  1. I thought Alicia did a great job and made the role her own and popular with her in it. She had big shoes to fill and she made it work. But SMG is gonna be Kendall again, period. No doubt about it. She was a force, iconic in the public consciousness in a way Alicia can't touch. While I'll always appreciate and honor AM, SMG is 100% going to be cemented as Kendall again and that is surreal to realize after all this time.
  2. Belle has been aged up into a hausfrau bc Martha Madison has always read too old for the part and is not a great actress. Beemer is serviceable but a clone of Bo. What a waste of generational characters - not that Shawn or Belle ever had much personality beyond 'white, under 25 and in love with each other'.
  3. Rafe is a super obnoxious guy they shoehorned into the show, though. And on paper, for me, it's just another cop. Thrilling! I'm not saying Cosgrove was any great shakes but at least they had some fans. They have never invested in Kristian solo, whereas Bo soared with both Billie and Carly.
  4. Because they worship Galen Gering BTS and banked on those two being gangbusters.
  5. They never found a man to match Kristian outside of Bo, because KA came back very hard and tough in her energy. No one cut it and they never really tried IMO. Greenlee, the answer was obvious - David. It was a pairing both actors repeatedly lobbied for over the years until they all too briefly got it. I understood going back to the thing with her and Ryan initially for a triangle with Kendall, but painting Ryan and Greenlee as true love's course didn't work and never would.
  6. What in the hell is the "Mystery of Cobbler's Island"?
  7. Meanwhile:
  8. I always found Walt Willey's voice so sexy and him so dashing and lovely even when the character was being a wet blanket. I think the stories failed and disrespected Jack, but I always loved Willey.
  9. Toussaint is one of those parts of the TV and film firmament - you see them everywhere yet they rarely get their regard. I'd seen her onscreen through most of my childhood but her recent run on She-Ra as the villain Shadow Weaver was benchmark work even as 'just' a voice performer. I'm glad she has a new perch on Queen's show.
  10. I only thought to put this in the Y&R classic thread, but it def holds true here: I have been rewatching some early 90s AMC lately, including stuff before I came in in '91 and '92 (I started around '93) and James Kiberd is sexier than I remember. He had that edge on LOV as well. I'm glad he's had success both in art and theater in recent years. And Michael Nader and John Callahan were incredibly hot as well as strong, dashing male presences. They were when I grew up watching too, but seeing the earlier material drives it home as well.
  11. Jerry Douglas was so suave, commanding, handsome, noble and authoritative and yes, sexy. Cutting John as the patriarch was one of the dumbest decisions this show ever made.
  12. Oof, I had no idea she did that and I still barely understand who those people are.
  13. Can anyone illuminate for me a bit the circumstances surrounding Agnes' (according to Wikipedia) return to the HW slot in late '89? What did that entail? I always assumed she'd done the Cindy/AIDS and Laura hit and run stories, but I guess that's not the case. I didn't realize she'd been (officially, anyway) gone as long as she had, and where her hand guided things or didn't. My kingdom for @EricMontreal22's return...
  14. He's gonna be a ghost or a vision, John. I am almost positive. Folks give GH too much credit for being barely passable at best and then always act surprised when the show continues to stay bad no matter who comes onboard.
  15. Sometimes it's the show, sometimes it's just you. You guys build up these returns into something bigger than they are when nine times out of ten it's just some ghost or hallucination. It's always possible there could be more to it than a guest spot, but jumping to 'he is Lucky' has no basis in reality.
  16. Dude, no. He is coming on to play Ghost Zander for some dumb vision or something.
