  1. Something definitely happened backstage, her departure seems sudden, like that of Sean O'Connor's last year at EastEnders. I don't understand why ITV as always sees Emmerdale as the training ground for the next EP of Corrie.
  2. Yes, Roseanne Is Now the No. 1 Show on TV
  3. Yeah, they had to pack a lot in since they only had Johnny back for one episode.
  4. Probably not - they're only referencing Kat's time in Spain and not Ireland. Speaking of the Slater's, it's kind of hilarious that they have no idea what to do with Whitney and Tiffany, and have made them Slater's by extension. I still don't know why Whitney is still on this show, and there is no reason for Tiffany to be back at all...
  5. Strangely, Mel doesn't annoy me as much as she sometimes did in her first stint. Maybe because they're writing her as more of a hard character this time around, which plays more to Tamzin and the character's strengths. I will also say, Yorke seems to have given Kat back her sense of humour - that was a vital part of the character and was missing in the last stint (especially all the misery DTC reaped on the character). The Slater set-up is a bit ridiculous, and I wonder why Yorke even bothered with bringing Jean and Big Mo back. He hasn't given Kat anything substantial to do yet either, but I sense he's taking his time to re-establish her somehow and hopefully move her forward from her last stint - she is his definitive character after all.
  6. Felicia Minei Behr hired quite a few actors on AMC that she worked with on Ryan's Hope, didn't she?
  7. It may be an unpopular opinion, but I find Wisner Washam's AMC vastly superior to Nixon's (yes, I know he's her protege) and everyone else that came after him...
  8. Brief scene, but Charlie's first appearance as Janine. I didn't realize it was this early in '99 (I thought it was at the end of that year for some reason).
  9. I though the point of of that joke was to say we're all more alike that different, and obviously a wink to the rest of the ABC lineup. People definitely get offended easily these days, and Roseanne makes herself an easy target. I think it's stuff like that which really pisses her off too, she's talked at length about how comedy has to be overly sanitized now because everyone is politically correct and gets offended easily. Mind you, not that she goes about it in the most graceful ways at times, but she does have a point.
  10. God, the writing for Sharon is absolutely awful these days. I can't believe Yorke isn't doing anything to improve it as Sharon was one of his favourites, and he obviously brought her back to the show in her first return. The Slater lynch mob is a bit much for such a ridiculous story, but did love Kat throwing Den faking his death back in Sharon's face and later Kat calling her Phil's doormat - that's exactly what Sharon is these days (in addition to being a big hypocrite).
  11. Yeah, it was season 7 episode 'Sisters'. Roseanne: [Becky and Darlene are sniping at one another] Okay, so that's enough. Now, we have a wonderful, loving family, and you two little bitches are not going to ruin it. You're gonna be loving, caring sisters, just like me and Jackie. Darlene: Fine. Darlene: [to Becky] I'll sleep with every guy in town and you can gain 400 pounds.
  12. Roseanne did call both Becky and Darlene bitches in the original show, so it was consistent, lol.
  13. 20 years later, 'Roseanne' is still trying to push the LGBTQ community forward. And yet. Ratings held up surprising well for week #2: TV Ratings: 'Roseanne' Still Strong, Pulls 15.2 Million in Week 2
  14. The more glammed-up wardrobe they gave Delia in the mid/late 80's seemed so wrong for Ilene...
  15. 'Roseanne' star Ames McNamara on his gender non-conforming character: 'I believe that everyone should express themselves'
  16. ‘Roseanne’ Revival Premiere Sets Delayed Viewing Record
  17. Did anyone see this interview Christopher Goutman did with Nelson Aspen in 2013? He basically takes no responsibility for ATWT's demise (said it had been happening since B&B took ATWT's timeslot), and said ATWT did not have the same passionate audience as other soaps to keep it alive in another incarnation...
  18. This week has been weird though - it feels like I'm in a time warp back to 1990 where Roseanne is the #1 show in America, and the media won't shut up about her and the show.
  19. ABC is touting a 23 million figure - I guess final figures are still trickling in for DVR playback:
  20. I definitely miss her and she certainly left us way too soon. In my head, I always cast her and Carrie Genzel (who played Skye briefly on AMC) as a mother/daughter pair on some imaginary soap. For some reason, Carrie always reminded me of Nancy.
