  1. Probably and they could have always brought Laura back if they found the right recast because......it's Days.
  2. I trust Eric more than Sloan lol. Plus, I doubt Eric's pictures of the African Wilderness bring in the bucks like Sloan's job.
  3. Lol, yeah. At least Stefan buying the Bistro is a round about way to help Gabi, so he has a minor excuse.
  4. Yeah, but I thought he hasn't worked as one since he left Basic Black. Maybe he is doing his own shows-I totally missed that. He doesn't reference it often. Where does he develop and store these photos though? Unless they are all old ones. Honestly, if the show did say that-it works for me. At least it's something. Even if the show just said Eric wanted to be a stay at home dad that would be interesting. I know no one really works on soaps, but most of the characters at least reference the jobs they have.
  5. I think Sloan's switch from a career minded women not looking for commitment to marriage and a baby was lightning fast. I think the appeal of Eric is that he is just a nice, honest, basically normal guy. I don't Sloan ever had that in a romantic partner. She's had a lot of trauma, she has no family, I can see her clinging to Eric as the only stability in her life. I know that hasn't exactly been expressed on screen and I am giving it more thought than the writers have, but it's how connected the dots here. Eric does seriously need to get a job though. Even if it just helping Roman manage the pub. I need to pretend he makes some money here.
  6. I think Tiffany was more difficult to ground and find a place for. Sean has a few more options for me just with the nature of his job. Once the show reunited Tiffany/Sean I think they were written into a corner. It really seems easier to give them their happy ending than to go back down the road of more angst and cheating. I could see them lasting through Labine, but I could never imagine Sean/Tiffany in a Guza world. I'll have to check out some clips of Jessica and see what I think. I do agree with those that say TR hasn't aged well. On the other hand I always thought Finola looked much younger than him so it doesn't phase me. I also enjoyed Olivia/Robert so obviously the age difference didn't bother me. Tristian does come off as a grumpy grandpa sometimes, I just don't think it would hinder Anna's viability.
  7. Yeah, it's been years and I only saw DH/Marlena's edit but there were a lot of mentioned parallels at the time about her looks/personality compared to Laura. Marlena even said she wasn't a natural blonde so she didn't worry about Mickey trying to hurt her. Her children probably prove otherwise with the blonde thing lol. But it's interesting to the think about the behind the scenes acts to make Marlena low key the new Laura and how it grew. But pivoting her to Don instead of the Hortons.
  8. This all makes sense. I just thought Anna/Robert had some lovely scenes in Nightshift 2 that made me think the romance was still workable. Again I know it's more Luke/Laura, Holly/Robert, Duke/Anna, Frisco/Felicia and Sonny/Brenda as the top 5 considered supercouples of GH across the internet, but I still think TR/FH work quite well together. I guess my point is the separate pairings they are doing right now work way worse than Anna/Robert.
  9. I am not a great historian on this but it seems like it was a bridge between Oliver and Forsyth. I know DH was "temporary" or recurring for awhile and she herself said she was just a 6 week character. I think it was more of a device to help Mickey with a new blonde shrink while they figured out what to do with Laura. I personally think it's one of those things were a character took off while Laura burned through a lot of story and suffered from recasts.
  10. Like I said it actually doesn't feel unrealistic. Just dated and done before. Nothing thus far has been "bad" about the story-it's just not bringing anything new to the table. GH goes with baby stories 90% of the time so it's not shocking to me.
  11. It's really hard for me to say about Flannery vs. JLB. I can only go off of clips I have seen years ago. That really don't exist anymore. I think part of the issue with this in the 90's is that Marlena/Laura are built on a very similar characterization. Marlena came in to 'replace' Laura basically, so it was probably way too redundant to cast someone to close to Flannery just based on the fact 90's Days was built around Marlena. I don't think it was right, but I can see the logic behind it. They already had 2 Romans
  12. I don't really get the Anna/Robert hate. I can see why Holly/Robert have more love, but I also don't find A/R that bad? It's obviously all on clips and not a whole show context so I could be missing a lot. They just seem decent to me. I am open to hear anyone's thoughts about it though.
  13. Haha! Sometimes a derailment of the thread is the only way to get people talking on here. I do think there is something relevant about talking about how Robert could have fit in the 90's and how he fits now. I actually think it would work better than it does today because I don't think the show has any clue what to do with him and he has Anna, but he's without a lot of his contemporaries and his daughter which makes a huge difference IMO.
  14. Yeah, I am not against Anna/Robert as much as some people because I can't stand Anna/Valentin either. I think there should have been more with Robert/Olivia and think this Ned/Eddie stuff should have brought them closer with Lois arriving and making it an interesting quad. But I get real life stuff is in the way. And I will gladly go back to talking about 1993 GH lol.
  15. It comes across a little dated for me. I just think a lot of the world has opened their mind to LBGTQ lifestyles but a lot still hasn't. It doesn't feel groundbreaking or exciting, but it also doesn't feel out of the realm of possibility.
  16. I think JLB's Laura got relegated to a side character pretty quickly too. After 1995? 96? She was mostly Marlena's talk to about John and trying to meddle in her kids love life. She rarely did anything specifically about "her". Not to mention this poor woman had to play out a story where she was poisoned by toxic/hallucinogenic wall paint lol.
  17. I think JLB's Laura came off a little goofy and looney just because of JER. I never found her believable as a shrink and Marlena defies a lot of credibility as a shrink, but I still found it relatively believable. It is weird Bill just dipped in and out for the story. Even if Kate moved into Victor's atmosphere there was more to play with Laura/Bill. And Laura was entirely without a love interest (besides Jack!!!) her entire run.
  18. It's seriously not a bad story and if they had to insert Leo/Dmitri into this and they acted the way every other player in this story has been it might be close to good or passable. Instead they are calling each other "pookiebear",making jokes, and having insane overreactions. Their scenes don't fit the tone of the story at all. It's fascinating because Eric was almost shaming Sloan for doing her job and going to see a client. Does Eric even have a job? Lol. It could be interesting dynamics because you would assume Sloan is the entire breadwinner here.
  19. This is so well thought out and interesting. I would have love to see this type of story. I can't say I thought much of Tiffany/Sean leaving when they did. I guess the interest just wasn't there for Labine. I never thought much of Jessica and am not sure she was worth developing and investing in, but I love your ideas.
  20. I tend to agree with this. There have been obviously quite a few Brenda replacement attempts, but Hannah was probably the most blatant. It was even part of her story that she looked so much like Brenda and that was the reason she was chosen to infiltrate Sonny's organization. I don't argue that early Sam was a Brenda rip off down to the looks and pairings, but I don't think they are alike at all now and haven't been for years and years.
  21. I don't know why Leo/Dmitri are written so joke-y about this. I know it's probably Ron, but this material should be played as serious. And we all know both actors can do well with serious material. It's especially out of place with the way Ari and DF are playing it in the same episode. I actually get Sloan's frustration about Eric just waltzing to the hospital to get Jude's DNA tested. That's a crazy thing to do without informing your partner/mother of the child. I am really enjoying this story overall though. I always thought TB and BB had okay chemistry even back when it was Ava/Jake. I still think she has more with SB, but I still can't shake the feeling I am wasting my time with Harris. I guess I got my update on Gabi today lol So..Eric knows his uncle he was name after is a pedophile? That's interesting. I don't think anyone has ever really talked about that after the Kim story wrapped up. Although I have never met a Jude (outside of the character that terrorized Hope in the 90's), I don't hate it.
  22. I just found Tiffany to be veering on pathetic with the story. And she was so glamorous in my eyes as a kid. Obviously looking at it with adult eyes there are steps that lead Tiffany to these places. It still just feels out of character for her. And also taints the Tiffany/Sean lovestory quite a bit. You are articulating some of the ways I see Robert/Luke/Sonny shaking out better than I could. Do you know if some of the Stone story was rushed because of ASJ leaving and then MS letting GH know about his desire to leave? It does feel like Stone's arc moves fast from troubled kid to AIDS victim. Not the telling of the AIDS story, but the quick jump he made to hero from the time Jagger left to his diagnosis.
  23. Agreed on all of the above. They have no chemistry, it feels like this 'romance' has gone on forever, and nothing has even happened between them that's substantial. The show has no real investment in the romance but is hanging on to it because they can't figure out anything better to do. You know I've personally thought Diane outlived her usefulness by 2011 and has lasted way too long on this show.
  24. I do agree with that. There is little to no fault in the Stone/Robin story as it was told. Just interesting to think about how Anna/Robert would have fit in. Lol. That's very graphic...and specific. I would just transfer Diane to Alaska so I would never have to see her again or hear about her teenage relationship drama with Robert.
  25. Agreed. But if I ran GH I wouldn't pretend the non starter Diane/Robert romance was cute or charming either. I was thinking more in the vein of Robert helping Luke and defeating Frank Smith because he was the 'bad guy' not so much as Robert being outwitted or outplayed by Sonny/Jason. Plus, it would have been interesting to see both Robert/Anna as an active part in Stone and Robin's story.
