Y&R/B&B/GL Vault Updates
Just tried it, it is the right link but it does appear to be down again. Remember guys, this isn't like YouTube or something, it's one machine tied to the owner's computer, so he could be having any number of issues with his internet or equipment that makes it go down temporarily. It always comes back up eventually.

Old Ted had different chemistry with everyone. Heat with Nicole, fatherly bond with his kids, and then surprised me how scary he was with Leslie. Agree I originally thought he and Nicole would reunite but no more.

BTG: August 2025 Discussion Thread
Interesting. I was thinking about that when Peaches came with the DNA proof that she'd matched samples from Leslie and Barbara's hairbrushes or something, and then Anita called her lawyer and they confirmed it all. That certainly wouldn't fly legally... there's no proof that sample was actually from Barbara. If this were Bill Bell's Y&R, they would have spent a week having Leslie petition a court to exhume Barbara's body, lol. It felt like BTG was trying to satisfy both the savvy soap fans who want DNA confirmation but without dragging it out too long for the newer fans. It is crazy this particular reveal was so rushed. This is a huge shift in the canvas. First of all it would have been better to have Leslie face the consequences of her actions first, then have the Duprees do something unfair to her, and then drop this bombshell when she's at her lowest and we're rooting for her (shades of Jill Foster or Sally Spectra). As I was falling asleep last night I was trying to re-write it in my head to make it tighter but still something that could play out as a short-term arc, maybe 4-6 weeks. Peaches would come to town and we'd establish her adversarial relationship with Leslie. We'd learn a few episodes later about the trust. Meanwhile, Anita would be contacting her lawyers looking for Barbara's family so they could secure the rights to Barbara's vocals to lay them over the Articulettes. We, the audience, would figure it out well before the characters and that's the joy of soaps. Peaches would dribble out information and Leslie would learn about Barbara's sister who was on her deathbed, the last heir. Leslie would go visit her and learn the tragic secret of how Barbara died. She'd be angry. She'd get a lawyer... maybe Tomas, maybe a new character... who would represent her with the trust and negotiating for the vocal rights. Eva would be digging into her grandmother's past, find some old diaries where she talks about Dante (and maybe a one night stand with a civil rights legend passing through town...?) and start to piece things together... Anita would learn Barbara has a daughter and wants to meet her, but the lawyer insists she remain anonymous, and Anita is respectful, feeling guilty and thinking the family blames her for the suicide. They finally sign a deal and plan a big concert/launch party with Barbara's heir agreeing to attend... Anita is thrilled and hoping to make peace... and THAT'S when Leslie reveals herself. I do love the show, so engaging in this kind of spec is just fun, not trying to diss the writers.

ARTICLE: ‘Desperate Housewives’ Creator Marc Cherry Details Evolution Of Writing Career On ‘Soapy Hosted By Rebecca Budig And Greg Rikaart’ (EXCLUSIVE)
I loved Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids but I'm not sure that satirical vibe would work for daytime 5 days a week. I love the idea that we're even talking as if a new soap were a possibility.

I forgot about that. JG will have to start mentioning the Newmans having an offscreen elevator so he can compete with BTG's production values.

I'm thinking he could have had a one night stand and not even known it was Barbara. We'll see. They have been dropping hints about Vernon never being capable of cheating and Eva could never be a Dupree. They could be red herrings though. What I like about the show is you can go back to prior dialogue and find Easter eggs you had no idea were important (like Leslie mentioning brownies to Martin).

Did you see where Cane said "this looks like the same train but the couch is actually a different color?" How embarrassing, how do the actors make it through! 🤣

I'm behind and just got up to where Christine came back from Chance's "funeral." I burst out laughing when she said it was a full military funeral and that everyone was touched by Dominick's salute... JG, you don't get credit for coming up with those heart-tugging visuals, if you just narrate them, what the hell. 😅

Leslie is either going to end up being Vernon's daughter or having an affair with him.

That makes all the sense in the world! If it's optional, people really can't complain, haha. It would probably be ideal to have some different options like PayPal or Venmo, just to make it as easy as possible for those who already have those apps. Good catch, thanks. I deleted the duplicate.

I hated how June just insisted on pushing past their boundary and got what she wanted and how she acted like they were abandoning her, which she literally did to them. If they keep it messy, I'm invested, but I don't want them to turn her into a saint. I actually wish the story showed more of Regina's POV because I think your niece and nephew that you loved disappearing to a closed adoption is really horrific and traumatic.

I thought this at first, but I think they addressed it adequately today. Last week it seemed like they were saying the money has been sitting there for 50 years or however old Leslie is, which was bugging me because Barbara's family was poor and needed the money at the time. Today Peaches (is this her actual name?) said the money actually did pass through to Barbara's heirs, and it has now reached the last person in the line, Barbara's sister who I guess died childless, so Leslie is the only heir. So the family did receive and, presumably, spent the money, but whatever interest it earned plus Anita replenishing the funds every six months means there's still plenty left (but maybe it's enough to be comfortable but not mega rich, we'll see where they go with that). I need someone with photoshop skills to put that wig on Samantha.

As it's been said, it was Victoria, but there was no big set up. Nikki and Jack were in the house arguing (this was during the fallout of her learning he only married her to get Jabot back) and she kept saying she had to go, because Victoria was ready to go to the pool. She didn't realize Victoria was already outside playing, and slipped into the water. Jack heard her calling out as he was leaving. Those were some of the last scenes played by Ashley Nicole Milian.
