That goofy karate stuff Drake does never fails to crack me up. Obviously it looks even more ridiculous than it did 30 years ago because he's 70 now lol. I love Marlena is slightly concerned, but is like this has happened so many times before it's almost normal 😂 I think EOB is slowly finding her groove as Theresa. It's not the same as JL, but I think she's doing better. I just hope part of her new sobriety journey is to get a new look and darken her hair. I still find the wig so distracting lol. I am surprised Alex is so confident in sticking by Theresa. I feel like they barely know one another and this romance progressed so quickly.

Marlena didn't really have her own story in the beginning of 1992. She could have been doing tv movies or side projects, but she was a bit on the backburner. She was mad at Roman for going undercover and that Mrs. Doubtfire rip off, she supported and helped in the Danielle Romulus story, was supporting in Isabella's illness, Carrie's return etc. The Lombard story does start pretty early on in 1992 when they sue the hospital and she's involved in that from the beginning, but not in a huge capacity. Marlena is definitely around and appears, she is just more supporting in the stories the show was focusing on at the time. By summer Marlena's story with Roger is heating up and she's in the Pit by Nov 92, maybe October?

There's plenty of posts on this thread even about CC and DH having issues. To the point, I believe soap press asked both of them about it. It had something to do with Deidre being jealous/mean/upset about Crystal's airtime and Carly's prominence on the show at the time. Ex- DAYS Star Deidre Hall Puts Rumors of Crystal Chappell Feud to Rest - Daytime Confidential This is the gist of it. Obviously they both basically denied it.

When you think about it it's such a complicated and convoluted plan. Ryan was hoping his 16 or 17 year old daughter- 1. Could catch Spencer's eye and hit it off with him 2. Get serious enough to commit to her and take her back to Port Charles 3. Then get close enough to Nik to have him sleep with 4. Get pregnant. I supposed she succeeded but a master mind like Ryan could have figured out an easier plan to just get Ava back lol

IMO, it was a decent story in theory. I just found it boring after the initial returns. The momentum was just lost. The stuff in Mexico was both drawn out and overexplained and then they all went home and it was all tied up in a bow and everyone was happy (well, except John I guess lol). I can see wanting to move on, but I don't have too many nice things to say about the next stories (Romulus, Roman undercover). I think I remember hearing Wayne and Deidre only signed on for 6 months or something initially, so maybe they were trying to wrap it up in case one or both left.

I get what you are saying because I didn't really have a connection to Bobbie being a big part of Kelly's. Ruby had a much stronger presence there and while Bobbie may have currently owned it I don't really associate her with it. That being said, I am fine with it and thinks it's a nice gesture. It just doesn't make the most sense.

That's why I wonder if the story with Andrea didn't go anywhere. Hattie was having all this surgery to look just like Marlena and what happens when these surgeries are complete? Lol. Andrea wasn't going to look the same age or body shape without undergoing a major transformation herself and that was probably something she didn't want to do. I really don't mean it in an insulting way-it just is what it is. In my mind it made sense for DH to play Hattie when she returned even if I think Hattie is completely useless. I really just think Langan or whoever thought it was a clever idea at the time, but didn't think the endgame through. Like I said, I always thought Don was an idiot back in the day because the two women, while twins, were fairly easy to tell apart.

No Not really it seemed like it may have been gearing up to her possibly being Sam or just a random psycho, but it was entirely dropped. I don't think it helped that Andrea looked visibly older than Deidre because of work and stuff (no disrespect to Andrea who seems to have aged very naturally). I didn't think they looked that much alike in the 70's. They are mirror twins, but I also don't think anyone in town would have been fooled by Hattie. Their voices are even very different. I think it was just a gimmick.

I guess we are back in the Carly wins everything era lol. I was really worried about her for those 9 months where she almost lost her mansion and was down on her luck 😂

I liked Carly running Kelly's/Bobbie's. I didn't even mind her stint at the MetroCourt because you could assume Jax was doing the work and he taught her enough to be competent. Running a magazine in 2024? Like it's easy with a half a nursing degree? Lol. She doesn't even have Maxie or Lulu there to run it by default.

I am not going to lie, I am shocked she has such a dedicated following. Joss barely did anything at Bobbie's funeral anyway. Wasn't she basically just in the background?

So if Eden McCoy was just sick or injured and unable to work then it would have been okay to pester her? Lol. I feel like I have spent way too many posts talking about Joss and Eden McCoy today. Did Sonny do anything stupid today? 😂🤷‍♀️

I am not surprised they broke up either, especially with WL leaving. I don't even have that much of a problem with her cheating. It happens. Joss is young. It was just they way I perceived it was Cameron was the problem. And stifling Joss's awesomeness or something. LW does just have the best hair. I could watch it swish back and forth all day lol And it's such a small portion of fans who would attack a girl on her twitter because that's weird and no one will remember who won the Young Actor Daytime Emmy in 2023 in 2 years lol

My thing with Joss is she said she felt bad, but it wasn't shown. She was still written as in the right like the passion between her and Dex was too crazy to control. Just take about half an hour to break up your boyfriend. I don't fault Joss for falling out of love with Cameron. I fault her and her family/friends supporting it like it wasn't a bad thing to do. It's not an unforgivable sin, but the writing was so slanted to make Cameron seem like he was wrong for being a good boyfriend and boring? The problem is the show trying to make Joss this awesome human being with no faults and so helpful when she's just a regular girl with flaws.

Yeah. Roman and Marlena make sense at the time. And a lot of these issue pop up later and that's the beauty of soaps and years long storytelling. We just didn't get much trauma from two people who were kidnapped for years at all in the moment. Marlena just gave up on even trying to find out what happened to her for 5 years lol. John's story is better told IMO. Anyway, most of these things are answered much later on, but it was an immediate slide into Roman and Marlena's domestic bliss......until it wasn't a few years later. There were just so many options and places you could go with Roman/Marlena's returns and it ended up just a bit blah.

I wonder if it's more of a space and time issue than a money one. Because you can find a nice antique table at Goodwill for cheap and it would probably look good on camera.

Kayla and Marlena are both Drs and can afford a kitchen table that's not from Target. I am pretty sure John is still a millionaire. I don't have high hopes for the income Black Patch brings in, but all these people are established to be successful. I can understand a single person not prioritizing a table, but both these couples have their grown ass children living with them too😂 Even Sloane appeared to have rented a table for her disastrous dinner party.

Yeah, you definitely get what I am saying. We trekked through Mexican ruins for what felt like months (I know it's not, but it moved a bit slow) and it all ended without much drama or conflict. Putting Roman and Marlena back together was never an issue with me. I don't know how you could avoid that. It was just the aftermath of them getting back together after 7 years didn't play out at all. And I swear, Roman goes undercover very soon after this and stories just move on. I can get John moving on and stepping back because he's committed to a pregnant Isabella and wants to know who he is. Outside of a handful of scenes that show some awkwardness. John, Roman, Isabella and Marlena just become good friends. It just wasn't a very satisfying conclusion to a story that started out so well and if I was watching live back then I would have been disappointed.

Yeah, maybe not. Andrea didn't play the role long though. I do think the Hattie original story was going somewhere and it got scrapped or changed. As Ron has written the clones back into the universe it would just make more sense for Hattie to a clone and not just a lookalike. Well, as much sense that you could make with clones being in a story lol.

Okay. So 1/30/92 is about a month out from where you are. That could explain the pace and things wrapping up. Even if Marlena played it more as her own guilt for choosing Roman or Sami/Eric have a difficult time bonding with Roman. It just felt so easily solved in the moment. And like I said it's been a few years since I watched. I just remember being very disappointed overall. I find most of 1992 to be a snooze to be honest though. It's sort of a lull in the show until it moves into high gear in 1993.

Charlotte is definitely better than Violet, but I also find Violet to be the most obnoxious child on the planet so it's faint praise. If only Aiden or Jake got the airtime those two do.

Yes! That's what I was talking about John/Marlena go from conflicted....to not at all and I don't even think it was more than a few episodes. Even little Sami/Eric just take to Roman immediately. I don't know if there were backstage things going on, but the writers were just quickly wrapping it up. And I know some people think it was to gear up for the eventual affair. I don't really get that sense. I don't think it was some long term plan. I know Roman leaves to go on assignment pretty soon and I think it's when PR's Bo leaves and RKK's Bo appears, so maybe the show needed to move things along. But even John moves on to the Romulus/Danielle story and the characters of John/Marlena/Roman don't really intersect that much.
