You're not allowed to read my posts before my edits! 🙃 I think Mark Lawson gave a very visceral and heartfelt performance on OLTL but he had no purpose on GH other than for Frank to give more OLTL alumni jobs. Kelly I think has real charisma and fits in better. It's the indistinguishable Willow/Sasha unit I can't tolerate, along with cryin' Dex.

I forgot the weird reason they gave why poor Dev lost his accent, lol. I loved Mark Lawson on OLTL as Brody and I'll defend his honor. But he had no need to be on GH. Josh Kelly OTOH has a lot of possibility, Cody was just poorly introduced. ETA: Please ignore the fact that I typed 'Josh Kelly' twice while defending these two actors not being interchangeable.

Falcon Crest
I talked about it in the Dallas thread a bit over the last year. I am watching bits and pieces of it here and there as fluff and will watch the dream season in tandem with Knots S7 to examine the Lorimar creative swap with KL closely, but that's about it.

I have been wanting Sonny and Alexis to at least hook up again for years. They could play it like a 'secret' affair a la Something's Gotta Give, lol. It can be a transitional thing for both and also allow the characters to openly evaluate their past and relationship in an intelligent way.

The series overall.

The issue with all of those couples (except maybe Roger and Holly) is that there were times they were, and times they really weren't. Very early in Claire Labine's GH run, actually, there was a very, very subtle and smart nod to L&L's past. I linked it here.

Michael and Maxie both need to go for a long stretch, but as I've said before I'd still put Spinelli back with Ellie and leave him on recurring. That was actually an example of a character evolving and growing beyond past weaknesses, and Ellie helped him raise his daughter while Maxie remained a total fùck-up and Spinelli left the mob behind.

Falcon Crest
Yeah, I had just recommended @Darn watch most of the first three seasons of KL, because I think there is way too much in those seasons that is important for the character and community fabric of later KL and informs the characters and relationships, especially the families and the parents and kids. But I definitely told him to dump more than a few lol. I might idly browse FC but I am not really interested in committing to that. Dallas I skip around with and browse a lot for the reasons I have enumerated at length in my posts in that thread; I find it repetitive.

I felt the build-up under JFP and Megan was pretty bad, but in years since I think it's a mistake their relationship was never revisited. It's age-appropriate, for one thing. And Sonny was simply in Alexis' blood for years after despite all her moaning and complaining; like Diane but to a much more intense degree, she could never fully walk away. I assume the abandonment of even the possibility of a revisit is because Guza found it verboten. I have always meant to go back and examine exactly how he handled the dissolution of that relationship, right around the time Carly 'died'. IIRC he was ghostwriting the show almost immediately after Sonny and Alexis slept together, before his name was back on it. It showed (in a good way). Yeah, I've never understood her turning her nose up. Diane spent years happily representing Sonny's organization. At least now she admits she had 'fun' doing it.

Honey, life is too short for that. The times were the times, deeply imperfect though they were. I still love Luke and Laura, I still find Roger and Holly's relationship fascinating, I still was very into Todd and Blair and I have a lot of fondness for Téa. What are you gonna do, it's TV history in motion. It doesn't mean we want the show revived as Two Rapists to Live in the 2020s. That being said, I hope you caught Alanis covering the Yellowjackets theme in a recent ep of that show. I heard the first notes and knew that voice anywhere.

A little Diane has always gone a long way for me, don't get me wrong lol. I just don't need Alexis moved back into that sphere. I can handle Diane in doses but I also don't want her paired with Scorpio (and we were recently discussing how Tristan Rogers seems less than enthused as well) but their pairing, like Alexis with Gregory, seems dictated entirely by their age range. I was more interested in Scorpio being re-paired with Anna, or his on-off flirtation with the married Olivia which sort of emulates LLC's IRL crush as a fan. I also think they should give Hailey Pullos more of a chance with this new angle where Molly is the ADA, but that's me. So of course they're instead giving her yet another baby/illness story, because babies still seem to be the only thing ABC will easily greenlight for their focus on their perception of the Facebook-loving senior audience.

I think the Invader thing has surprisingly reinvigorated Alexis who I found deeply stale as a character beforehand. It's an actual evolution. Pushing her with the ailing Gregory is not working but it's clear they're not going to invest much else in her atm. What's still bizarre for me is the insistence on making Scorpio DA, and telling us Robert got his law degree somewhere. It just seems like a very lame device to keep TR rooted on the show and it isn't needed. Just let either him or Anna run the PCPD again and let the other one be a local WSB liaison, the parade of Jordans are terrible.

It's a good idea, but after so many strong years in primetime I can't see Shemar ever agreeing to return to the rotted husk of CBS Daytime full time unless they were seriously revamping Y&R with an eye towards a streaming platform. They clearly are not doing that.

It's been a hard enough past year losing Jerry verDorn, Kathryn Hays, Lisa Brown, Liz Hubbard, etc. That march of time isn't going to get any easier for soap fans, so I cherish the folks we still have. I still worry about Susan Lucci, who had serious heart issues not long ago. Or Erika Slezak and Robin Strasser though they seem reasonably fit (Erika, as I expected, has admitted to hating retirement and is having a surprisingly robust career in primetime network guest spots, Hallmark, etc. while Robin recently guest-starred on Kristen Alderson's Twitch livestream, where Kristen taught her to play Mario Kart - Kristen drove Robin cross-country to get her COVID vaccine.)

Eric Braeden is in treatment for the early stages of bladder cancer. He put out an emotional video about it not long ago.
