Y&R/B&B/GL Vault Updates
Thank you, I am aware there have been people uploading large batches of B&B upgraded episodes. I don't have time to sort through them all, so I could delete if someone tells me exactly which folders/episodes to delete, otherwise I don't trust myself not to delete something that was important, because some episodes had various problems like missing music and things, and I don't want to delete the wrong ones. I don't have the episode either. Thanks for these corrections, please keep posting them so I can delete/clean up as you watch. There's a lot of duplicates in GL, you can also let us know if one was more complete or better quality so I can delete the extras. Thanks for uploading!!! I made the corrections. I've also uploaded a few random GL episodes that weren't in the Vault. Not sure if they post here, but there's someone named machineguy97 whose attempt in the Y&R Vault did not go through.

He's dead on the show. She was just saying her instinct was to call him in this situation, which was impossible. She was drawing a comparison between her situation and Luke when he was under mobster Frank Smith's thumb and not in control of his own life (the night Luke raped Laura, he had been ordered to put a hit on someone and wanted to commit suicide... I'm sure someone knows the history better than me). I actually wonder if this scene was somehow added in last minute after Geary died, otherwise it's quite the coincidence.

I love Drew's swooning face when she blows smoke up his ass. He really buys it, and I think, even loves her. Ouch at Brad's fairly accurate list of people Jason puts above Britt. I don't even think he mentioned Jason's kids. Accurate. (Danny might rate above Sonnys lesser children, like Avery).

I can't remember the last time a soap did a reveal that I was invested in and didn't know the outcome before watching. At least a decade! Probably much more. I was sure she didn't do it, because she got arrested. Love it. If I'm a juror, since Drew is fine with her, I am too. Not guilty! Alexis killed it in court (oh, I LOVED her paralegal and that folder). And in spite of the reveal, I think Chase was right, lol. The case is weak. I like that Dante is questioning himself. He does have a blind spot for Michael and Sonny. Katelyn M is amazing. She was great on the stand. Never been a fan of CM but he has been cracking me up with his backseat driver antics and reactions and now the breakdown (but the content of what he was saying was kind of valid?). Unpopular opinion, would be nice if Rory Gibson showed any reaction other than smug face. Hope Willow gets away with it and then gets Michael next. Aunt Liesl would be proud. Interesting getting Gio involved at the last minute, doing something that might have betrayed Michael. Kind of wild that Michael is nearly implicated in a murder and Sonny is all zen, and Carly and Jason aren't going nuts and having Spinelli frantically hacking every camera in town to find evidence against Willow. Different times.

Did we get a glimpse of the elusive "Victor's men" today?! The whole episode felt weird. The actors are capable but these were like speeches from a movie or a novel... all the women throwing themselves at you, how you like the rough ones...because this storyline never happened onscreen, nor did the supposed intense love story between Noah and Sienna. All basically new characters, brought in way at the end of a long story arc for the climax, and likely all dropped as quickly as they came in. Just bizarre storytelling. The ending there felt a bit like a nod to the latest season of Dexter.

1998 should be season 27. Anyway, it's up in the Vault now (main folder, under paisoaps, the name of the uploader). And the next episode 9/14/98 is under under The Young & Restless Vault/Full Episodes/1998/September (shockingly for Y&R, that month is pretty much intact so it is possible to follow the rest of the story for a while).

There is no excuse to just drop episode 200 with less than 24 hours notice because they randomly changed "seasons" mid-week on a national holiday. This is wild considering they have thrown up so many random repeats over the year and actually had a new one on January 1 and then disappeared it overnight. This wouldn't fly with primetime. People should complain.

Y&R: December 2025 Episode Rankings and Overall Stats
Thanks! Interesting to compare year end counts with GH. Looks like GH still has it top stars on a 3 episode a week guarantee and YR tops out at 2.5. You would therefore expect YR to have a bigger breadth of cast, more actors appearing less often and changing it up. But no. They have significantly less total cast members. This accounts for all the episodes with 5 or 6 characters total, just sitting and talking. It really adds up. And when you look through the recurring characters, most of them had absolutely zero story, they are just there for the sake of being there.

I was annoyed CBS.com didn't have yesterday's show since it was preempted here. You can't expect people to watch on less than 24 hours notice, what the hell. I worry a lot of people who got behind during slow periods won't pick it back up. FWIW reddit found a workaround where you can see season 1 through a Paramount plus free one week trial via Amazon and you don't need prime. I have not personally tried this so YMMV.

Agree the NYE episode was really good. Other shows could learn that the two people in a room talking setup can actually still be riveting (and can still use varied sets!). I can't stand Valentin and Carly individually but they're actually interesting together. Poor Britt just wanted to hook up and blow off steam (and Jason still owes her from the time she got dolled up in her hotel room only for him to announce he was marrying Carly) and Jason was looking at her with his puppy dog eyes all "let me save your life" lol. She doesn't want an emotional attachment while he apparently has been celibate for a while and wants something deep (but not so deep that he can't get out if Sonny, Michael, or Carly need him). There must be a happy medium!

ALL: What do you hope for soaps in 2026?
BTG: Better pacing, more "show" and not "tell." Hopefully season 2 has a budget for some modest sets and location shooting as part of tight story arcs. I like the day to day character work but they need more purpose to the storylines. More soap vets with some gravitas, not just hiring middle-aged good looking guys. I like that they had a mostly newbie cast and they've settled in after a year, but next time they cast a key character, let's see someone who will really bring it. B&B: It is what it is, and does not claim to be anything else... I don't have high expectations, but I'd like to see them carry some storylines through without abruptly ending and restarting them on a loop. Like, your villain gets miraculously released from jail and actually sticks around and mixes it up with everyone else instead of immediately doing the same things and getting killed/locked up again. Y&R: I don't see a need to give specific notes, it needs a complete overhaul. They need showrunners with intelligence who care, who will fight for it, and it's just not going to happen. GH: It's pretty good, just stay away from clones and memories on USB and freezing the world. I'm low key terrified how cringe the "Faison final project" could be. I have my own personal preferences which characters/couples I would prefer to see, but they do a good job balancing a huge cast.

Heh, did you catch the other day when they pretended Faith was at Sharon's house? (looked it up, 12/19). Noah and Sienna and were all "Oh, isn't it nice that Faith was here! Too bad she had to leave already! But it was so nice to meet her, she's sweet! Now she left with her security detail!" WTAF. The old school way of not mentioning unseen characters was actually better. They over-explain so much, it's crazy. I didn't need to be told Claire was sooo busy wrapping presents that she couldn't come to Billy's house. I would not expect Claire to be sitting in on Billy's visit with his kids, cause she isn't one of them.

Lord, the way JG scrolled wikipedia to come up with the Victor/Nikki and Jack/Diane Christmas gifts. And what was with the Sally Emmy bait speech to Victoria, of all people? And it just droned on and on and on.

Michael Easton portrays the dead dead Shawn, kidnaps Lauren and chains her to either a sewer or a small room filled with garbage, as Michael coordinates the search at Crimson Lights. Esther wipes down the tables, looking appropriately concerned. Lauren is rescued and the couple has a romantic reunion at the GCAC suite, which Phyllis barges in on. All agree Phyllis is a wonderful friend.
