I know I'm looking forward to seeing them. And seeing if Luke is a bad boy cop. Or...might give Andre a run for his money.

7-8 Weeelll...not at all boring! lol. Unlike that other Bell show... That said...wOoooow. If you had told me that Steffy would be helping SHEILA of all people, I would have laughed about it. But I do now wonder how they (and Finn) will be after all this drama with Luna. And I feel this week is off to a good start even if the confrontation between Steffy, Luna, and Sheila took days of episodes. I mean, the tension never really let up as the other characters started to realize that something was wrong. I did want to shake Steffy sometimes cuz...why are we antagonizing the one with the gun? And part of me was giggling at the fact that this whole thing was echoing Sheila vs Steffy in the alley a little bit...and NOW Sheila is on the other foot. And of course, it wrote Luna into a corner again after Brad Bell worked so hard to get her out of that corner in the first place. But...it was good. I did not at all see Sheila getting shot. And I really didn't see LIAM getting shot. And I did not even see Liam shooting Luna, either! With intent! Cuz if he turns out to NOT die, is that going to be a storyline??? I could see it as self-defense, but I could see why it isn't, either. Good to see Hope/Carter. I rolled my eyes at Ridge/Taylee. And I enjoyed seeing Katie react to hearing what Will did. Sidenote...Li and all of that long raven hair. Finger crossed I am getting a hair toss. Again...good week with a lot going on.

And given it has always been established the families are close enough, it gives perfect tension to wait until after the climax and fallout.

Yeah, that could be interesting as well. We know next to nothing about Bill outside of his mother's death and he came from humble beginnings. And yep. hehe.

BTG: July 2025 Discussion Thread
7-7 I just might take it back. And by just might, I mean this episode. I didn't really like it on first viewing outside of the cliffhanger. But rewatching it, I think I figured out why. With the show so focused on building the momentum to Martin's Secret as A Story...anything less than that and that isn't the typical Thursday filler episode...is going to be jarring. Because it wasn't that there was not stuff going on. There were stuff going on. And as I've been commenting and watching today, it came to me. And it's delicious for me. If Martin had been doing what's he's been doing from the start and told Smitty to not go back to work, Smitty wouldn't have gone back to work. If Smitty hadn't gone back to work, Smitty would not be on this assignment about Marcel. If Smitty hadn't went ahead with the assignment, he wouldn't know that Marcel was a crooked cop. That Jacob's father knows. That the pieces of the Crooked Cop storyline now fit within a bigger storyline. And that bigger storyline is leading right to Martin. And now another puzzle piece in Smitty finding a connection between Marcel and Vernon. Consequences. This episode with Martin AND Smitty having their own secrets and a near-miss and a declaration of love that reads like a calm in the storm...it has collision course written all over it. And again as I mentioned, we would not be getting this emotional stake being raised and this beat hit if they had gone ahead and started with this story fully, making Month 2 being used to flesh out Martin, Smitty, and the family life that more satisfying in hindsight. So I liked we are playing this calm before the storm beat. From the moment that they didn't show what Randy did...I figured that Kenny might still be alive. The question for me was...why, Randy? Rewatching it now...the dialogue does seem to imply that this might have been Joey's first time asking Randy to kill someone. And that for me, is the only reason I could think of that he let him go. Moreso if he took some of Joey's money on top of that when he knows Joey is dangerous. I really appreciated that the throughline of Doug and Randy being friends since they were kids being played again, making the Doug/Vanessa/Joey storyline that much messier. I also loved the beat finally being played that Dani saw Doug and she told Vanessa. And we know I live for Dani/Vanessa scenes. Sidenote...it has been established that Dani and Martin are pretty close or have similar temperament, so I like the subplot of her staying to pick up on something between him and Vernon. Meanwhile, am I wrong to like Chelesa having a storyline? Perhaps it's just because it's a black woman exploring her sexuality. Or it's the fact it's a black women triangle? Well, I guess not just a triangle if Allison is about to go stalker on poor Chelesa and Madison. But I wasn't bored with it. And I do want to see where it goes. I also want to see where the June storyline goes. I know it might seem irrelevant and very slow. But...that's a C plot for you. And we got another clue with the phone number with this episode. I do like slow burns though and this is being paced right IMHO. But I feel the show for the most part (note I said most, not all) paced their stories out enough that when it finally gets interesting, one is more invested. And good cliffhanger. Well-played. Good music. Good direction. And it could go either way. And we saw how that turned out so again...well-played. Other sidenote...Mike Manning is really looking like a snack in that red shirt.

To be revealed. Especially if our discussions of that second family and it being the Hawthornes turn out to bear fruit since the clear set-up is already there.

GH: Actor "grateful" to return
Don't get me started. I suspect (off of one scene) that my girl might have fallen foul of one of divas/os of that show and that's why her appearances completely dropped. They were setting up too much for her to believe otherwise. And to bow down to Sidwell? GIRL, BYE. I love those are his REAL pants in real life, too. Impressed.

ALL: "What's the Appeal of Soaps?" TV LINE ARTICLE
Well that's kinda shady knowing that there are fans who will easily get someone up on the speed of a show to get them caught up. Case in point...I was asked a few months ago to explain a storyline on a soap. And, as I was regularly watching at that point, I gave it nicely, briefly, and constructively...shocked at how easy I did it on one hand and at how good the story actually was on the other. But not all fans are going to be gatekeeping is my point since we all like new fans. At least I hope. That said...I do agree at how easy it is to access a soap once you drop off from it. Cuz I am getting back into DAYS slowly when I haven't watched since it moved to Peacock and there have been jarring moments due to recasts that I've long forgot about, but I have found it easy to do. Same for GH which I'm slowly starting to rewatch again as well. But I know if I have any questions, there are plenty of people willing to answer them.

Yeah, I was thinking that might be too out of the box. I was just reading a column and it was mentioned that Madison has not met Anita yet so it made me go hmmm. Could she be involved in that return story somehow? Or maybe I'm off base and Madison is related to Barbara. Meanwhile, June is probably going to connect to the twins and/or Hayley.

GH: Actor "grateful" to return
Okay when you say it like that...lol. I agree. I was actually happy at the reduced appearance of Sidwell honestly because before I stopped watching again, he was all over the place. So him at the ball and sponsoring it, but no slapsticky-ness to show him off just means that Frank had already moved on to his next Flavor of the Month and I felt blessed. Hmmmm Gio and those pants.

Y&R: July 2025 Discussion Thread
I still appreciated it. Otherwise, I wouldn't had even known about Danny and Christine and I love Danny and Christine. I felt the writing was on the wall before the reveal due to how all the parts of Damian's storyline that made him new and compelling were suddenly shifting. From complete resolution to him and Amy to the fallout between him and Holden when it had been firmly established that they were tight friends. Even the stuff with Lily. The only reason Damian stayed in town was that he was fascinated with her from first sight and she got him to lower his guard so he could rebuild his relationship with his mother. Heck, Cane is doing what I said months ago when Lily was doing this (helping Damian mend fences with Amy) cuz it would build in conflict for the inevitable Damian vs Victor confrontation that was coming. Back when Damian WAS the head of Dumas. And we already had on-air proof that Damian was crafty and cunning before that stupid twist...something Cane as Dum has not convinced me of at all. You even have characters saying how it sounds like something Colin would do. So NuCane needs propping now? Meanwhile, Damian already was established as being crafty and cunning. And should have been left in story as the head of Dumas. He also already had great chemistry with Lily. If BF had to be Cane...I like the idea mentioned of him just popping up in the company at Dumas after Damian and Lily got together to add conflict. Heck...he could be trying to take over Dumas (with Giggly Heffa) now in Colin's memory. And then use Dumas to aim at Chancellor. If JG wanted. Just a waste of characters and my time.

Same. I love me some Papa Pope jumping out of Vernon. And Clifton Davis is eating it up. I also love Smitty in this mode and the juiciness of how he's about to give himself a self-inflicted wound to his family life. Soapy and ironic. Same as well. The mess IS there. I saw that last night and giggled. Sell it, Ernestine!!! So many people are warming to Derek because so many of us love our Nosy Nurse and wish her nothing, but joy. Same. But I'm sure she is about to come back up in the A story rotation because the latest twist in Dani/Bill/Hayley will need time to grow and Martin's Secret is looking ready to finally climax/spin out. I predict start of August.

BTG: July 2025 Discussion Thread
It occurred to me a few days ago when Anita was having her confrontation with her castmates, but since I have wiggle room... ...was the anniversary party the last event we had? When the show started, I felt we were blessed with an event a week and stuff going down. Now, that we are in the rhythm of it all...if that was the LAST event, it's been almost two months. I guess we are overdue another one...with a reveal to boot. Oh, that was a given. TRUST. Bubble and all. I'm the biggest fan. Same. And I do like the last few days, that others have picked up on what I said a while ago...the SilkPress storyline is definitely stalling a bit. Very. As do I. It's been established what the A stories are (SilkPress, Dani/Bill/Hayley, Martin's Secret) and Martin's Secret was the only A story with not much development. Since I personally don't want to go back to Dani/Bill/Hayley yet and feel it's too soon...moreso now with the baby twist...I'm glad they have no choice but to finish off the last of their A stories by focusing on Martin's Secret. And it's been great. It's been building nicely. And I love that it has developed into a true umbrella storyline. Not only for the connecting of so many characters, but it's now starting to thread into other storylines as well. My only nitpick is the same as others. It seem like the secret happened longer than two years ago. As a result some things do not make sense like Martin's personality shift for example...or if there was one. Not to mention in comparison to the SilkPress storyline where the timeline seem so firm and detailed that we are all calling for a potential baby switch because there's been plausible hints underlining the whole storyline.

GH: Actor "grateful" to return
See? I love you, but I'm going to have to disagree on this year's Nurse Balls. I had stopped regularly viewing months ago due to how I feel about mostly Frank and CVE's writing and their style period and I came back for that and the 'hype' of whom coming...and...I thought it was surprisingly good soap in spite of myself and the stories. Moments! Cliffhangers...INCLUDING a Friday cliffhanger...with a move that is SOOOO Frank's style. Luckily it's working for him because I've been more or less watching regularly again...or jumping around developing on the bods/bubbles on display. But I digress. I think you know my love of female henchwomen (and diva hair tosses ) so Dr. O had me from first scene. And I was in love when she came to town for the Nurse Balls with a full diva head turn, shades pulled off. And I know it was silly, but her Cabernet song at the ball is still one of my favorites. So like you, I am looking forward to her being condescending anew. Yep. But looking at the tweets above...it seem like Frank might finally bring him out of time out.

I mean at least it was good filler involving a couple with history that has been well-liked. I only tuned in due to recommendations the Thursday episode. And outside of the DAYS technique hehe, I was very happy to see them. Took away from every time I rolled my eyes at NuCane.

Y&R: July 2025 Discussion Thread
Just finished it today and I was happy to see that. Though I can't believe I would be for a Damian/Lily/Cane triangle since I will already see Cane being the winner due to casting. Outside of the DAYS whiplash it gave me...I loved it, too. And YES on any and all actual old Y&R flashbacks (and MD was a hottie back in the day wow!) They really do which is why I always hoped they would get back together cuz the chemistry is there. Yeeeah I haven't read, but I saw Friday's Next Week preview and I was LIVID. I suspected as much cuz as I've said...all the elements that made Damian unique they been transferring to Dumas/Cane so not surprised. Stupid AF honestly. You see why I started to back away slowly from regular viewing.

Same. Cliffhanger aside (and who knows she might not know him and he's acting like a random in the park. I guess we will see on Monday), but that still seems stupid to me. Even post-covid outside of hospitality jobs where you have to show people how things work like internet connection. Ty I can see cuz he's so bookwormish and keeps to himself. But Samantha I expect better because she's so outgoing. Same. DD's inflection and look on the word DIRTY then dress is still living rent free in my head. Wiped the smirk right off of SilkPress's face...and TMG did such a great job of showing how the words hit with a subtleness in her eyes. She tried to recover, but you can see that SilkPress started to visually stumble after that direct hit.
