Nope. It's just a prop now really. re: Val/Carly. I can and will still hate on that. All Carly needed from Val was info. That was it. Carly has decades of history of getting payback without needing a partner in crime. Keeping her alone could also have been a way to connect her more as she schemed her way through the canvas. But yeah, unlike Sonny, Carly still does have places to fit her in (not to be confused with someone named Korte sticking her somewhere hoping she will fit). I like Sonny in supporting as well. I have noticed that outside of the scenes with the person you don't like being mentioned and Gio, he really has no point at the moment. However, the increase in Sidwell consolidating his power (sidenote: I'm surprised they haven't looped back around to his involvement in Deception yet given Ava vs Lucy is coming) guarantees that Sonny will get relevancy again soon. It reminds me of how many times on Y&R Victor fades into the background and then comes roaring back. Same. He could visit our favorite brunette, and I would be fine with that as you know. :) But it is sad that Sonny could go to jail vanish tomorrow, and the canvas would not be affected at all. How the mighty have fallen.

Heated Rivalry
Not that they ain't nice, but oh so true. Yep. Pretty much. Yep. The story of my life. I could write a book. Oh, wait! ;) Exactly this! I am just done working on something explaining why people are discovering a long cancelled show and liking it when that was not the case when it was airing. Because the themes are universal. If anything, it is shocking me how people are having a negative reaction due to how puritanic the country has gone in the past short 4 years. Remember when the 90s was full of risqué sex scenes, saxophone music, and sizzle? Give me adult content with heart over soup-fed juvenile antics any day. Ryan's Hope was before my time, but I hear so much good stuff about it. And I feel like...as OLTL was my vibe...it would be one of those soaps that I would like if I ever sat down to watch it. And I've always been curious to see how cunning Ilene's Dalia truly was since I felt like her rep preceded her from what little I know of it. Awww that's how a lot of AMC fans heard felt about Lorraine Broderick coming back for AMC's final months as well. I was one of them since I follow writers to other soap shows more than I do actors/actresses. Lord, ain't that the truth. One is hard-pressed to find a writer to like on the current soaps. OOooo ready!!!! That's good to hear. I do wonder how they will incorporate Scott and Kip in going forward though.

2026: The Directors and Writers Thread
Same! I just saw that name and immediately thought 'she left Y&R???' Damn. But yep. Y&R's loss is against another show's gain. And I was coming here to see if anyone had the tea. I didn't know at all that Kay Alden had been grooming her. Which makes it even more sad for how current Y&R is now. But good because Natalie knows how to pace.

Ewwww don't even put that out there for Carly!!! But...wow. Two years. You are not wrong. I guess that really was Sonny's last big story, isn't it? Jason has been the one of the three that has truly had a renaissance and I have loved just about every minute of it outside of Britt...and I say that as a fan. Carly and Brennan could have been something IMHO...and yes, I know I am in the minority. But the pairing really died when the ALIAS storyline started. And even that...Carly can still be used in so many places more than Sonny. Which is why I don't mind your six month off suggestion with a certain brunette. ;)

While I've been enjoying them exploring the various angles of the Anita's Cancer story, I have to agree. Which is why I was glad for yesterday's episode using Joey vs SilkPress as a counterpoint. They have to be so careful with such a heavy story to have other stories going on. Perferably lighter. The last thing we need is B&B-Lite where the focus is just on the one story (note...BTG is so much better at their one story). HEY, FRIEND! ;)

Good to hear. I miss talking to you in the Y&R Thread. Thank you! I want Bill/Dani/Andre for all that it's worth. There have been some hints of slanted writing...cuz when has Andre being THIS insecure...so great to see that balanced back out. I want an even playing field. Sorry, MVJ. IKR! Since Season 2 has begun, it has been a well-oiled machine and things are moving again. Fashion is still on point. And there have been moments when production just shines through. I'm still thinking about that camera angle that slid into the Bill office scene where Hayley was sitting in her red dress, giving straight villainess. LOVE. HA

Which means they are writing it right. ;) But seriously...in hindsight, it does make sense that Dani and Bill were drawn to each other. After all when Bill had his stroke, Dani moved with the quickness...AND was the only one he listened to. It really does track. I just don't like how Bill talks to her when he knows she's married. She didn't do that to him when he was in the hospital. The wackiness of RC! lol. But I agree. Effective. Nice to see him jelling with Lynn Martin cuz I usually find their episodes meh.

Well, it doesn't help when the writers themselves are too bias to see what is in front of them. Carly is definitely at her best with a rival. Especially current Carly. And out of everyone...she has her picks from Ava to her most recent one which was with Nina and which still has legs even now if they would write to it.

1-13 Now that I'm done using the app (bad form, CBS, not loading up the episode on my system when I see 1-14 RIGHT THERE)...that was another good episode, too. You know that I have to start with my favorite character. That's right...NICOLE. I loved her having the meltdown. And as I thought...they are going to take their time with this triangle (sorry, folks!). And for the triangle to even work, they have to build up the sides. Which for now is Carlton and Nicole (sorry, folks!). Which I thought it was a good showing. When he was talking about his history with her months ago, he sounded like Nicole was the one who got away. Naturally, he wouldn't take advantage of Drunk Nicole. Good. If they are going to do a triangle, I don't want Carlton going psycho yet. And if he does, I want it to be organic. A good showing. Another good showing was Anita showing up during sexy time between Dani and Andre. I continue to see the undercurrent of tension between her and Vernon which is good to keep the main story alive. However, as much as I loved the Anita/Dani scene...I just have to get this off my chest. When the show started, there were hints of the relationship between Anita and Dani being more prickly. And there have been heres and theres. And now it just seems gone. And I'm sad for that because I found it intriguing. Now that I FINALLY got to see Grayson. I liked him. And woooow it honestly looked like the Ashley I liked from the first episode was back. There was some chemistry, there was NO (or very little) of a neurotic Carrie Bradshaw coming off Ashley, and I look forward to more. Ooooo so now we see how Naomi is going to be moving forward. Just like her grandmother and her father, rather than deal head on, Naomi is just going to try to avoid as best as possible and wall the feelings in. That organic trait could totally grow into a good story for her and Jacob in time. And I loved Jacob's father was there for him for once. I did like the Vernon/Andre scene. But I do wonder if something is coming with all of this talk about the Dupree women.
