  1. At least they didn't try to recast Joe again. It was a big mistake to get rid of Dane Witherspoon to begin with, and Mark Arnold was just miscast.
  2. Bill Kirchenbauer confirmed all that in a podcast interview found here: http://justmyshow.blogspot.com/2010/04/jms-interviews-bill-kirchenbauer-of.html?m=1
  3. I imagine Mac was a father/grandfather figure for certain members of the audience. There was also no doubt how universally beloved Doug Watson was by cast and crew alike. The show had to go on, but his passing left a hole that was never filled for its remaining decade on the air.
  4. This one takes me back to my childhood:
  5. I don't know, but I personally found Ted and Laken so boring together. I also think that so many people picked up on the chemistry between Marcy and A and just ran with it.
  6. Thanks. I'll still take the Qs and their pizza over Kung Fu Chick's Thanksgiving dream episode in 2002. At least the Qs were characters the audience liked!!!
  7. I LOVED this show as a kid...and it had a terrific theme song performed by Bill Medley. This should have been a TGIF staple for several years.
  8. IIRC, Thanksgiving 1989 was very emotional as it was the first holiday without Mac (and Doug Watson). Rachel ended up doing the toast in his stead.
  9. How many years did they do the bit with the Qs always having to order pizza for Thanksgiving?
  10. I have it on good authority that a prayer group near where I live ends every meeting with pleas that he will be quiet and keep off Twitter! But I get what you're saying. He can't see the forest for the trees.
  11. At least we always have the reruns...every single day!! 😉
  12. No. Marcy Walker once said in an interview that Eden was supposed to have a Romeo and Juliet type story with Warren. Cruz was supposed to be with Santana.
  13. Here are a couple of articles about it: http://articles.latimes.com/1995-06-24/entertainment/ca-16551_1_christopher-reeve https://www.google.com/amp/ew.com/article/1995/09/15/dismissal-crisis/amp/
  14. Thanks, @Nothin'ButAttitude and @DRW50.
  15. John Allen Nelson was one of the biggest wastes of talent ever on SB. I never understood why they never did more with him.
  16. I have never understood why Scott DeFreitas wasn't used in the last year's of ATWT, especially after marrying Maura West. Does he even act anymore?
  17. I have no doubt that he would chase after Chynna Phillips (who also suffered from the fallout of her sister Mackenzie's sexual abuse at the hands of their father). That's his MO...go after gorgeous blonds. Good for her that she would have nothing to do with him. I've always liked Chynna, and now I like her more. I am not siding with Trump on this issue, but Lavar Ball isn't exactly Mr. Maturity himself. It was his son who disgraced his team, his school and his country by being stupid and shoplifting in CHINA. Mr. Ball is also widely disliked in the NBA, where his other son plays. I swear, my young nephews have more maturity than these guys.
  18. Justin Hartley on Jimmy Fallon last night:
  19. I'm trying to remember what year it was when the Kane/Montgomery family and varied friends and foes had a Thanksgiving that turned out to be a disaster. Myrtle led the Thanksgiving prayer: "Lord, if ever any group needed Thy blessing, it's us." Anyone else remember this?
  20. That's sadder than any story on a soap opera. 😢
  21. Exactly!! How I miss the old guard of SVU...Munch, Cragen, etc.
  22. Also...SO tired of the war of words between Trump and Lavar Ball. I keep expecting to hear him say, "I know you are, but what am I?" over and over again.
  23. We knew this was coming... http://people.com/tv/law-order-svu-harvey-weinstein/amp/?xid=amprecirc4
  24. It's cancelled already? Why am I not surprised? Yes, Linda Lavin always seems to play the nagging Jewish mother on TV. Yet, she played the part to chilling effect years ago on an episode of L&O: CI. Outside of Alice Hyatt and before her, the volatile Det. Janice Wentworth on Barney Miller, she always does seem to play the same character on TV. Judging by her sheer volume of stage work, she's capable of so much more.
  25. Yes, I remember the recasting of the daughter. (I think the original actress went off to film a movie.) That was Ayda Field as the weathergirl; she had played Angela on DAYS from 2000-01 and went on to marry Robbie Williams.
