Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
It's funny you say that because part of the entertainment of the trials on the show are all the day players who come on as witnesses and jurors. I'm certain it was like the Law and Order of its time. It employed so many New York actors, that if you look close enough, there's usually someone vaguely recognizable in the courtroom.

I will defend Dante. People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner). And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time. So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.

I would appreciate (if they're not coming), for future scripts to refer to them by their iconic hairdos. For example, if Hope needs to call Chelsea because Bo has Sepsis, I'd like Shawn-D to say, "My Mom called Chelsea (the one with the sassy short black hair) for an update." Also, new rule, if Melanie does return, she needs to dye her hair back to red. I googled who she was five times during Victor's funeral. 😉

You are the best!!!! That is a remarkable talent, to not just summarize, but contextualize Draper's dilemma! It is delightful to be able to think of that situation in a new way. - Thank you I was pondering Lee Godart's accent, because it was so dreamy. It made me think he would've been perfectly cast as Victor Newman's brother on Y&R. American's have a hard time distinguishing European accents. And, good news, before I hit reply, I went and confirmed the actor is still alive.

The kid's a violinist, he's not James Dean looking for trouble on the beachside streets of Port Charles.

Don't forget, ”I want to struggle, but I also want to live in this huge, fabulous loft, in a town with one art gallery, and allow my wife and child's fortune to be controlled by her wicked stepsister!” wa wa wa Besides, what was Sam going to do to protect her? Throw crayons at the guy? The actual daughter of Rachel and Mac would've told him to go throw on his cutoff shorts, paint a masterpiece, and leave the business stuff to people who own at least two pairs of trousers. 😉🩳 Seriously, though, at what point does Iris learn that Evan is Janice's son?

On the other hand, I still find episodes of TV with people smoking in front of babies shocks me into nervous giggles.

It is his fatal flaw. He's smart, cute, and loyal. But, a total chauvinist pig. We're looking through a 2025 lens, but April's from a wealthy family, (that she recently met), she should be allowed to contribute to her own home. Especially if Draper is going to work for the Crime Commission, rather than joining Mike's private law firm (did I get that part correct?) How about smoking while the baby is in the room? It all looks nuts by current standards. Raven was married to Geraldine's son Kevin, but had an affair with Logan (whom Geraldine also considered like a son). Raven got pregnant by Logan, then Kevin died (long story short). The part you need to know is that Raven was bored being a mother to Jamey (check out my member name). So, she starts going out to Elliott's club and leaving Jamey with April. Logan is not happy that Raven keeps leaving their baby all around town. And thus, Geraldine is not pleased with Raven either. Draper and Logan are frequently rivals in the courtroom. FYI --- Draper is also Raven's step-brother (her mother married his father). Raven's real name is Charlotte. But, one day [she] was sitting on the lawn and saw this beautiful black bird with shiny wings fly by. [She] wanted to be that bird. So beautiful. So free. With beautiful black wings…" @chrisml you'll hear that story soon, and I envy you getting to see it the first time.

This is my other blind spot -- the children of Bo Brady's past loves. Melanie:Carly as Chelsea:Billie -- but it is tough to keep them straight I dipped out during the Daniel of our Lives period of the show.

I thought it was impolite to stare directly at the car crash. Consider it like polite cocktail chatter while our hosts bicker in the kitchen 😉

Also, can't we assume Jagger's sister is still alive? @carolineg

I wonder what happened to Jagger's son? BTW, did Jagger ever go back to the Bay Area to see his son the entire time he lived in Port Charles? And all I want for Lois is to modernize her look a bit. It's cool that she is graying, but now they need to remember she was a rock executive, and have her look a little more contemporary. More Jenna Lyons, less Six from Blossom.

Also, I recall the old analogy Max:Brady as Benjy:Johnson (and I guess Pocket:Kiriakis - but, you know I don't like it when they undermine adoptions by calling the biological carriers the “real parents” on soaps — Tyler has lived with his family for a long time now, he is one of them)

Oh yeah, wasn't Max's father the mayor who had been married to Nicole? I thought Frankie and Max were brothers, but maybe they were adoptive brothers through the Brady's? Which means Max wasn't a von Leuschner. If so, Max and Benjy are just going to remain one character in my memory bank. Along with Pocket. 🤪

GH: Classic Thread
With the disclaimer that I fully understand the culture of the times versus today, I still think it stinks. Jeff unalived himself. Monica, regardless of motive, knew that Jeff wouldn't want to live an incapacitated life, if he survived the surgery. She was also a doctor, and fully aware of the risk. Then, Steve performs surgery on a family member (which is already verboten), without their consent. IRL, he'd totally be fired because third payment wouldn't accept billing for nonconsensual brain surgery. And the story, which was designed to entertain women, is basically that men are heroes, and women should not be allowed to decide what happens to their bodies, or the bodies of those they love. (note: a bit of hyperbole for humorous effect)

If the shooter is Arnold, I am not going to be happy. Agreed. Again, I really like the pace of the mystery. RonC always wrote a shocking crime, then it would be solved only through exposition at the end. I feel like the audience is being shown some respect by them carefully closing all the loopholes. For example, having Shawn-D call Rafe to turn in his gun was a clever device to get Gabi to confess. As much as I agree with @carolineg about the odd shift in Sophia's character, this plot is starting to make me angry. A woman is denied an abortion and forced to raise a child? It is gross. The stomach pains are a hopeful foreshadowing. But, if she fakes pregnancy, or hides his miscarriage, I am going to scream!!! Roman continues to be a mench, but I have to admit that I can never keep track of the difference between Max and Benjy. I guess it helps that Benjy is dead. Is Max still related to Carly?

I haven't watched yet, but did they explain the current ownership of The Bistro? Because when RonC was writing, wasn't he applying for work with Sophia?

A private elevator penthouse with a spiral staircase to the primary suite. Sign me up! The only deficit was that various riff-raffs seemed to have easy access to the elevator.

Ah! Good to hear. Isn't it especially odd to think that house fictionally exists not far from the Karrs? Or, that it was designed non-fictionally by the same person who designed April's place?

Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles. Obviously, that might occur IRL. But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.

Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward. Clyde's exit was 12/11/24. It is May. She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.

Here's the timeline, as I recall it being published. The WGA strike was 5/2–9/27/2023 Annalynne McCord was announced as being hired in December 2023, for a one-year contract https://deadline.com/2024/06/days-of-our-lives-when-to-expect-annalynne-mccord-peacock-1235975806/ RonC's first scripts back from the strike began airing May 31, 2024 (around Konstantine & Maggie's wedding) https://www.tvinsider.com/1137709/days-of-our-lives-writers-return-15000th-episode-storylines/ Her first air date was June 19th 2024. The actress has said she was not told who she would be playing until she started taping. RonC 's replacements were announced July 2024, with his scripts airing through April 2025 Side note: DAYS social media team seems to be playing fast and loose with BTS videos, in terms of how far in advance they film content (e.g. their April Fools' Joke videos were clearly not filmed on 4/1/25), so we shouldn't assume anyone's current status, versus those who were there nine months ago.

ARTICLE: Billy Bush To Exit ‘Extra’ After Five Seasons, Will “Continue Building Out” ‘Hot Mics’ Podcast
Setting aside the Billy-Bush of it all. Did you ever think we'd see the day when it is believable that a host of a nightly syndicated show, after five years, could make more money from podcasting than TV? (reading between the lines). I mean, that may not be the real reason he is leaving, but it is possible.

This interview actually reminds me a bit of Kim Zimmer’s press during the infamous clone storyline on Guiding Light, or Deidre Hall during the possession story on Days. All three were seasoned daytime veterans who made it clear they valued airtime for their characters, not just being part of a romantic pairing. It seems that idea was part of the pitch behind these bigger-than-life plots. They all took big swings in their performances. When I read Kim Zimmer’s memoir, I thought she captured it best — she wanted to be respected for being willing to take those risks. To paraphrase her, she knew it was ridiculous for Reva to think she was pregnant after menopause, but she still threw herself into those scenes and made them real. That’s what really struck me about Victoria Wyndham’s interview too. She responded like a real person. It felt like she was telling Michael Logan that she knew Justine — and a geriatric pregnancy with twins — was totally preposterous, but that she still deserved credit for trying to keep the show alive and entertain the audience. And honestly, I think that's more than fair. Logan is looking for a reductive answer for who is to blame. And, she's telling him to accept that they were all well-meaning. Which is not a defense of bad storytelling. But, I understand that she's frustrated because she interpreted Logan's critique as a lack of commitment, and she wants him to know that she was committed! (maybe not for the best, but committed).
