All: Characters you thought would come back but never did
I would think it was supposed to be John at one point? That's what I assumed, but with John/Stefano being potential fathers of Greta and Hope's baby at the same time I don't even know what was happening back then. That whole Langan era was just odd. It was still trying to be JER's Days, but also so focused on the teens. I hated it at the time, but I think I was just spoiled from the 90's Unfortunately, Greta was just a bit of a dud of a character. I liked her, but she wasn't really anything memorable no matter how much the show pushed her for awhile.

All: Characters you thought would come back but never did
She was mentioned quite a bit in Beyond Salem so it's very possible she'll be back. I am surprised she never came back though with all the Princess Gina crap they have pulled through the years. Does it even matter at this point? Stefano is dead and John has plenty of kids. It wouldn't even be dramatic. Marlena took Paul and Leo being/potentially being John's kids without so much batting an eyelash, but I guess it deserves an ending lol. There was so much fuss and we didn't even get a conclusion. I thought she did say it wasn't John when she left though.

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
I liked today's episode. It was a very entertaining non-Possession episode. Sami really makes everything better. Some thoughts that are silly- They brought back Phillip's fake leg lol. I thought that wasn't a thing anymore. You would think Sami would want to take a shower and change instead of running around town, but I guess she doesn't have a place to live, so? I have a really hard time believing Kate would be with a man who had a weekly bowling night. I have a hard time Marlena would as well. NVM, Grandpa John is probably on Roman's bowling team, but at least we know he's still badass. Why does the show make Roman so uncool? Lol! Was Lucas just running the pub because Roman was gone? Was Kate in charge? Does Roman not have employees? I actually think NB is doing a good job with this story and I have never thought NB was much of an actress.

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
Right? Aside from the whole alcohol thing why can't Brady remember he was sober, getting John food at the Brady pub, and knocked out? Also Brady made an excellent point about being THAT intoxicated. He's not going to run around town killing sober people and making coherent drunk text threats. He would be passed out or easily subdued lol. I am not saying it couldn't happen in the heat of the moment, but he had to physically seek out Phillip and kill him with an alcohol level that's practically incapacitating. And should Shawn be telling Belle all this police business about her brother lol?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I loved OC tonight and thought it was an excellent episode. This did feel to me like Heather was making very calculated, well thought out moves. Heather yelling at Gina and Shannon? Making them the bad guys (albeit briefly with Gina) and Terry and Heather 'forgiving' Nicole? Well played. Heather knows what she's doing acting like all's forgiven with Nicole then pushing her out behind the scenes and letting Gina/Emily back in. Her freak out with the initial news and pushing the cameras away makes me think she went upstairs, talked to Terry/producers, and made herself a gameplan that would benefit the Dubrows the most. It was smart, but none of felt genuine. I loved it anyway. That's why Heather is the queen.

GENERAL HOSPITAL December 2021 Discussion Thread
It's a shame because I think LW's curly hair is really beautiful and everyone on soaps has the same blown out hair. It might not fit everyday Carly, but if she's casual and at home I think it's fine. But I like when characters were glasses or ponytails and don't look sleek and 'perfect' to make them more real.

GH: Classic Thread
I totally get the point he is trying to make since GH is historically bad with most long term vets, but even shows that are good with vets like Days have, what, 2 cast members that have been around that long as well. It's not insane with that small of the cast and the time that has passed in for GH

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
You know what I just saw it floating around. It could totally be agenda based lol. I forgot EJami had a very intense fanbase. Nicole/Rafe are really just the lamest couple. Tripp/Ali are more exciting.

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
I have never thought KL was attractive really, but I was watching yesterday and thought he looks pretty hot today. I think it's the lack of goofy hair he usually sports. That cut looked nice. Plus, I just think he looks better older than he did as a younger guy. I am happy about Lucas rescuing her too. But

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
This is from today or yesterday. Not the best picture, but he looked good. Also, he has never looked more like John Black's son than in that picture. Which is neither here nor there since he doesn't play Brady anymore, but they do look alike.

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
I haven't thought Rex was needed ever. But I thought KL looked really hot today and I generally never think that. The devil helping Phillip would make too much sense so i doubt it's true, but it would be a way to get him out of that corner and the Devil would screw with Brady to torment John/Marlena.

ALL: Characters you are surprised lasted so long
They are a lot alike. I guess Robert/Holly and Anna/Duke were just better. I haven't seen much of Robert/Katherine, but I have seen several people say they really liked them. I have always just thought it was interesting how magazines, polls, the show etc. considers them a supercouple and most people were just okay about them. But then again those same magazines, polls, and show considers Sonny/Carly a supercouple so I shouldn't be surprised.

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
I know it's stupid for me to question this of all things, but I kept thinking how is that humanly possible? Maybe the devil is helping Phillip lol. Lol! That could be. It seems excessively time consuming and gross, but why not?

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
I know everyone will tell me to stop trying to make things logical on Days, but Kayla said Brady had three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. We know he was set up because he was sober when he got knocked in the head. How would one make it appear he had alcohol in his system? That makes no sense. Was a concussed Brady force fed alcohol for hours? The plan is pretty good so far, but wouldn't it have been much easier to just inject Brady with coke/heroin whatever in 2 mins instead?

ALL: Characters you are surprised lasted so long
It's weird when I hear people watching at the time didn't actually like Robert/Anna together. It seems to be a fairly popular consensus. It's strange that the coupling has reached a sort of supercouple like status over the years even though it sounds like people preferred Robert/Anna with others. Not really on topic, but it's just something I wondered about. I guess Robin being their child and them being married at the time of their deaths made the lore of their romance better than it actually was.

ALL: Characters you are surprised lasted so long
Like when Austin ran over Sami twice on Days! I still giggle about that. Not to get too off topic either, but I thought the original concept of PC was pretty good and the cast was very good. In fact I think they took some talent that could have been useful to the mother show in that era. GH had like no 20 something females that landed in that era after Brenda/Robin left (besides Carly) and PC had a bunch. Unfortunately, it was just boring. Riche was being extended in too many ways and both shows suffered.

ALL: Characters you are surprised lasted so long
God, she was boring. And so bland I couldn't tell you what she looked like or pick her out of a line up today. Which I don't know why that was appealing to Ned as a non-virginal, non-religious man near 30 or why she would lie about it. I thought it was hilarious when she was exposed as being a mistress to a senator or congressman by Brenda or Julia (can't remember which). Jenny didn't seem like she had that in her. I don't know how she stole Paul away from Tracy.
-
ALL: Characters you are surprised lasted so long
Not disagreeing but wasn't Jenny around torturing us for a little longer than that? Sly was definitely around longer, but he was a kid. And didn't they throw Mac at Holly for a minute which might have helped him as well.

Well, you had me at that one for a second, but I doubt JJY's salary/appearances even come close to what Vanessa wanted lol.

Reilly on DAYS - a renewed appreciation
It was weird Tony just integrated himself like it was no big deal. Back to Anna, back to daily life, he wasn't even confused about the advances in technology over the years. I guess Tony is just not easily phased by such things. Plus, he had a pretty good island life. Roman was in a freakin dungeon lol. As far as 90's days triangles, I would agree it was like fairytales. A clear villian and heroine/hero. It was just a bizarre time where women thought a child was going to make a man love you forever and ever, especially with Billie/Kristen, whose men had children with the women they were up against. I bag on Days but most soaps had that formulaic approach with triangles. Rarely was there a triangle with two men and one woman and everyone was a decent human being. The only popular ones of that era I can think of are Sonny/Brenda/Jax on GH, Marlena/Roman/John and maybe Mike/Austin/Carrie on Day. I am sure there are more examples of course.

Didn't he get money from Isabella as well? I am not even sure if him and Marlena ever got their money back from the time EJ/Stefano stole it when John was painted to be a Bernie Madoff ponzi schemer about 10 years ago. Or maybe Basic Black has made enough where it can fund itself now?

ALL: Characters you are surprised lasted so long
That was my first thought as well. The kids. Robin needed someone to raise her. The show was invested in her. Sean and Tiffany would have been the only other logical options to raise her and they were being phased out. Plus, I think being the Police Commissioner and owning the Outback gave him several easy things to do to be involved in plot, even peripherally. Mac always had things to do it the 90's whether it be raising Robin/Maxie/Georgie, Stone's story, The Kevin/Ryan story, or Katherine Bell. He's just really the epitome of a solid supporting character.

Reilly on DAYS - a renewed appreciation
That is fair. I do understand that. My point Sami should have a stronger attachment to John because that's what we saw on screen previously. It's just really hard to know what happy family times the Marlena/Roman family unit had because Eric/Sami were shipped off for the holidays as kids and AS came back as Sami in Jan I think? that next year, so they weren't gone long before the SORASing. It was only a month or so in real time. Anyhow, I totally see your point. I just had a hard time wrapping my head around that Roman/Sami bond, but I also think I am overthinking it. The Sami stuff that makes me cringe is the post-Affair reveal time when she was really clingy with him and Roman allowed it and almost reveled in her hatred for Marlena. Sami's lifelong obsession with her parents being together long into her adulthood has always been strange to me.

GH: Fall Spoilers
I know an Esme in real life too. I actually know a 30 year Gladys (it was a family name and she goes by Grace), but these names exist. I don't think I ever met a Brando though. It does sort of track for someone in Sonny's family to be named after a Godfather actor though.
