. Selena then says she always thought he was attractive. Annie once again visits Holly and they discuss their similarities of loving children. They become friendly and bond over their pasts, with both of them asking each other to be friends as they hug and vow to get their lives back in order. Fletcher then comes in and Annie leaves. Fletcher surprises Holly with a day out of the facility with both him and Meg, which excites her. They go on a picnic and have a sweet bonding moment, with Fletcher saying he always thought of her and Holly saying she never moved his stuff at their house. They reminisce about their engagement and wedding, and then kiss. Fletcher then gets up to tell the nurse they’re ready to head back, but his wallet falls out of his pocket and Holly opens it and sees a picture of a woman. She asks who it is and he says it’s Meg’s teacher (Kate), who is so great with her, but he admits they got close in the beginning and he fell for her. Holly gets upset and accuses Fletcher of coming back only to clear his conscience before he runs off with this lady forever. He tells her that’s not true and his feelings for Holly all came back when he saw her and they kissed. But, he says he has to take Meg back to school and needs to come up with a plan to split his time somehow, and also figure out what he wants to do. But first, he says the priority is getting Holly better, which she then says she knows what she has to do. Fletcher and the nurse talk privately and as Fletcher turns around, he realizes Holly and Meg are gone! Fletcher runs to Frank at the police station and tells him they’ve disappeared, meanwhile we see Holly and Meg together at the park. But, as Fletcher is about to go search for them, Holly and Meg walk into the police station. She tells Fletcher that she realized running away would have been a big mistake, and Fletcher says just the hour they were gone was hard enough, he can’t imagine how Holly felt for a year. Holly tells him to go back with Meg to her school and make a life for her while she continues to get better, but Fletcher calls the teacher and tells her he has to stay in SF now. Holly asks why he did that and he said because he loves his wife.
  20. Haha right?? I'm so tempted, but part of me feels like it's a scam. I wonder if @DRW50 has heard of this site/offering. He's been around for a bit :)
  21. I stumbled across this website and curious if anyone knew about it or if it's been discussed on the SON boards before? Might be better to ask in a general soap thread since most soaps are available for purchase, but curious if this is a scam or legit. And if legit, how decent is the quality? Seems like this would be illegal to sell copies for profit, but maybe not? LOL. https://www.soapdvds.com/guidinglight
  22. Have Smitty/Martin always had a front door or was this new today? Always enjoy seeing Pamela! I wonder how Cady feels acting with Jon's onscreen lover haha. I'm going to hope and assume Cady and Jon are amicable. A slow week so far, for me...
  23. Whoever is Happy Camper, I thank you! 🤗
  24. Y'all have me excited for this, thanks for sharing!!! Btw, recaps coming later, but I just got to the very beginning of San Cristobel! Reva finds a mysterious ring with a royal crest on it... And I have NO idea that Jesse Sofer was on GL!!! I really liked him on ATWT during that year I watched.
  25. To add onto this... the version of May 3, 1999 in the Vault is missing the last 5 minutes of the episode. This YT version has those last 5 minutes, in case someone is able to upload this fuller version.
