I was laughing that the specialist Dr told EJ that she didn't need to be there because the results were self explanatory. He wasn't the father. She was just going to let EJ read that by himself lol? There were clear variances I am sure she was aware of but wouldn't follow up at all? That's actually how the show explained it. So silly... I am not sure what Marlena was thinking. I thought maybe it was because Kayla had already reviewed her patient files when Marlena was suspended for her MarDevil actions, but that didn't seem to be the case or at least Kayla didn't acknowledge it.

I think Gabi's dress was supposed to more artsy or avant-garde since she's a designer or something. I prefer hair down under a veil lol. I remember Days used to change up the color slightly for brides on their third or fourth wedding day. I feel like Sami, Carrie and Hope at least all had slightly beige-y colors for their dresses and Marlena wore light blue to her "main" John wedding in 99. I guess it just doesn't matter anymore lol. I have honestly never known anyone in real life who had a double wedding. I actually have never heard of it outside of tv shows or movies. If anyone on this board knows someone who's done it in real life let me know.

Double weddings are really weird to me. Why would you want to share that day? Period. These 4 barely know each other, but I think it's just a strange concept in general. The only case I could sort of understand it is in when Carrie/Austin and John/Marlena did it. They've both had weddings to one another a million times so why not? I guess we have to see how the Sloan stuff plays out on Monday because it seemed massively stupid to me too @j swift And, honestly, I liked both the wedding dresses. Jada's dress was fabulous though.

A second tablet would be much cheaper than a house. I feel like Spinelli's daughter would have top of the line electronic equipment though. Doesn't Spinelli actually have custody of Georgie anyway? Idk, I don't think Wiley looks demonic-he's just completely unnatural on camera. GH used to be so good at casting child actors. I am sure they could find a blond 7 or 8 year old with more energy. I am sure working with Duell and MacMullen would drain the life out of anyone, but then don't give him so many lines and airtime. It's not so much Willow enjoys doing laundry. It was that there was an entire scene about it. Does anyone think Michael relates? Do you think he's ever done laundry in his life? Do we think he would live in a house without a maid? I actually wondered if the injury was written in before GH knew the seriousness of HP's accident and Haley broke her leg and the show just didn't write it out. It seems like a lot of trouble to get the new actress a cast, but with the strike and everything maybe it was easier than scrap a day's worth of dialogue.

It's so funny. I was just watching yesterday and today's episode and I thought the same thing. The kid that plays Wiley gets waaaaay too much screen time and is so awkward. I think we all know how I feel about Finn's spawn. But Maxie's kids actually seem like real children. Also, can't Maxie just buy two tablets for her kids? Why did Molly randomly have an accident? Did the new actress hurt herself? The whole thing was weird. I wish Nina/Carly didn't fight over Willow's like it's cool to have Willow's attention. That girl likes to fold laundry. Also, did Carly fire all her employees? Why is she bussing tables and doing to go orders? This Curtis/Portia story could not be more boring and cliche. They really get the worst material and DT is particularly awful at whatever he's trying to do with his acting here.

You could almost understand if Leo/Dmitri had long term longing for each other and grew into a love story where the obstacle was Gwen and both wanted to do right by her. But, no, it's nothing but lust between them and a minute of hesitation on Leo's part. It doesn't even make sense. If Gwen finds out he will lose the only person in town who likes him, his "home", and his job for a magic penis. He's not a villian-he's just a horrible person and an idiot.

I agree EJ is trying to right his wrongs with a new chance at fatherhood. You would think it would start with his current children, but he doesn't seem overly invested in Johnny or even mention Sydney. I think JS's EJ was pretty interested in at least having children if only to continue his bloodline. It's hard to reconcile DF's EJ with the previous EJ. It truly is a different character. Honestly, the show probably should have just cast DF's EJ as some corporate raider trying to take over Dimera or something. I think DF is good and likable-just not EJ. And when you think about it, the show hardly capitalizes on EJ's history-Stefano's gone, Sami's gone, Sydney's not around, he barely interacts with Johnny. If DF played a new character he wouldn't have had the weight of Ej's history and audience expectations plus he could have still done that Stefan/Kristen/Megan rivalry stuff as someone taking over their business.

It would have been a much better story if Leo resisted Dmitri for even a second. Or Dmitri actually thinking he did love Gwen and could make the marriage work. There isn't a slow burn to anything as usual. Marlena is a really good shrink despite what we think. She cured Whitley in under an hour. @j swift I had the same question about Eric/Nicole/Sloan et al. No one said anything about Marlena almost dying at Whitley's or about Abe being alive when Belle, Brady, Eric all had scenes together. I am wondering if we are watching a full day for people in certain stories (Abe, Li) and that same day over again for other (EJ/Nicole/Eric). What I am trying to say is Monday's show on Days is Monday, but Tuesday's show is meanwhile elsewhere in Salem's full day on Monday. I don't know it's very confusing because some weeks it feels like we are following all the characters chronologically through the same day. It seems like an editing thing.

A few others have pointed out my major issues of concern @ranger1rg. Contracts, gag orders, etc. @j swiftpointed out this could veer into victim shaming if Deidre or whoever doesn't come forward publicly. We have no idea what they did privately nor do we know how Alarr personally victimized them. If someone would like to come forward with a statement that is their choice. It's also someone's choice not to as the cast and crew were the victims. People like Lisa Rinna and Peter Reckell can make statements without any fear of repercussions. @ranger1rg I know you are trying to advocate for the victims and think someone like Deidre would make a difference, but I think this is a much more complicated and nuanced situation then just a cast and crew banding together to solve it. Anyway, I have mostly stayed out of this discussion except for that one post you quoted that was mostly about today's episode actually. I don't pretend to have the answers about this and I am just sad for everyone at Days that had to put up with that for years.

For some reason I remember hearing Deidre did not like Alarr on a different board and was very upset about Meng leaving. Obviously, I don't know if that is true and I actually don't expect her to make a statement. It would be nice if she did, but I actually don't expect anyone to on the cast to. It's not their job and it's a pretty dicey situation when he's still actively employed. Anyway, today's episode was okay. I actually did find the Ben/Trask/Li/True crime lady stuff funny and the last scene when Alex was asking Stephanie/Chad about his glasses was funny too. I don't feel bad for Gwen exactly, but it's still a horrible thing to do to her. It also makes me think Leo is a sociopath for going along with it. So it's not making him look better. There was a very real possibility she would have gone along with the plan if she was told the truth. ETA is did write Ben instead of Alex and I am just going to leave it there lol

I am still confused why Abe had a deputy mayor so opposed to his family? Wouldn't this have caused multiple issues for years and not been brand new info to Chanel/Paulina?

I respect your detailed response and I figured my take would not be popular. I still think some of this is at least something you might anticipate dealing with as a soap opera writer or really any high profile writer. I absolutely believe she has every right to defend herself against critics and she seems to be responding quite thoughtfully. I also think this feeds the trolls no matter what. She's spotlighting it's hurtful and hurtful to her co-workers. That can be taken out of context to those people that their words are working and effective. Bottom line, if she feels better about saying this and defending herself, good for her. If it is affecting her mental health, I would just stay off social media for awhile or even seek out certain boards that have more thoughtful insights. A lot of us on here would be happy to give articulate feedback to her!😂 Unfortunately, I think we will all be waiting a long time......

It would be funny if she was like, "good luck dating Sonny's lackey! My sons going to graduate from an ivy league school!" It would be hypocritical, but worth it to me! Also, if Joss can dip into her trust fund why couldn't she just buy Carly's house and let her live in it. If the deeds in Joss's name and you can take gifts or business from your family can't she just charge Carly some rent and be done with it? It honestly seems less sketchy than her buying Kelly's for a dollar.

Do you think there was a reason the writing of EJ Dimera on the bag was smudged or was that a prop mistake? Lol can't be too sure with the budget. Also, what kind of matchmaker sets up the same people two days in row by mistake? Do we think this is happening concurrently to the Abe/Lani/Whitley stuff? Or is it a different day? Because Belle, Eric, and Brady don't seem to care Marlena almost died because of a nutty patient and Nicole didn't seem to know Abe was alive.

@titan1978 I agree that internet shouldn't be that way as well. Soaps fan have been delusional for years like that though. Attacking actors in grocery stores, writing letters, calling into the studio. Now it's just easier to access these people and find these writers on the team that wouldn't necessarily be in the spotlight years ago. I am not trying to defend these delusional people at all. I am just saying as a writer on a soap opera she should have been prepared for these sorts of insults. It's not a new behavior. I do think it's part of the job in this day and age. Every soap writer pretty much deals with these tweets now. It doesn't make it right, but it is the reality of it. And she in turn has every right to defend herself. I just don't think it will make a difference and will probably get her more attention and make her more of a target. As far as Liz, I would actually think she would stay out of the Joss stuff not only because she has empathy, but because Cameron is doing really well. I know I would rather have my child on a soccer team at Stanford than hanging around town to date Josslyn Jax.

While I am sure it's disheartening to read those comments and I think soap twitter and some other spaces can be especially vicious, I do think it's just part of the job. I don't even think these comments are that bad. How can you really take to heart a person who can't spell dumb or ridiculous right? Lol. People make horrible yelp reviews for businesses all the time not taking account mitigating circumstances. People complain in restaurants and stores and belittle regular working class joes all the time for much less. People can be as*holes all the time especially behind a keyboard. When you are a highly paid writer putting out a show and product for public consumption the public is going to have an opinion. Every person in the entertainment industry that's mildly successful deals with these trolls. I think it's absolutely silly to go on social media and complain about it. The people directing these comments to this writer aren't going to read her post and realize the error of their ways. Most likely they will double down now. I don't think actors or writers should be bullied and some of those comments are mean. That being said, and I truly might be in the minority with this opinion, if things like this are bad for your mental health then perhaps you should follow your co workers lead and stay off social media.

I really like the idea of Carly running Kelly's. It's the first time in a long time Carly has really done something (vaguely) self-sufficient. And although I don't think Kelly's ever stopped being a 'hot spot' it was nice to hear her talk about plans for it and explain why she doesn't want to take money from Jax, Joss, everyone. Will it last? No, I am sure she will spend 5 mins on this and then go back to meddling with everyone's life as usual, but it's a start. Also, I am sure we will have to hear how brave, strong, and awesome Carly is for awhile. It started to today with Joss. Do Carly or Joss ever have conversations with one another where they don't compliment each other on how great they are lol?

Yeah, John was dead at the time. So I do get that. I just remember John/Sami truly burying the hatchet before J&M's 1999 wedding with several good scenes and it goes from one end to the other. Sami/Stan getting John hooked on drugs being the other end ha ha. I can't remember if the aneurysm story was resolved. I think John just stopped having those rage attacks at some point?

But then she flip flopped again (I can't remember why) and was screaming at John when he had his aneurism. It the same with her rivalry with Belle which never existed until it suddenly did with Ron lol. I think John and Sami are in an okay place, but she was naming her child after him several years ago and I don't think they are back to that place.

I remember people complaining what an obnoxious, cloying child Molly was 10 year ago lol. They weren't wrong. I honestly think Haley could have done just fine with this story, but I can't say I really need another pregnancy story in my life either.

I find personally Sami wavers back and forth depending on the writer at the time. I honestly thought John/Sami were fine years ago, but then something will happen she will hate him again. IMO, under Ron Sami tends to be more at odds with John than not. For me, the obnoxiousness of a show introducing a non twin/look alike character with the same actor is something I hate. I think it really insults the intelligence of the audience and is completely unnecessary. Alex would have to come out the gate amazing and instead he was in a weird 'disguise' and the show made tongue in cheek Ben jokes. There were definitely ways to keep Ben around and cast an Alex that didn't have such a clunky beginning.

If they had to keep RSW I have no idea why they just didn't keep him as Ben. Ciara and Ben could still have their happy ending, but we just see Ben a lot more. VK can film her usual few weeks and Days can just spread out her appearances and say she's off visiting Bo a lot. Sonny and Will did it for months. Maggie is still married to Victor and in stories without Victor being in her scenes. Now, I have no idea where you go with Ben as a character, but it seems a heck of a lot easier than creating an entirely new annoying character for him and just hope the audience likes the character and doesn't think it's extremely jarring. It's been months and pretty much everyone on this board agrees Alex sucks. If I were Days I would just quietly cut my losses and fire RSW or bring Ben back. Obviously we wouldn't see these changes until 2025, but it would be nice to know it was coming.
