2025: The Directors and Writers Thread
According to Wikipedia (though it may not be updated) Griffith has only won Emmys before 1995. Damn!

This bothers me too, so that's awesome news!

Possibly the only writer who could make it worse.

Y&R: July 2025 Discussion Thread
Legit, when did Cole die, July 3? Almost three weeks later Nikki and Victor are discussing how last they heard, he was doing fine lol.

Y&R: July 2025 Discussion Thread
I feel like Y&R is defaming that house by using that image to represent whatever that set is. Thank you for your research @janea4old on point as always.

ARTICLE: Ron Carlivati OUT At ‘Beyond The Gates,’ Plus More Writing Changes At Daytime Drama Series
I feel like Josh is already a low rent version of Ron. Stuff like Aunt Jordan, Martin/Alan, and whatever this is with Cane are in Ron's wheelhouse but on a low budget. Ron might have more in jokes and references though.

Reason for Downtime
This, OMG what a loss that would have been! I was definitely getting the vibe this was serious since it lasted so long.

Y&R: July 2025 Discussion Thread
I should have posted here not in spoilers: Thinking about it more, it is so vintage JG. Retcon storyline drawing on "history" by creating a totally new character from a classic one, but also not having her interact with anyone she knew in the past (just the offscreen lunch with Traci!). Create what seems like an intriguing drama (a man who is estranged and won't even speak to his own mother when he learns she's dying!) but then have it turn out to be nothing (he was upset she was working all the time while his father was dying and she explained she was doing it because they needed insurance, all is forgiven easily). Include a convoluted, pointless subplot where he randomly gets another guy to pose as him, with some random "business" stuff thrown in. Something about random job offers from random companies with no offices. The main actor turns out to be good and has potential storylines with his new brother and chemistry with Lily, setting up a love triangle with the new pet character/flavor of the month. Decide to kill him off instead, leaving us with the elderly retcon mother character who was only brought on to introduce the son.

Who says they have to go jail?Just have Michael run in all sweaty from getting lost in the maze and say the French judge dropped all the charges offscreen, per usual. Christian Le Blanc can even say it in French!

GH: HUGE CASTING NEWS!
Not having watched OLTL I would prefer it to be a new character. Doesn't have to be a relative. Could be a society frenemy of Tracy and then if Slezak wants to stay, they can build around her.

Y&R: July 2025 Spoilers
Wow, that's dumb, he was a very good actor and a find. What was the point of all that history revision just to kill him off? Geez. I guess that explains why he was in a bad mood on social media lately.

ALL: General Retro Soap Discussion
That's interesting! It's actually a Brock and Jill scene that gets used in the end, from when they got married, I think.

Daytime Emmy Nominees
It's weird like that. I mostly think it's all crap and political, but I can't help be happy for someone I feel deserves it, even though that lends some credibility to the system.

ARTICLE: DAYTIME EMMYS: Early Nominations Sees 'DAYS,' 'GH' and 'Y&R' Take Top Spots
I can see MCE putting together a good reel from the OCD story and her breakup with Billy. Terrible storyline but her acting was good. I prefer more subtle acting.
