  1. Listen to how stupid they sound! Although, missed opportunity not naming Jeannie "Shayla."
  2. Portmanteau, amalgam! Let's call the whole thing off! You're right though, used in the intended way, it's not offensive. It gets even more annoying when it's used for characters that haven't even interacted enough to warrant a following!
  3. I don't think it's ugly, at all. It's just a bit of a statement look to be used so often.
  4. Isn't that his possession suit?
  5. That's definitely a way to introduce new characters. They wouldn't be all incestuous either.
  6. To put it bluntly, they're stupid. Not only do they sound incredibly stupid, and they do, but some are just a reach to make happen! It also tends to take away a lot of agency from a character. It's like that's all they're seen for. Nevertheless, I find them grossly unappealing and annoying.
  7. Was she wearing something other than a damn blazer?!
  8. I thought that was a picture of Kate Gosselin!
  9. I think he could be a good writer, I just get overwhelmed with his pet writing.
  10. It's just kind of his go to storyline. I get that all writers do, but that's a little too specific and it's never different.
  11. Not ringing any bells, but I didn't start watching until '96. They could still do another.
  12. I just thought of another one! How about Bold and the Beautiful has big earthquake after 36 years! How have they not gone that route yet? Or for the sake of the soap gods, wildfires?!
  13. I have written a few soaps over past 25 years. One character I've always been attached to is Cali Claybourne, she's a bitch in the vein of Belle Clemens. She just bitch because she wants to be!
  14. You can do grounded stories that aren't boring, it's just that no one wants to write them! Quite frankly all the soaps are boring as hell right now. That's why I'm getting back into writing my own.
  15. It really couldn't hurt to create someone new for a change, or reinvent a character we haven't seen in a long time.
  16. What needs to happen is a really good main villain on any of the soaps. Someone who's not there you be redeemed and just have an evil reign of terror for a good while.
  17. They need to focus more on giving her a personality and then they can dress her accordingly.
  18. I haven't watched much the past few months, but I did like Cady in the role when I saw her the first time.
  19. I never much cared for Jennifer myself. She's always been so holier than thou. Now she just looks so matronly.
  20. Yay! A scene of JJ trying to act, so the while with that constant ready to cry face. At least it's justified now, I guess. I can't say that there's anything going on right now to keep my attention. From the casting to writing, it's all pretty bad right now. Unpopular Opinion: I miss the Langan DAYS. Aside from Virtual Eden, the show was can't miss almost every day.
  21. Well it's time to come off it!
  22. Right?!! Maybe she can get some edge now that she's been hurt. Not likely, but hey!
  23. So, the kind of stuff that people ate up in the 80s?!
