I remember really liking that black dress on her in the second picture a lot. The blazer looks nice too. I know the show used to throw Brooklyn/AS in big, boxy jackets after the actress gave birth, but I actually think blazers would work for Maxie and her job.

I agree. Or find an actress that is willing to dress appropriately. Again, I may be totally out of line, but most workplaces have dress codes or uniforms. I don't know why wardrobe can't give KS a few options that are workable and let her pick. Most woman in the world are closer to Maxie's size than Sam's and manage to dress themselves. I get that she's on tv and it's a different set of standards but she is actively making herself look worse. Maxie just needs a break in general. She used to be a fun, quirky character that was enjoyable and now she's a chore to watch.

It's not even like Maxie/KS are super big or that large. She seems normal or on the lower end of plus size. But we are being bamboozled by GH to think it's all fine and good. Nothing wrong with her size but her clothes are an absolute disaster. They wouldn't dress Liz or Sam like this.

You know I am happy KS seems to be in a better place and healthier. I just think at some point you need to stop coddling the actress. It's becoming a liability and I don't think more "stable" actors would be allowed such grace. It's GH's choice and I respect that. I still don't think asking her to wear a flattering blouse instead of a men's flannel is a big ask, but I don't know her trauma or her issues. It's probably a slippery slope and with TC passing I don't want to judge any sort of mental issues. So I'll shut up about it lol.

Lol. They can't afford to buy a wardrobe for their cast, so I'll give them a pass. And no one looks totally out of character usually.

Oh, I am not trying to shoot the messenger here. I appreciate the insight. I hope it didn't come across as hostile. Anyhow, it's just frustrating to me that the show can't have an honest conversation with KS. She's gained weight. We know that, they know that, she knows that. Oh well. People gain weight. Instead of trying to work around it so she looks good the show seems to be ignoring the problem and that makes it more obvious. I don't begrudge KS for not being a size 0 anymore, but I do have issues with her not fully embracing the character of Maxie and just playing herself.

I don't mind the story-it just doesn't make sense. Maxie should have multiple income streams outside of Deception plus she's worked her entire adult life. It reminds me of that story that was dropped years ago where Liz blew all her money on a bad investment lol. An actor/actress shouldn't be holding the show hostage. The show shouldn't be afraid of her reaction over something relatively minor. There are professional ways to frame this sort of discussion with KS without making her feel bad. And, yes, Maxie's hair does look greasy a lot.

Doesn't Spinelli pay her child support? She got nothing from Nathan-the police officer/Liesel's son-dying? Didn't Anna just sublet her place? I am so confused. Also, I am pretty sure Dante would let her slide on rent for a few months if she needed.

Agreed. I have no problem with actor's being comfortable, but it's gotten to the point that her styling is completely out of character. Rena Sofer puts on new fake nails everyday for Lois because it's part of the character. Maxie can put a nice blouse on and fix her hair. And if KS can't do that-there are other actresses that could play Maxie and would do that. It sounds mean, but KS can't coast along forever half assing it.

I am not sure what you are getting at @Donna L. Bridges. KS can wear whatever she pleases when she's not at work, but I don't think it's out of line for GH to dictate a wardrobe to her when she's playing Maxie. It's her job. I get that actors should feel comfortable and have a say, but Cynthia Watros couldn't wear sweats at Nina/Sonny's wedding just because she didn't feel comfortable in a dress that day lol. That would be a story I would like. That would be relatable and normal, but we are just supposed to pretend Maxie is a fashion maven still.

I am not saying everyone on GH looks bad. Most characters look fantastic. It's not Days where people are wearing their own clothes even when it doesn't fit the character or scene. It's just the fact that Joss/Trina wear $300 Mother jeans everyday and no one can go to the mall and grab KS a cute, flattering $30 top from Torrid and force her to wear it. Maxie looks sloppy. It would be one thing if the show weaved it into her story as a frazzled single mom, but nope. She's supposed to be a fashionista. I don't think Laura looks sloppy and her wardrobe generally fits the character and role, but it is unflattering a lot of times.

I was trying to be diplomatic, but agreed. When you put someone like KS onscreen as Maxie you aren't that good at your job. She looks awful and you can site all the people he makes look great, but it's universally tiny women. Brooklyn and post-baby Sasha have also had questionable choices. It's great this guy loves his job and you know him or whatever, but like he can't figure out how to dress anyone over a size 8. Even Laura is giving me 2000's era Riche vibes with her outfits

I mean, Maxie has looked awful for years down to greasy hair. It doesn't matter how many Emmys the costume designer/wardrobe has won. And all the examples you are citing are for women with more "typical" bodies for tv. I actually think it's more of KS choice than wardrobe, but it's also a lot easier to make a thin women look awesome in clothes. Brook Kerr would probably look good in a trash bag. KS is an entirely different body type. It's not that she can't look fierce, it just hasn't happened in years. If it was one or two bad outfits for KS I would just say it was a mistake, but she's probably had 1 or 2 GOOD outfits in the last 5 years.

If Maxie's horrible style was a new thing I would agree. But the days Maxie looks good are much more rare than the days she looks awful.

I wonder why Steve and John didn't go to confront Costantin together. I know, I know. Budget. But I think two men that Maggie has known for years might have made more impact instead of looking like Steve was just throwing out these allegations wildly. Sarah really needs some female friends her own age. I don't mind Kayla as a talk to, but I was thinking Sarah truly has no female friends at all. Maybe she should go hang out with Jada and they can bond over both being pregnant by Eric. I am not going to lie Xander really did deserve that punch. Alex/Theresa were pretty much minding their own business and he just starts going into her in public just because? How rude lol. I love how Chad's FOOLPROOF plan was blown up in about 10 minutes because Everett was smart enough to clarify things and just call Gwen. It's rare for someone in Salem to use their brain and follow the logical path for answers.

I don't think Roman/Kate are poor. Roman spent years on the police force/ISA and I assume the pub makes money even if we don't see any non main character customers. It just feels a little quaint for Kate. This is a life I could see Roman being satisfied with, but not Kate. Last we heard (many, many years ago) Roman still owned Roman/Marlena's old house, so I am not sure why they don't just at least live there off screen.

Recurring or not, it's strange Kate is fine and dandy with living at the Pub and just helping out there. I know when Caroline/Shawn lived there the layout for their quarters was an actual home, but it appears Kate/Roman live in a single room.

Yeah, the narrative we have been hearing about Theresa is that she was a good mom and got her life together. I am not saying she can't be a schemer, but I need a better reason than "I hate Xander". I think Kate actually has been used quite a bit these last few years, but a lot of the time I felt she was weirdly inserted into stories or odd romances. I think Kate has been a lost character for a long time that suffers without her children on the canvas. I am not advocating taking LK off contract or anything, but sometimes I felt the show was using LK/Kate just because she was on contract not because the story dictated it.

Theresa definitely has a reason to hate Xander. And Xander isn't a good guy imo. I just think he's an overall better character than Alex. It's been years since these things happened to her and she moved on with her life...until one day she didn't. There hasn't been any indication she's been longing for Brady or plotting revenge against Xander for all these years until 3 months ago lol I think undoing Susan's death was probably more to prop Ava than Xander so she could be paired with Steve Burton. I don't doubt it was the plan all along since we could never be rid of Susan. This year. The story of Kate, Marlena, and Kayla dying was pretty heavily featured. And then Kate's possible murder at the hands of BrainwashedBo and her disappearance. I am not saying it was a great story, but she was used quite a bit.

I thought sticking to Xander was one of the reasons Theresa agreed. Not the sole reason because that's pretty flimsy. I don't necessarily think there needs to be much rooting value behind Xander to get the Kiriakis fortune. It's his. It's not like anyone likes Alex much anyway and Xander would obviously be very generous with Maggie. He doesn't need Sarah for that. To me, Xander clearly stands on his own as just a better character than Alex, so I think perhaps waiting for the reveal when Xander is confused and devastated and turns to Sarah would feel more organic and thought out.

Today's show was bad. Sarah/Xander are really moving at lightning speed toward a reconciliation. There were months of angst from Sarah about Xander and him raising her child to the point she married someone else. Glad this whole situation was cleared right up after a minor kidnapping and a couple conversations! This Everett/Chad/Stephanie stuff is boring! Why didn't we just continue the story with Alex because it's practically the same thing just with a newspaper instead of Titan. Has anyone even verified Everett's coma story? Chad should just get on that instead of buying expensive newspapers. Aside from the Donovan's money (let's say Theresa is cut off), I am sure Brady paid her quite well in child support since she was raising Tate alone for about 16 years. She had a job as well. Am I really supposed to believe she needs money that badly? Unless she blew through that money, but it's really unclear. She managed to be a "good mom" to Tate as Brady always said so it would be weird for her to suddenly be broke now unless she put it into her failing business in LA? Now that we have EOB for however long it would be nice to have some clarity. It just looks like she's scheming just to scheme right now. I guess we can assume John/Marlena/Maggie are still friendly if John/Steve are flying to Greece during Thanksgiving on their own dime to investigate a 'case' on Costantin that no one is asking them to or paying them for lol.

I know what @Donna L. Bridges is talking about. It actually happens with every peacock show. If you get behind it will jump to the next episode without showing previews or credits. Actually, it's pretty annoying when you watch any Bravo show even when you get to the last episode you can view they cut off the previews and move to another show you might like.

Brady mentioned Marlena having a Thanksgiving later which I guess we can assume Kayla got the invite? I would think Brady, Eric/Sloan, and Belle would have been invited as well as Johnny. I think possibly Roman/Kate as well? Let's assume Maggie had her own on the Kiriakis side and that would include all of that clan, but you would also think Holly would have been included. The Dimera's all had explanations of where they were so the only people whose whereabouts are really unknown are Rafe, Jada, and Wendy/Tripp I think and I don't really care about what they were doing. Idk it was weird the show said Steve/John were on a case when we just would have assumed they were celebrating Thanksgiving off screen. Maybe we will see some other sets of characters tomorrow still celebrating.

It was just not the people I wanted to see today. Definitely not the worst episode, but the groupings didn't make much sense outside Chanel, Paulina, Abe. I see absolutely no reason for Stephanie not to spend Thanksgiving with her own parents. Just to be awkward with Blake Berris? Boring. John/Steve are out of town for a case? Weird. This is the time when you pull those vets out. Holly/Tate/Johnny/Chanel should not be carrying a Thanksgiving episode.

Yeah, I get budget, but it still feels a little lazy. There is no reason for Brady/Tate to be eating in an empty pub with not a single extra. They could have been sitting on Marlena/John's couch and it would have seemed more natural. There are subtle things the show could do to make interactions feel more connected.
