  1. Using that logic does the entire Brady family owe it's existence to Don since Marlena was brought on to be his love interest?
  2. It seems to be a writing choice to make Sloan so inept to make her more of the villian in the story which isn't really necessary. She already stole a baby. The show doesn't need to pile it on that she has no idea how to raise a child. Sloan is a smart woman. I don't think anyone over the age of 12 would just abandon a baby in the middle of a town square to get their wallet and long enough for Nicole to grab the baby and for Leo to steal the stroller without them seeing one another. I think JS has improved leaps and bounds since she began, but today wasn't her best lol.
  3. I actually don't think it's fair to say characters like Bo/Kayla owe their success to Marlena/Deidre. Idk, I just think if a character is written to be related to someone that's not the reason they exist or become popular. For example, I would say Bo owes his existence more to Hope than he does to Marlena.
  4. I know Marlena's parents were on screen at certain times, but they were never developed at all. I was referring more to her side of the family having stories and appearing on screen in a meaningful way and actually living in Salem.
  5. I liked today's episode as well. From spoilers I was thinking Sloan turned her back for a moment. I didn't think she just left a baby outside to go back into an establishment. What the heck? No adult would do that lol. So, ah, what's Nicole's plan? Just raise the baby in the secret room until it turns 18? Runaway? I actually think Tripp lived with Stephanie and Joey in Seattle for awhile so it is strange he never met Everett. Nothing about those scenes screamed close sibling bond and I thought they did have one. Did Jada go to bed and leave Stephanie/Harris alone the other day? I can't remember. It seems like Jada probably should have made Stephanie stay with her. I am sure nothing happened between Harris/Stephanie, but it's weird Harris couldn't have just said "nothing happened-we will talk later" instead of dragging it out for her.
  6. I don't believe John was a mercenary on his own? Honestly it has changed so many times, but I think he was kidnapped by Petrov/Yo Ling to be brainwashed and made a top mercenary, but brainwashed again to be Roman lol. Lots of brainwashing happened to him basically.
  7. I think the easiest time to integrate Marlena's family was in the early 80's, but the main focus was building the Brady's. There was also probably a great window between Roman's death and RoJohn's appearance as well. By the 90's I guess Marlena had enough to deal with in her romantic life and her own Salem family. I don't really don't know why the show wouldn't easily introduce a long lost son/daughter for Samantha and even teenage grandchildren. The same way they introduced Jada and Talia. Their ties to the canvas are much more flimsy.
  8. It's always been strange to me that the show never really did much with Marlena's side of the family. Outside Sam and a cousin no one else from Marlena's family ever really showed up through all the different regimes and writers. And I suspect Sam was only added because of the novelty of Deidre having a real life twin.
  9. And you can prominently see this man in a wig in several shots. Why didn't he switch places with the non-wig wearing lady seated across from him? @j swiftIt's a little confusing whether or not Tate/Holly go to school together. I think they do, but that makes no sense if Tate is planning on going back to boarding school. No one would transfer to a new school mid-semester and then immediately transfer out a month or two later.
  10. I'll bring the booze to the Leo Goodbye Party!🤣 Today's show was pretty good. John and Marlena were sweet, but was Drake actually wearing John's jacket from 1986 today? Xander and John's scenes were a bit off in dialogue. I liked them, but when was John shady or a bad guy? When he was brainwashed? Not the same at all, Xander lol. Damn, did Holly have to pay for her own shrimp cocktail lol? Tate absolutely was right, but did he really think she dropped the Johnny plot in a day because Tate had a gold card? Poor Lani. Couldn't the show say Eli/Lani just couldn't make it instead of keeping her in jail longer? Needless to say Ari and Dan were the highlights today. Did they not name their baby though? Did I miss it?
  11. Great idea too! I always thought it was strange that the show did so little with Sam. Not even bringing her back to life, but she never had any exes or children that popped out of the woodwork like you said. I think for a number of years Andrea Hall probably would have returned for a short arc and instead we got the first Hattie plot that just went nowhere. And then Deidre doing whatever she was doing with Hattie after that.
  12. Both of those ideas would work too. My thinking was instead of making Alex North a psychopath for no reason he could have blamed Marlena for Sam's death and at least had a reason for this crazy elaborate revenge plan. Sam pretending to be Marlena would also be very in character though.
  13. All pretty interesting ideas. If we needed to use Samantha again I would have changed the Alex North plot. North fed Marlena all these ideas about being married when he was actually married to Samantha and bitter and vengeful about her death. That would have easily solved so many issues with that story and not erased all of Marlena's marriages and been much more believable. That also would have solved the issue of Deidre playing dual roles for an extended period and not retconned Sam's death either.
  14. It is Lexi Ainsworth. I always really liked her, but I kept waiting for her to "grow up" and she never looked a day over 18 and she is 31 years old now. Very youthful looking woman. I still think she was very talented and wasted by GH, but I could see how it was uncomfortable to watch especially when she dated the much older Parker-which was a bit icky. Esme and Nikolas were gross, but we were supposed to think that so I guess I am okay with it. I don't know why the show gave her the world's largest baby to carry around though lol. I have never really noticed anything about Trina's scenes.
  15. The only one I even slightly allow is Eddie Maine. Not because I think WK is amazing, but at least there is a historical background on Ned/Eddie that I like. Everything else is silly especially Violet because it seemed like GH was just trying to get an episode to an appropriate length by inserting a cute little girl singing. Her OWN SONG she wrote. At least give her a well known Christmas Carol or something. Violet must be some sort of savant or genius. She writes songs, rehearses said songs with her uncle to put on performances, plans dates, makes necklaces, butts into adults personal lives, and probably rescues abandoned kittens and puppies in her spare time lol. No 8? year old does this. ***everything Hat Daddy is unnecessary so I completely ignore his scenes entirely.
  16. GH and their music...UGH. I just lived through Violet's singing. Sonny also likes to lurk around the Metro Court as well. I'll be honest I think I like Mansi better as Kristina than I did as Abigail. She was by far the best Abigail, but I just think Kristina is a more interesting character in general.
  17. I don't think I would like it with any character on the show to be honest. I could see if Stephanie had enormous wealth or something and 1 of the guys was after that, but all these men seem to just be obsessed with her because she's her. It's weird. I mean, it seems like Chad does like her housekeeping/childcare skills too though. Again, anytime we can sort of see SBu do non-Jason things it's a plus.
  18. I like the idea about WN turning up as Roman and if JT needs a job he could play Chris K. You are solving multiple problems pretty easily. I am not a fan of 1991 Marlena being "faux" Marlena. It erases so much good 90's stuff IMO.
  19. And from spoilers This girl must have something I am not seeing. I didn't think Abigail was all that special either so I might just have poor taste lol.
  20. Really I think most of us would be happy if the show got rid of Leo alone. The Jada and Stephanie scenes were nice. Harris was an odd choice to add to the mix, but it didn't bother me too much. What is the deal with this show and Blake Berris's looks? Even back when he was Nick the show would go out of there way to say he isn't conventionally attractive. And Jada he looks nothing like Jason Biggs! BB isn't really my cup of tea, but he is handsome enough. EOB continues to disappoint as Theresa. What an odd set of scenes between Brady, Theresa, and Tate. How terrible of them to fight like that in front of their son. And Theresa just brushes it off to go have sex with Alex lol. I don't really care too much about this Ava/Stefan stuff. The two work well together I just don't find this story interesting.
  21. That would have been fabulous. Wayne shows up not too long after anyhow as Alex North so I assume he was available. Why have I never thought of this idea before?
  22. True. Stephanie's entire story is juggling these men. She doesn't have friends, she doesn't have interesting conflicts with her family or anyone else. She's basically just 3 men's prize to win. Stephanie needs more an edge or something. Or one or two of these men need to drop out.
  23. I don't dislike Stephanie or anything, but I just don't find her compelling enough to have three men chasing her. She's nice and pretty, but I don't find her to have any distinct personality traits. Someone like Jada is much more interesting and gets half the screen time.
