  1. In other news, Chris McKenna is looking real suave and fine in these Michael Jackson suits just in time to get killed off. Finola is in rare form too. With zero viable love interest! That has to change. As for Carly: Just bring back A.J., man. Recast again if you really can't make nice with Kanan. Even if I personally would bring back Sarah, LW is working so hard lately (though she always does) and the character is so lost. She deserves something more substantial and less tired than either Dayplayer Brennan or Sonny Round 30 (or God forbid, Valentin as Phase VII of Frank's James Patrick Stuart Forever Employment Plan). It's daunting when you realize Anna, Laura and Carly all need new men and new story. It would have to be phased in in sections given the overall larger canvas. But it's doable. (And yes, I'd still give Lucy more story on recurring and reunite her with Kevin, even if both remain recurring. But I'd possibly swap Kristina Wagner and Lynn on contract tbqh, and do more with Lucy than the current whatever.) Britt really needs Jason to co-sign a car while squatting upstairs and invoking issues with Obrecht and Nathan. No mention of Nina of course, because Nina has already said she would give her not only free room and board at the penthouse but most likely five to ten cars!
  2. I think most of that first month with Jason was PM though it took a few weeks for his name to go on it. You saw the difference immediately. IIRC we were told at the time he was already working over the scripts too. I'd still love to know more from the horse's mouth someday about what happened. The angle with Jason's feuding sons repeating Jason/A.J. is great but it was barely there. I do think Danny and Rocco are solid (especially Finn Carr) and interesting opposites who are close, and they should be given actual teen stories with new love interests or possibilities. Say sweet Rocco falls for a wild girl who wants overcompensating daredevil Danny, who in turn draws the attention of wallflower Georgie. It's an classic set of stories that rarely fail. I do think Liz and her family should be showcased, but that won't happen under this regime; the shitshow with Lucky and Liz's immediate reversion to being Nurse Jessie after Jonathan's exit/firing proves that. Nonetheless, if it were up to me I would obviously bring back HW's Jake for some serious story, and as for Aiden I might honestly scale back the SORAS a little and see how he cooks for a few more years, since my priorities would be other young people (who could also end up LGBT). Cameron I also might wait on, to see if William Lipton's streaming stardom flops and he needs a place to go. I want her sons on canvas and eventually active in story, but I don't want them thrown at just anything for the sake of it. But that's my failure of imagination, really. I don't know. Vanessa is at a certain age and it's steady work. I think if you gave her a decent schedule/pay and kept her with Maurice (and again, they would end up permanently married a la Mac and Rachel) that you could rebrand the show with her as one of the returning Faces of GH, and you have Sonny and Brenda as one of the foundational/tentpole couples going forward. She'd probably love that. That way the show doesn't take a hit from losing Maurice but Sonny gets downshifted while Brenda takes the bulk of their future story, VM has a dependable salary, everyone wins. And hey, if she does quit in two years you write them out together after all and take the risk. You'll still have gotten the bump from Brenda.
  3. I do love your story. For my own ideas though (which would now begin with Scorpio having left his co-workers a very detailed series of protocols on Sonny and how to break him, also involving certain crimes or more recent issues they can no longer ignore), I would just have Sonny on the street and destitute/presumed dead for awhile after certain events with the mob come to a head, and maybe literally give Mo 4-6 months off. Or block tape a handful of appearances. One would hope his mental health could handle the break from work. Either way, it would of course coincide with Brenda/VM. But I wouldn't write them out. Like I said, losing Mo would mean GH taking a crucial hit for better or worse and Vanessa can move audience. So they would reunite in a relatively swift timeframe once Sonny is properly broken and humbled, marry and that would become their new status quo. He would begin making classical Victor Newman moves in a white-collar way and take second seat to her stories. And in under two years (18 months or a year if you really want to stretch) all that can be settled and done. Whether Maurice could handle playing such a sea change without freaking out, or having a break from his very regular life schedule, remains to be seen. But it would ultimately keep him around and also allow him a lighter load.
  4. The angle with his sons was interesting but barely made it onscreen. What did make it onscreen was a lot of very faint dancing around LW's Carly (who Frank and Korte had tried before, and who they quickly realized again Steve has no chemistry with) and mostly just Jason puttering around that warehouse. That was it, there was nothing going on, and that's why it flopped. Followed by teasing him and Anna/Sasha after PM's exit/firing, which also flopped. That's why they broke the emergency glass and rehired KT.
  5. Sonny could pay for some of his crimes in some real way, for once. He could lose his empire and have to struggle to rebuild something. That's a story he has never done. Unlike all the boring shít he does everyday. There's a reason Steve's return flopped until he was put back with the Qs. It's because the mob trio stories where they're all the heroes are washed and everyone involved looks old and tired. It's not 2003. I don't care about Jagger but it's idiotic that they did the story where Sonny murders a federal agent and then abandoned it. Meanwhile Sonny is old, tired and incredibly boring. I'm sure they'll bring it up again in another year or two when they need some other plot point and pretend they planned it all along.
  6. I am idly curious how Tamara and work out together. But woof, those names.
  7. Bro, we've been here for two decades and have talked many of these shows to death. You have had an account here for almost a decade and a serious portion of your posting history (until your recent, nonetheless highly passive-aggressive charm initiative) has been taken up with crashing out over posters and having meltdowns over them not liking the same elements of this old show you do. It's an defunct soap opera with viewers who go back decades. The show itself has been off the air for 15 years. If you don't expect or want to read granular detail and highly subjective individual critique at this point, the problem is you.
  8. I talked a lot about this story when I was watching that season. I do think it's still very topical today, and well done (I think the great Bill Duke shot a few of those eps). But I wonder who was gunning for Baldwin and why they wanted him out so fast. I think it was the Dallas team coming in the following year who said their first marching orders from above were to kill Joshua and end the Empire Valley saga.
  9. A key example would be not just Wagger but Austin/Roger Howarth, lol. Over a year later after the story was long since abandoned they tossed in a few lines that Cyrus killed him.
  10. I hate it too. Michael briefly changed his name in 2014-15 after finding out about A.J.'s murder but tbh he should do it again. (Drew should also take back the name, for the power and influence.) Another great reason to bring A.J. back again - and have Michael having known for some time, allowing resentment to fester again - and open up al this stuff for drama. I am pragmatic about MB/Sonny. The fact is the show would take a hit to lose him, something several of us have discussed before. But there are ways to humble the character and mitigate his presence but keep him in story, in a modified role that gives him less heavy lifting and makes Mo less obviously struggling and lethargic everyday. That solution goes back to Brenda and VM but I'm pretty sure you've heard us all do this show in our heads dance before lol. And yes, they need to explore Drew's estrangements. To me that still goes back to the kids, or Sam. He raised Danny as his son for several years. He adored Jake and vice versa. That would at least add some layers to what should stay a clear villain.
  11. Until they invest in actual all-new contract characters for Michael, they're not taking him seriously as a major lead. A second dayplayer hooker is embarrassing. All because Frank doesn't want to fire more people he likes or rock the boat.
  12. And equally pointless to me.
  13. A waste, but hey, at least we have another dayplayer sex worker for Michael to romance for the low low contract price of $9.95.
  14. I think it was absolutely a firing they allowed her to play off as a 'mutual decision'/her choice. That's very common. I don't need to see Sasha for anything but a plot-oriented visit ever again.
  15. I assume we'll be seeing Donnell again sooner than later. They have a find in that kid and likely know it by now.
  16. I lived through the first month or two of Passions in real time. This show's first year has been light work by comparison.
  17. It really doesn't matter. This show has brought back far more dead people.
  18. That would've been wild.
  19. I think Hayley is freaking out because she can see what's going down with Bill and Dani and realizes she may have a narrowing window.
  20. OLTL of course was the vanguard (and I am still so proud of them) but I think DAYS is the only US soap that has gone this far with it, for better or worse re: their character choice. I do love it.
  21. Leave me all the way out of this. I am not your problem round here.
  22. Between this stuff and the Kat/Tomas strip scene last week this show really is making GH look like a nunnery convention. That show used to let people fúck for sport.
  23. I seriously fear Frank will go all in and try to make Valentin and Carly happen next. Anything to keep JPS on the show. As I've said elsewhere, there aren't enough strap-ons in Port Charles to cover the overhead.
  24. Not if Josh Kelly can help it, lol. Dude has been going almost as hard as me for Cody/Tracy at every press availability he gets in the last year.
  25. I mean, I do think the recent Martin/Smitty, etc. content is getting pretty edgy for daytime as is. Only DOOL has rode the line more with two men onscreen. As for cross-orientation I remember the BJ implication with Dorian and David on OLTL, but the Colby/Pete scene on AMC 2.0 went even harder. This is somewhere between. I will add I think BC and MM are really charming and fun together these days. Claybon has hit a good groove and they clearly enjoy writing for them.
