Spinelli is better than 90% of Maxie's love interests tbh. The show put so much into them with the non wedding, the baby, and then they just fizzled out completely lol. And let's be honest it's very creepy to think of Todd Manning hooking up with Belle Black. 🤣

I don't even care about Spinelli/Maxie, but I can't believe they didn't reunite them years ago.

Lol! I am not sure I need to see Julie's heaving bosoms these days, but Julie and SSH seem much more diva like than this. But Julie's entire characterization has been off for years. Julie isn't a screeching, grumpy, slightly racist old shrew and that's how she's portrayed. It's not just out of character writing-the core of Julie's personality has completely changed. The Hayes seem much more mellow than they were, but I wonder if Susan even likes the way Julie is now.

So neither Kayla or Marlena lose their jobs. That's a lot of handwringing for nothing, but it was like an episode and a half of drama, so whatever.

This is Labine. It's in 1995 a little after Stone died. Sonny is handing his partnership of Luke's over to Lucy because he's being investigated by the feds, but Sonny ends up getting arrested at the party. He takes a deal with Lily's father to get out and marries Lily and you know the rest lol. I believe Guza starts in March 1996, so a couple of months before Lily blows up. I know he gets credit for Clink, Boom, but I have never been clear how far Labine's projections went with that story. I always wondered if it was Guza's idea or if he just tweaked an existing Labine idea and Lily was always going to die.

What a waste of time. At least let us see the fallout. Again like the devil Possession 2.0 we knew it was going to be bad, but this also turned out much worse than I thought. Didn't Craig just take the Chief of Staff job as well? So he's content to ruin both his personal and professional life over LEO! Ugh......

I guess, but I think all these actresses started young. Suzanne started working at 17. There's a different era and just keeping up with the times.

Agree. It's not the worst outfit I have ever seen. It just feels so not Julie. And again, she's not much older than Maggie, Marlena, Anna, and so on, but she projects so much older and she's still stunning. And with her acting style, she is just seems form an entirely different era.

She's a lot more Rose than Blanche these days. And Julie is a Blanche for sure.

Yeah, I am not saying Julie should look 30, but a little less BINGO night at the community center. Doug still dresses up, but Julie looks like she's retired in Miami. Listen, I understand these people are in their 70's plus, but it does seem slightly out of character.

Yeah, there is a difference between naturally aging and looking old. And Anna doesn't look 25 anymore but she always looks great. On the flip side, I think SSH could spruce up her look a bit. She's only a few years older than DH and dresses significantly older. SSH can do whatever she wants, but I miss a more glamourous Julie. I feel like Julie is a character that would still be wearing high heels and trying to be on trend even in her 70's.

I thought Days was decent through the 90's and early 2000's. I think post SSK is where it got really bad. Once they got rid of the Penthouse I knew the show was out of money though.

I can't say any of the men really stick out for me as looking bad. Will with his sweaters and FS's Sonny with suits had their moments. I would tone Leo down, but most of the men look decent if only because they are blandly wearing jeans and t-shirts. You know who consistently looks great is Leann/Anna? She always looks glamourous. It's not the exact right look for Kate/Marlena, but I wish they would take some tips.

I always wanted to take a set tour lol. I would have probably gotten arrested for fangirling Deidre Hall too hard though. I have only seen it from the street because I lived in LA and was going from point A to B. There was a lot going on with that set. It had the movie theater, the java cafe, places for people to walk and bump into one another, and all the store fronts. It was cool even though I believe it probably wasn't as impressive as it looked.

I think Drake is just someone who has a natural charisma and likeability. Clearly he's nothing special as an actor, but he's a very good scene partner for men and women. He's good looking and in good shape enough for the ladies to like him, but he also seems like someone you could have a beer with. He just seems like a nice guy and I don't think I have ever heard anyone say a bad word about him, so I get the impression people just like working with him and it shows on screen.

True lol! I honestly don't think MR's Jen always looks bad, but the last few appearances I was unclear what she was going for, but pre-Covid I mostly thought Missy did look decent. I do like MR's hair though right now. Kayla/MBE is another one that dresses awful. Those floral dresses. I know it's two different characters, but Katherine Bell always looked so sleek. I know MBE has it in her. I also think ED's Kristen and SH's Kristen dress completely differently as well. There are several actors that do okay. Lani, Belle, Gwen, Sami, Chloe, Gabi, Ava, Chanel, and Allie generally manage to look okay consistently.

Bo/Hope truly had some of the worst stories after KA returned. The Princess Gina rehashes and inserting Billie and Carly just never worked. Even when stories had potential it seemed a regime change would happen and things would get rewritten or scrapped for them. Post 1994, the only story I thought was strong for them was the baby switch and they ended up killing off Zach and J.T. was never heard of again, so it ended up having little long term effect. Going further into it, KA seemed to flounder in most stories away from Bo, while PR/RKK proved Bo could stand on his own a little easier, so I think the defacto storyline for them was break them up over something stupid then get them back together after a few months/years.

I loved Salem Place. You could see it from the street if you drove past the studio in Burbank. The last big set I remember Days doing is that huge set for Basic Black. John had a humungous office with views lol. The moment Marlena sold the penthouse (offscreen-while John was in a coma) I knew the money was gone for Days.

I will have to look that up. I don't recall much about Gossett's Lexie. I believe you. Drake seemed to be someone who had chemistry with quite a few women on the show.

For sure. It's not even that they wear inexpensive items. Gabi and Ciara definitely wear pricier, trendy items. It seems like wardrobe lets the actors wear their own personal style whether or not it fits the character they are playing. MM's Abby wearing every dowdy floral maxi dress in existence doesn't fit the character. Kate Mansi wore a completely different look.

I actually don't think she looks dowdy. She looks put together-it's just ugly and boxy and well, butch lol. I never thought Marlena had great styling, but it's gotten progressively worse. Her hair and makeup usually look good though and I notice even with the ugliest outfits she's wearing high heels lol. But this really isn't just a Marlena problem. Half the cast wears hideous clothes. Gabi and Chloe are probably the only two characters that look consistently good.

Marcus really got the shaft his entire run. For someone who was on the show for 7 years he didn't do much of anything. He had chemistry with a few women on the show, but the pairings seem to be squashed because they were white. Even though I don't hate Shane/Kayla, it's way more offensive than Marcus/Kayla IMO.

They did not go all the way with Kayla/Marcus. I believe Marcus was in love with her, but she thought it was too soon after Steve's death and then the show went with Shane/Kayla. That reeked of network interference

Or, you know, reveal herself to her family and get herself some clothes lol. I never got her lurking around for so long. Sure RoJohn's engaged, but people would probably like to know your alive. I forget what company it was @JAS0N47 would know, but Deidre Hall had a wardrobe by credit back then. So someone besides Dee had input in that whole situation.
