  1. Do you think today ends the speculation that Abigail will return? It would seem redundant in terms of an interloper for the Stephanie and Chad relationship. The missing parallel in today's episode was how Caroline and Shawn felt about Steve marrying Kayla. I actually don't recall them having any objections to the union, but they would've been justified at the time, given Steve's sketchy background and Kayla's professional aspirations.
  2. What ever happened to nu-Joey? Is it like a horse, they got rid of the character once he hurt his leg in Seattle?
  3. And given @carolineg's commentary on Aketra's eyebrow acting, it was also funny that she went to aesthetician school after finishing at DAYS. I'm guessing that threading and waxing will be her specialty. Why did the eyebrow stylist go to jail? Because she was charged with tweezin’.
  4. I would call Alex's suit royal blue, which definitely has a purple hue to it 😉 Also, did anyone else read the exit interview for Aketra Sevillian (aka Talia)? Aketra Sevillian (ex-Talia) had heard rumblings about budget and cast cuts before she became one of the casualties at DAYS. [ ]Then Sevillian got summoned to former co-executive producer Xxxx Xxxxs office. [ ] “It was very respectful, when he sat me down,” she continues, noting that Xxxxx explained that it had nothing to with her work, but that she was simply a casualty of cost-cutting measures. I was amused that they blamed the budget for her firing, then turned around and hired three new actors (Holly, Tate, and Konstantin) as well as the aforementioned 1,000 wigs for Theresa. Spare me the responses, educating me on the budgetary structure of soap operas, I'm just saying it was funny to think of her walking out of the studio after being dismissed and seeing three new faces walking in. She must have had some questions... https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/aketra-sevillian-on-her-days-exit/
  5. I think they refreshed the Theresa wig because it looks less shiny, and the roots are less noticeable. Is it foreshadowing or just bad taste that Alex and Xander both decided to wear purple suits today? Also, it's my age-old question, what time of day is it in Salem? They're having lunch, but the kids are back from school, and suddenly Kayla is back at work. And where did this turtle plotline come from?
  6. Do you think Willow is supposed to be experiencing the actual ghost of Harmony, or is it meant to be a visual representation of Willow's sub-conscience? Because why would Harmony care about this stuff with Michael while she's in the here-after?
  7. Here's the thing, Kirsten knew that Dimitri was going to shoot Stefon and Gabi, so they could've just used that information to blackmail her. This whole idea of falsifying abuse charges is unnecessarily polarizing. I mean, Rachel has rejected Brady, so it is even more cruel to manipulate the situation to force them together.
  8. Pro Tip if you have the Kindle app (which is free to download) the book is much cheaper. I downloaded it for a trip on Friday, and I'm trying to stay away from reviews and spoilers until then
  9. Hard disagree @chrisml When I saw the promo for Cecile's return, I tuned in after years of watching OLTL When I saw the clever promos for Santa Barbara featuring actors from other soaps, I returned to watching that soap during an otherwise fallow period. When I saw Eastenders famous "White Wedding" promo for Peggy and Frank's wedding, it made me watch that soap for the first time. Promos obviously work, or they wouldn't be produced, and to suggest that people are not vulnerable to being influenced is to deny one of the key reasons for the growth of social media.
  10. Agreed that there is clearly a difference between writing a joke that isn't very funny, and presenting an offensive image of a child with black eye makeup use to entrap her mother into abuse charges. Also, I think there's a difference between putting two consenting adults in a sheet costume, and exploiting a child actress by involving her in such a distasteful scenario. This is a soap that has done serious stories about domestic abuse, and now they are making a mockery of the issue.
  11. Writing an episode where Gabi and Stefan falsely accuse Kristen of child abuse by using makeup on little Rachel, is in very poor taste. I get that DAYS turns especially silly around Halloween, but this is beyond the bounds of entertainment, and was really gross to watch.
  12. I wasn't aware of that, but it is one of the most impressive points that I've read on this board! I recall an interview with a SB blog, recapped on We Love Soaps, with Bridget that mentioned her contentious relationship with her parents. Search led to General Hospital and to one of their two daughters (me) wanting a job working from her parents. I did not just want a job. I was obsessed. I was adamant. I was furious. I was outrageous. I pleaded. I begged. I threatened. I had trained for this. They stonewalled me. No. No job. We'll hire your sister. Which they did. Why not me? “Because you're a party girl.” Come on. “Because you'll never meet the deadlines.” What nonsense. “Because Debby needs the money.” "My parents never accepted that I was a success on my own. (My mother apparently was furious to learn that our bosses at P&G were talking to Jerry and me about shows, not to them. This is according to my sister, who was visiting them at the time of an hysterical outburst.) They never watched any of my shows. When they were asked why not, they said, 'Because we want to be proud of Bridget. That's why we don't watch.' So, it is intriguing to think of CC as the embodiment of their conflict. And the sibling rivalry regarding who was the favorite child that threads throughout the history of SB as a reflection of Bridget and her sister. And to your point about working things out, she finishes the story about her parents by mentioned that she went through psychoanalysis and was left with the opinion that if her parents weren't proud of her work that was their loss, not hers. Totally agreed, and it makes me wonder how CC ever forgave Sophia.
  13. When Clyde was out on parole and dating Nancy, he had to fence Abigail's bracelet in order to make money. How does he suddenly have enough power to run a drug ring from prison? Also, wasn't there a thing about the guy from Million Dollar Listing LA, who played the failed business contact of Alex, doing drugs in the bathroom of The Bistro? Is that how long things have been shady there?
  14. I've forgotten, is EJ even aware of the possibility that Eric's the father of Nicole's baby? I thought Nicole lied to get him to do the DNA test based on health issues. So, it seems odd today when he was excited to see the results because they confirmed that he's daddy (meanwhile, not too excited that he couldn't do 8 million other things before he opened the envelope). Speaking of plot holes, are we to assume that Nicole got the results on Friday, left the hospital, drove home, put them on the table, and never looked at them to see that Eric's the father? Or, are we supposed to believe that she's just too dumb to know what the results mean? Which I guess is possible if she didn't memorize EJ or Eric's genotype. And, if it's so late that Marlena was surprised that Sloan had to go see a client, why was she visiting Eric at that late hour? And is that hit lady still in the hospital? Because everyone seems to have forgotten about her.
  15. Talk about heavy-handed. How many times did Xander have to say, "if I were Victor's son" in one episode? I know why I tend to overthink DAYS mysteries, because I can't believe they make it this obvious. Also, there are like 80 people living at the Dimera house, didn't one of them see Sloan skulking about? And it was so soapy that EJ could not find the time to open an envelope over the course of 42 minutes.
  16. There's something funny about tuning into GH and seeing how much Wally Kurth's appearance changed in six months. Hot take, EOB could've kept the British accent and justified it by saying she was spending more time with her father Shane in the UK while Tate was in school (like Madonna). As it stands, I feel bad for Kimberly, isn't she supposed to be ill and that's why Theresa lives with her? Now that the supply chain is effecting her company, I hope Kim isn't back out on the streets. I like EOB's charisma, and I have no connection to Jen Lilly's take as being groundbreaking, so I don't mind, it seems very temporary. And it'll allow for a refresh on Gwen. Also, I'm still stuck on the idea that Theresa met Alex once, and now they're entwined, he's a baddie, and they're living together. If everything stays at this pace, I expect Tate and Holly to get married, have a baby, start a company and buy the Horton House by Thanksgiving.
  17. Dude, could've at least told us the line... And the cast wasn't worth mentioning - harsh
  18. Could be tied to either JT or Reed?
  19. In a recent Instagram post Remington commented how happy he was to be "back on the other side of the camera", so I think you are correct.
  20. That's an interesting thought that I hadn't considered. My only counterargument would be the lack of groundwork laid for Mason's change of heart. Certainly, by watching the hospital scene in 1988, Mason has lost sympathy for his mother's illness because she allowed him to take the blame for Mark's death, as well as being responsible for numerous other incidents with his family. If somewhere on the road to sobriety, Mason learned to have more empathy for Pamela than I would buy your take on the dinner party. However, my contention is not with Mason welcoming Pamela back, but whether his anger is properly justified at that moment in 1991. Because, why are we suddenly re-adjudicating Sophia for Channing's murder? It feels like the connection between the two women's history was a missed opportunity from when Pamela first returned for Elena's trial. So, they shoe-horned it into the story in 1991. It was an artful shoe-horn, but not earned in terms of establishing the motivation. One other point need I need clarification on, because I rely on your excellent memory. I had forgotten that Pamela knew that Cassandra was Minx's daughter before everyone else found out. In the synopsis on the French site there's a mention that Pamela spoke to Cassandra's father. But, that seems wrong, since I don't recall that we ever knew Cassandra's father. And I doubt Minx would have told Pamela at the time of Cassandra's birth. Do you think Cassandra was meant to be Scott's cousin (or sister)? Which would be odd since the character bio said that Scott left in 1989 Episode 1658 (the reappearance of Pamela) Pamela confides in Mason that she knows a secret concerning Cassandra. She tells him that she is the illegitimate daughter of Minx Lockridge... Episode 1659 Mason is shocked by Pamela's revelation. She explains to him that she learnt this from Cassandra's father, who she was frequently seeing during this time.
  21. I'm open to surprise, as long as it nothing to do with Sheila or any of the Carter clan
  22. Also, I think interweaving the custody and inheritance story is clever. Given that the trailer shows Xander is about to be revealed as the heir. It is smart to set up some animosity between Maggie and Xander. He was always one of her favorites, so it will be interesting to see if Maggie remains on the outside at Titan if she and Xander continue to clash over the custody situation with Sarah. The fire is a canard, as I'm sure that they won't destroy the Horton house, they probably just want to modernize and shrink the set (although goodness knows how it could get any smaller). I'm certain not to like the baby switch, and this is the most common, (and a little cruel), plot line in soaps. But, thankfully, there are other bright spots to which I look forward.
  23. Agreed that it was CC who got Pamela released, with the stipulation that she had no contact with Mason (I don't recall if Kelly is even mentioned in this plan, as it is even weirder that nobody seems to care that Pammie tried to kill her - leave it to Eden to once again make it all about herself - haha). But, I assume you understand my point that Mason's attitude toward his mother, and using her as a cudgel against CC lacks story based motivation in 1991. Don't get me wrong, I think the dinner party episode(s) in general is excellent. Sophia really shines. I love the part about how she struggled to be a stepmother to Mason, and her performance alone allows me to overlook these issues. But upon reflection, the Mason stuff feels unearned, given that it's played by re-cast at that moment in the story.
  24. Honestly, I see Greg Rikaart at the supermarket in Los Feliz at least once a month, so I can wait.
  25. You're correct, it was so quick that I forgot. But, I think you understand my point that once Megan went vamoosh, Kristen seemed to have lost interest in running Dimera, she was more interested in the potential for Dimitri's money than her father's company.
