  1. That is a really good point. I remember in one of JMW's early eps, when Ronn Moss was playing Ridge, they were at a board meeting and she was saying "dad, take your shirt off, you're so hot" so they do have a similar sick vibe as Ridge and Stephanie (but of course, without the layered writing and good acting).
  2. Would be cool to get NYE 1981 (the Nikki/Victor first real kiss) as well.
  3. Brooke deserves what she gets at this point! She's fighting to get the company back for a man who just degraded her daughter and runs to bed with another woman every time they have a tiff.
  4. I have come around to wanting Brooke to seduce Finn. I can't tolerate Hope's character being assassinated more than it has been and I don't want Steffy to have something on her. Brooke dgaf, she's done it all, and NOTHING would make Steffy and Taylor's heads explode more.
  5. Preach!!! Watched Friday's. That Brooke/Ridge scene was one of the best B&B had in years. The writing was good, reminded me of the stuff Mulcahey used to write. Yeah, KKL was great and didn't overdo it, it was a quiet rage... "your mother used to call me that." This scene could work for a viewer who's watched since day 1 or someone who's never seen the show before because it's a relatable situation at the shock and disgust of him using those words about her daughter. Brooke comes off as having the class and patience of a saint. She didn't even confront him when he called Hope a bitch at the office, waited til they got home. And then for Ridge to say Hope is a slut because she's had 3 or 4 boyfriends in her whole life, and for Brooke to NOT throw all of Steffy's indiscretions in his face, but to just quietly and sincerely defend her daughter as a mother and contributor... talk about "when they go low, we go high!" The audacity of Ridge to ask her to kick out her daughter and granddaughter... Brooke went against her daughter by telling the Forresters the plan... as expected, she got zero credit for that. They absolutely ruined it at the end though, by making Ridge walk out on her. I hope Deacon karate chops Ridge's ass.
  6. They are like brothers! He even had sex with his father's wife. 🤣 What more do you ask?! In the Forrester family, having sex with your parent or child's spouse is a cultural and emotional milestone, so this means Carter is practically Eric's son.
  7. Don't get me started... Hope is as much a Forrester as Steffy is. She was raised by one. How does Brooke sit there and listen to Taylor and never mentions how recently Taylor slept with Ridge, and Steffy with Liam?!
  8. This, I hate seeing Hope try to grovel and rationalize with Steffy - "oh, I wasn't trying to seduce your husband! I'm sooooo sorry." whereas Steffy would be like "you're damn right I f*cked your husband, because you can't satisfy him!" And Brooke telling Ridge about Hope and Carter's plans, thinking the harpies would give her credit... just no.
  9. Thanks @Jennybold1974 that was very informative. If that is how it is on the business then imagine how bad it is on the creative side. These shows have been on auto-pilot since COVID. Probably let go of all the people that did promo and then just never hired them back and figured they could do without it. Apparently Days of Our Lives got rid of their entire promotional department and it sure sounds like B&B did too. As drab as the soap magazines could be by the end, at least they were professional enough to try to confirm casting information and such, as you said.
  10. They almost touched on this when Harrison was kidnapped. Even Victoria wasn't sure. Instead of pulling on that thread, they had Claire buried under a random dead body that was never seen or explained. Sigh.
  11. Times a million. This girl went to college and managed to get a big ass tattoo. She had corporate experience. She lived plenty of life away from Aunt Jordan. She isn't some rube. She may have been groomed, but she was an adult and she chose to participate when she had other options. You can't just handwave that. There has to be a redemption arc like Michael Baldwin had. How is Nikki all "teehee, you should be my assistant again!" when the last time, she drugged her and hooked her up to an IV of freaking alcohol which gave Nikki PTSD for months? So stupid.
  12. Aahhh yes!! Sister Act!!! Thanks. That's funny, because a few episodes before, Gina sings "My Guy" to Clint and that always reminds me of Sister Act, so I should have made the connection. 🤣
  13. I've been meaning to ask... anyone know this actress who appeared on the May 29-30, 1990 episodes? Rex grabs her out of the hallway because he and Jill need a witness for their wedding. She looks so familiar. https://ibb.co/VJ4CGJk https://ibb.co/hLttx8m
  14. But, like, at least it's still B&B! I don't know. We like to think we'd get a good writer, even a decent one, but we could get Josh Griffith!
  15. I don't know... as bad as he is, I appreciate that it's not a revolving door of writers that have been fired/tanked other shows.
  16. NY Times article on Northrop and other soap actors passing away. Rest in peace. https://archive.ph/hlYls
  17. Not sure if you saw my other reply, since it was merged with the first, but the Lorie/Lance scenes may be from their divorce circa Feb 1980, if that helps.
  18. So cute! It kills me that someone recorded the promos, but never the episodes. I think Nikki is wearing the outfit from when she met with Rose in December 1979 to set up the rendezvous with Walter Addison. Isn't the blonde in the second gif Leslie with her hair blonde as "Priscilla." In February 1980, Lorie was forced by Vanessa to divorce Lance, supposedly for his own good. Vanessa was going to reinstate him at Prentiss only if she divorced him. He had been very depressed losing his place to Lucas. I really hate those stories where people who love each other get a divorce due to external causes (also done with Leslie/Brad and Lauren/Paul).
  19. I do love that "fool" speech. Encapsulates my feelings about Jack lol.
  20. Apropos of nothing, I wonder if CBS even has the rights to broadcast P&G soaps anymore. Maybe a separate thread should be started to speculate on the break before BTG.
  21. Still want her back on Y&R even though she's moved on to bigger things!
