Good scene in a bad story
I think it's some of her best work ever, and it's so underrated and forgotten today. She was spellbinding in those deranged attic wedding scenes.

Doctor Who
This appears to be confirmation both are introduced in Gatwa's first solo special, likely around this time next year:

@DRW50 @Faulkner I like it, it's suave. Presumably they've done this now as a night shoot is apparently planned for tonight or tomorrow. I do like what Gatwa calls the Gallifreyan nail tattoos(?).

And now, the worst people in the world square off: Recent Musk acolyte Bari Weiss and Elon are fighting. I honestly don't know how much longer this is sustainable. But I've said that before.

I guess I'll drag my way through S2, though I hear it's not great. I love SNW and LD and I think DSC has improved a lot, though it's still very up and down for me. I am excited about S3 of Picard. Are we thinking Wesley here @AdelaideCate007? I always wondered if they meant to imply that in the original show. I am over the moon that the new season apparently intends to focus on Picard and Beverly's relationship, which was too often dropped in the TNG era bc of non-serialized story mandates (despite a plan to potentially marry them off in the final season). This is classic Marina. She's such a pistol.- All My Children Tribute Thread
They were absolutely flirting with testing Laura Allen's Laura and Bianca early on. I thought they had very good chemistry frankly; LA had a unique energy onscreen as a sporty jock, was not convincing with men, and her subsequent role after they moved her away from Bianca as a spoiler for Leo and Greenlee was embarrassing and terrible. AFAIK, Lena and Bianca's kiss was the first lesbian kiss on daytime. It was very heavily hyped and Eden Riegel and Olga Sosnovska were a hot topic among a considerable portion of the audience for a moment in time. There was a lot of media coverage. I didn't think the story was very good but I understood the hype. But AMC didn't value Sosnovska/Lena at all and let her walk, because while they recognized how much of a huge favorite Eden and Bianca were with the audience and wanted to keep using her heavily in story, they also wanted to de-sexualize her as much as possible at that time - hence raping her, reducing her to a brood mare for pregnancy and children, and revolving her storylines largely around her child by a man rather than romance. This was also far from the last time LGBT storylines on daytime have largely revolved around a gay character having sex with a hetero partner and having a baby with them (Fish on OLTL, Will on DAYS) or simply having baby stories that could easily be given to str8 characters that have no sexual content (Brad and Lucas' baby switch, GH). It's what American daytime is most comfortable doing with them, fitting them into a str8 story mold. Reese was a waste of potential, and I feel bad for both Eden and Tamara. They could've done the messy bisexual storylines they'd plotted there down the road (including, it was rumored, Bianca sleeping with Ryan to get revenge on Reese!) without sabotaging Bianca's new romance immediately. Elliot was Josh Waleski. He'd changed his name.- The Media/Journalism Thread
Semafor continues to simply traffic in gossip and its quest to be Politico Jr., but this is worth reporting given recent drama at the Post.- General Hospital: December 2022 Discussion Thread

If he's healthy and able and it won't affect his IRL recovery I'd have TC back in a minute. If it's a concern then absolutely recast. Disney/ABC took Michael Nader back for some truly bad conduct at least once or twice, and Nader did return (under different management) many years later on AMC 2.0. There's always a way back if an actor recovers and redeems themselves. But I am open to a good recast. These temps don't cut it and neither do tired names like JV (who I like in certain roles) or Branson.- NETFLIX: "Harry and Meghan"

I'm well aware. The problem is that in media this began long ago. Since the Burton films, WB has leaned on Batman as the only character they care about or respect for decades. They are ashamed of most of their characters, especially Superman, and have been since attempts at a Superman film in the '90s. They've always tried to simply remold the other characters into Batman-lite in feature attempts since (Man of Steel, etc). And when in doubt they simply make more Batman or Batman-adjacent movies. In doing so they've ceded any color or variety in their films to Marvel. As a result, generations of children worldwide now know and love Captain America and Steve Rogers; he is their Superman. And Superman, who deserves equal and separate treatment to Batman, is an also-ran. He just gets more grimdark movies with Batman - directed by Zack Snyder.- Superman: Legacy
I don't care at this point. I haven't cared in ages, let alone when they first rebooted the comics with Nu52 which drove me away from the print books. DC is now a poisoned chalice. I used to love the company's work but it's a complete debacle onscreen, and the comics are a mess to me. I'll always love the characters but in terms of film they should let it lie for some years. The Black Adam mess and the Henry Cavill come here/go away stuff is amateur hour, and that's not even getting into Ezra Miller or the Zack Snyder groupies. The Batman was good, but to paraphrase David Lynch a good standalone Batman movie and a nickel will get you a cup of coffee. It doesn't amount to a larger whole.- Superman: Legacy
