  1. Yeah, I don't see much long term potential for Miguel after Lily dies, which I can see the argument to at least keep him on canvas until then, but Riche was very good to him and let him go do his thing instead. I am not excusing Ricky's acting. It's horrible, but I do think he said he wasn't terribly comfortable acting in English yet. Clearly he was very fluent although I think he said he had trouble picking up some nuances in scripts. And let's be real. All jokes aside he probably had the most chemistry fighting with Mo in Spanish lol.
  2. I wouldn't say he had a strong entrance either. He was a hospital orderly, a bartender, then a singer. Idk, they seem to just want to put Miguel in different places for no reason (except the singing). It was clear when he started with L&B that there was going to be a triangle with Brenda/Sonny/Miguel. Then the show backed off and said Miguel had a long lost love that looked like Brenda. Idk, once everything fell apart and Brenda/Miguel were together you probably could have used him through Lily's death. At the end of the day Jax turned out to be the much better option so all's well that ends well.
  3. Maybe? I wouldn't count him though. I don't think there was much hype for him tbh even with the Menudo fame. Ricky asked to leave to do Broadway, so it's not like the show dumped him. I would put him in the same category as Lily. Not very popular characters that reached their conclusion.
  4. No. The first one probably lasted the longest.
  5. Ha! This is the answer. You never would have went after Leticia the nanny as your first victim though. She was way too inconsequential. You would have killed Carly for real, which (I think?) was the actual intended victim. You would never be so sloppy!
  6. Lol. I remember IS on Mo's show saying GH randomly called him saying we haven't revealed the killer yet so are you available? That would lead me to believe it wasn't the first instinct to go with Diego, a fairly unmemorable dead character.
  7. Gina was on some sort of apology tour over missing Stone's death and then started working at Luke's and kinda flirting with Jason. I feel like it may have been an attempt to keep Stone's memory alive since KMc was only popping in occasionally while she was off at school. And I think they might have been very softly testing her with Jason. Yeah, the show dumped Christie, Patrick, SJB, and Matt Ashford all on the same day lol. Idk. I think the actress was more of an issue than the writing. The show probably tested her with Ingo when she got hired, but they should have tested her with Vanessa Marcil instead. Brenda would eat Miranda alive in every scene so she never felt like a viable threat. RC dropped a lot of balls, but I don't think there much to save with such a weepy, weak willed character. I wouldn't have been against them recasting Miranda, rebooting the character, and giving her harder edges due to her trauma post-Brenda a few years down the line.
  8. I don't even think the idea of Miranda was terrible. It's not my favorite because I do think Jax would have been more honest with Brenda since he thought Miranda was dead anyway. Leslie Horan was just not a good choice. She had no chemistry with Ingo and looked vaguely nauseated or bored in every scene. She walked so KT/Britt could run with "nausea face" acting. The show was pretty flawless back then but I do recall them flopping with an actress that played a recast Gina Cates as well.
  9. I'd probably add Leslie Horan's Miranda on GH. I am not sure about coming in with fanfare lol, but the show definitely had bigger plans for the character (the Cassadine angle, Mac) and dumped the character after she was universally reviled. Miranda may have lasted slightly over a year though.
  10. I don't think Diego was always supposed to be the TMK. It felt a little tacked on. I think Cooper, Logan, and Johnny were always red herrings. Both Coop and Logan were killed off so it's not like the show had intentions of keeping them though. I'd be curious if anyone remembers any rumors on who it could have been? Lorenzo, maybe?
  11. The whole airline plot was one of the more stupid ideas Days has ever had and that's saying a lot. Without Mike or Laura around as any sort of buffer, we are just taking Jeremy's word that he was abandoned by Mike. And, yes, there was human trafficking involved. Agree about SJB too. It's a shame because she and EM's Brady made a pretty good couple and it's rare for EM to have chemistry with any of his leading ladies on Days lol. I think Madison and IB's character died in the same disaster. I don't want to make up rumors, but I remember Kelly and Mark were pretty open with their disdain for the story in the press. I don't recall them saying much about the actor, but I do believe there were rumors he was maybe a bit rough with her in those cave scenes while she was pregnant or not very accommodating to her pregnancy? Anyhow, it did seem like a natural conclusion to that arc, but I have no idea if there were plans to keep Tanner on longer in the beginning either.
  12. The show goes down a slippery slope with Dr. Rolf bringing every character ever back from the dead, so I guess characters believed there was a slim possibility he could still be alive. At the same time characters would point out Stefano would be a very old man so it's unlikely. Idk, I dislike the tease of it. It was okay the first few years after JM passed to keep it mysterious, but it's been far too long now.
  13. TD was pretty bad, but the writing for Jeremy was awful too. I wouldn't have recast either. It was a bad idea to make Jeremy Horton an absolute villain. I am not sure even a good actor could have made that work. Am I wrong in remembering it may have been something personal between the actor and Kelly/Mark? Or that they were both strongly against a triangle and made it known? It is funny how ABC Daytime went all in on Australian hunks back then because Ingo/Jax still ended up being the only successful one. For Days I would say Sarah Brown's Madison. She came in with fanfare, was fairly well received, then entered a weird story with Ian Buchannan's character and dumped. Actually, most of SJB's post-Carly roles could fall into this category.
  14. Stefano was presumed dead. They never found his body. I never paid a ton of attention to the narrative because I knew JM was gone although I don't think anyone thought he was truly alive. But everyone would say the Phoenix always rises and idiotic Susan was having premonitions that Stefano was alive plus Marlena was having dreams about Stefano so it was still being teased. Anyhow if the show really wanted to end Stefano for good it would have made more sense for John to die while finally killing Stefano. I am still not a huge fan of how John died, but perhaps the show didn't want to deal with two major deaths at once even though JM has been dead for a long time.
  15. Honestly, it's probably not that weird or uncommon in most parts of the world and even certain places here, but I don't know why you would do that when you don't have to. But, hey, if they retcon Charlotte into a non-Cassadine I won't complain.
  16. Yeah, the cousins thing is weird no matter how distant it is. It's not like the show couldn't bring back Jake or show Georgie. Besides, I am not exactly needing a young teen romance right now either.
  17. Jake barely exists so the show makes you forget it. Britt/Jason aren't bad when she isn't the worst character on the show, but that only happens 5% of the time.
  18. Well at least they weren't related lol. Kind of a jerk move on Danny's part to steal his brother's ex or whatever that was lol. Danny, go find Georgie or something.
  19. Wasn't Jake the one that was all sweet on Charlotte pre-recast? And obviously before Jake disappeared.
  20. I would assume the idea was a Doug 3/Holly/Ari triangle at one point, but that ended so quickly maybe not? I don't mind her supporting her family and friends and she's a good talk to. There is a place for characters like that on soaps, but I don't think it's the place for Gabi/Will/Sonny's daughter. Tbh, that's probably the space Holly should have been put in since Nicole isn't around, but Ari is related to half the men in town so I get it.
  21. Honestly Ari as a character has had little to no motion. Outside of the Doug arc, which ended quickly, she's had nothing to do but support other people. I like the actress and character she's just had almost no story.
  22. I know it's cliche, but I like the idea of the whole town being stuck in a snowstorm. The characters they are choosing to focus on? Not so much. I am not as bored as everyone else seems to be, but the Joss story is taking me out. The dread of Valentin/Carly is also a miss for me.
  23. The Portia and Trina scenes were at least well done. The Joss scenes were ridiculous and she sounded like such a liar. Plus, she openly took a drink from a strange man she doesn't know which seems stupid. It probably won't lead anywhere, but that just seems risky. And, seriously, how many times can Lulu lose Charlotte lol? Thankfully, Valentin and Carly are playing checkers while waiting for a teenage girl to come find them in a storm. Enthralling. And the previews tomorrow? Don't get me started.
  24. Portia was really obnoxious in those scenes. I can't believe she asked Trina to make her some tea and cookies lol. Unrelated, but is Joss an idiot? What is her plan? To talk to the WSB guy and make up the most ridiculous lies? You were taking a full on keg on a boat to another island for a party in a storm by yourself? That's...not even something anyone would do and an easy lie to disprove in 5 mins.
  25. I remember they put a fake mole on Sam and she acted as a Brenda decoy too during that time and Brenda effed up the whole sting operation lol. Sam also went to Maxie to get a "makeover" to look sexy for Jason when Brenda first came back. To be fair to Sam though I would have been annoyed with Spinelli in this period just because he was annoying all the time. Oh, I don't blame Kimberly at all. In 1998 she had story but I can't imagine it was that satisfying. She was playing house with Jason and Michael and a friend to Brenda during her breakdown then got kidnapped by Tony. Robin was mostly the secondary focus in all her stories.
