  1. Brenda will be back someday. I have no doubt of that. I think Rena is excellent and adds a great deal to the show. But if you can't re-pair her with Ned I struggle to find a place for her on contract. It would remind me of when they tried to put Lois with Lorenzo Alcazar as a C-player in the 2000s, it was embarrassing. I suppose it could be like the UK soaps where they bring back powerhouses often not beholden to supercouples, and just pair them with whoever and often it can work out. But our shows are different, sometimes for better or worse. I think any new story or man for Lois would come off as an also-ran. I also don't think GH or Frank Valentini would invest in giving Lois a major new story or strong enough new male lead to justify it. I think they'd give her some recurring dude like that oaf Yuri. And Rena and her talent would deserve a lot more.

Nice to have this confirmed, but I question if colorization is right for this:
  3. If that's true that's pathetic. They should offer her a contract but Frank doesn't seem to want to add vets too popular for him to control. That being said, I still don't see a point in Lois being there nonstop (versus regular stints) unless it's with Ned, so that's the catch-22.
  4. There's no point in keeping Lois at this point without re-pairing her with Ned, IMO. It would stick out like a sore thumb with Olivia around. And that reunion can't happen, so I'm fine for these stints.
  5. I highly doubt Rena is interested in being back long-term (or playing a romance with Wally again). But who knows.

From one of the new featurettes on the new Whoniverse hub - Tennant watches BTS footage of the Logopolis regeneration.
  7. This is wonderful, thank you.
  8. It's not that deep. I said it before and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Lilley offered her services for the memorial and DAYS foolishly used it as an attempt to leverage and con her into agreeing to a longer return. When she declined Alarr or whoever punitively recast. Stupid as hell.

A lovely new promo (featuring K9 and Company!).

The BBC iPlayer's main Who hub is now online (as shown above), and the Tales from the TARDIS are now being kindly uploaded to YT. These kind uploads may be missing a small bit - I can't seem to find the line fans are talking about where Ace says she has a secret: 'the best is yet to come,' which many are taking as a hint to the Ace spinoff RTD has long wanted to do. But who knows. I'm hearing lovely things about the Five/Tegan and Steven/Vicki short.
  11. Tyler was in recovery despite a lot of pitfalls and stumbles over the last year. It sounds like his death was a result of the outstanding major medical issues he's discussed in recent years, which I assume also had some connection to his addictions.
  12. Tyler was so talented, even when he visibly was struggling for years on and off onscreen. Even when he was at times checked out or impaired, there was a core of integrity and intellect to Nikolas as a character that no one else has ever touched. I was touched by his blunt honesty and candor in his recent interview given his BTS issues in the last decade, and I always have hoped he would get well enough to return someday when it was right for him. I just hope he's at peace.

  14. That's the Frank Valentini way. That editing style is based on a philosophy he (and I'm sure many network execs) began adhering to years ago - they think shorter scenes are preferred for the younger demographic's attention span.
  15. I need to binge and catch up, I'm once again a few weeks behind. I did like the show zeroing in on the Varga-Murphys, who I think are the most compelling material so far.

It was a surprise for me too. I do hope they finally animate DMP - such a great saga, in an early experimental period for the show. More from Russell:

The notable absence of Tom makes me wonder if it's his health, his usual strangeness or if they have something else planned. (The absence of Carole Ann Ford also makes me think Susan is still going to appear in the anniversary episodes.) I never thought I'd see a Jamie/Zoe, Steven/Vicki or Peri/Six reunion in the 2020s.

@DRW50 This one's for you: Tales of the TARDIS. New shorts featuring classic companions and Doctors, written by RTD and co. (including one of the writers on those beloved Blu-Ray shorts with the classic cast). Yes, that is Jo with Clyde from SJA. The episodes in question:
  19. Studio 60 aired to completion for 22 episodes. Once it flopped they just burned off the last six episodes after several months' hiatus in the summer. In any event this is all wildly off-topic.
  20. Donna, this is once again not true. The entire season of Studio 60 aired.
  21. This one (and Richard Moll!) are both shocks. Given his history I had to wonder what happened with Perry.
