I do get that sense. It was a story they wanted to tell but didn't get the chance. Which, again, doesn't negate the story currently playing. It's just a lot of backtracking on what we previously knew about their relationship. I assume you are talking about Theo/JJ, not Belle's asthma lol.

I remember Belle being allergic to Penicillin, but I don't think it's been brought up since child Belle ate the chocolates from Kristen. The asthma thing is odd. Idk, Theo and JJ were more than just casual friends. They were roommates, business partners, and best friends. I am not saying Theo isn't right to have these feelings or the scenes are bad, it does feel like it came out of nowhere to me. Everyone's milage may vary on that though.

I still don't get Belle's never before known asthma and the fact she slept with EJ, but the cologne prompts multiple asthma attacks now? Weird. A panic attack would have done the same job and wouldn't have been so out of the blue. I agree Theo's PTSD is coming out of nowhere. I don't doubt he has it, but it seems odd that he and JJ ran a company together, were very close, and lived in South Africa together for years and this discussion never came up. I am no expert on PTSD though, so what do I know? I am probably in the minority, but I find Xander and Sarah's make up and break ups tedious. It reminds me a lot of Eric and Nicole where the couple keeps getting back together, but nothing has actually changed about either person and they make the same mistakes over and over again.

Yes, I basically think I am nitpicking minor things, but it felt like it escalated so quickly. Tracy even knew this woman existed. I guess I have to see how the Ronnie character plays out. I don't have any great investment in Slezak or Victoria Lord like most and it felt to me like the scenes were just written as Emmy bait. Good actors, but not the best motivation for that type of argument.

GH: September 2025 Discussion Thread
I agree the argument felt a little too intense from the jump. I get Tracy's protectiveness, but it didn't seem like Ronnie was doing anything wrong in the moment.

Has Belle always had asthma? This is the first I've heard of it. Why is Susan even still in town? I think we all know why no child showed up to Rachel's birthday party now lol. Cat's backstory is terribly confusing. She traveled, backpacked around Europe, studied Russian cultural, worked for the ISA and then got into the accident with her parents? Then had years of plastic surgery and hooked up with Clyde for the Abby scheme? I was under the impression was in the accident as a teen, but it appears she would have been mid 20's.

It played awful back then. It felt oddly personal for Ron to attack SK like that. I have no idea why Ron hated AJ/SK since he was doing good work. I full enjoyed his return.
-
GH: September 2025 Discussion Thread
Yeah, they'd have AJ himself and other characters comment about AJ's build during SK's 2nd return. It was "joking" but it was mean spirited.
-
GH: September 2025 Discussion Thread
BW's AJ gets increasingly bad writing under Guza where he's always being played a fool or looking like a loser. Even when SK returned and Ron openly made fat jokes about AJ, SK still had some confidence and swagger. Although I wouldn't blame SK for never returning.

GH: September 2025 Discussion Thread
No. Jason (and Robin) were both aware Michael was AJ's. Jason/Carly let everyone else think Jason was the father. Robin ended up telling AJ later on and that ended Jason/Robin. I vastly prefer SK's AJ. BW is capable, but he was miscast, IMO.

No. Whoever said that is either trying to make more of their relationship or is mistaken lol. I remember Monica being quite thrilled when Jason and Brenda got "married" in 2002, so that may have created the impression they were closer than they were. Can you even think of a memorable Monica/Brenda scene? I am sure they had one on one scenes at some point, but I can only recall them interacting in group settings or in the Q living room with others around.

GH: September 2025 Discussion Thread
You could even do it without either Sean Kanan or Amber. You could just show a character leaving flowers for Monica and heavily imply it's one of the two that are alive. Obviously, the brief glimpse of Sean would be the most dramatic. I don't feel the need for everyone that once broke bread and had some chats with Monica in 2002 to come back because they are popular characters. The fact is most of the people closest to Monica are dead whether on screen or in real life. We also don't need a bunch of kid actors at a funeral. I see the idea, but it's uncomfortable to film and it's not like these kids are great actors and would bring something to the table.

Robin and Skye I suppose I get. But Brenda? She wasn't even close to Monica. Sonny "died" before Nixon Falls, Jason 'died', Lila died, Edward died, even Robin briefly died and she didn't come back. I don't recall Monica/Brenda or Monica/Skye being close ever. Monica disliked Skye and Brenda was always a Lila/Edward project more than an Alan/Monica thing. Frisco didn't make it to his own daughter's funeral. It would be much more poignant for a non-dead AJ or Emily (AT's version) popping up mysteriously at her funeral promising more story than a bunch of popular characters coming back to wax poetically about Monica. And I obviously say this as someone who would die and gush over Brenda or Robin returning.

I am still for the Jax recast idea. It would give several characters more to do including Carly/Nina and even Sonny. But at this point I'd be fine if they just recast Miguel Morez and made him the 2nd love of Lois's life or something. I know. That's too far.😂

GH: September 2025 Discussion Thread
I would have added someone for her almost immediately. There isn't really anyone suitable on canvas. It would make a lot more sense if Lois came back to PC to see Brook Lynn and Ned/Eddie if her life had recently fallen apart and she was running from something. She came back and her life appeared to be successful and she decided to stay for months and left everything behind for no reason.

I don't think there was a Tracy/Lois scene post-Gio reveal. Someone correct me if I am wrong though. Lois booked it out of town pretty shortly after. Obviously, we saw Tracy/Lois this week, but it wasn't the time or place. I honestly think Ned should be the one to call Lois out on that behavior. Ned should have a lot more to say given everything that happened in the 90's. Jane Elliot is practically carrying this show on her back these days. GH can throw Wally a bone and give him half an episode to talk about it. I do agree with your main point that Lois feels more stunted than she should. GH does this with most returns for characters that are gone for extended periods. Should I really believe Lucky never spoke to his son for years to do whatever he was doing? Brenda, a successful supermodel, was pining after Sonny for 15 years? Or Lois's only concern was hiding Gio from the rest of the family? Her accent bothers her now? GH consistently misses easy beats to play when it comes to bringing back characters.

Outside of the Gio mess, it feels like Lois's life was paused. Lois is more mature, but she's never really stated what she was doing all these years. I know managing bands, but even that's on pause. She didn't find new love (won't talk about Lesli Kay's run and Alcazar), have more children, travel, Idk, do anything but hide Gio with her mom and cousin? There are all these untapped years that Lois could have been doing anything and it's a shame it's unexplored.

Jason always felt like the stable one to me. It stifled him though because he couldn't play anything but the solid, consistent guy cleaning up messes. Jason still had a lot of vulnerability when he was paired with Robin and to lesser extents Liz. He and Sam were hit or miss. I agree he's done a good job this week as well. There is something about Lois that almost makes me feel she's very moment in time and 90's. I adore Lois and Rena, but the show seems to have some trouble capturing a modern day Lois and using her properly.

I think LLC's Olivia has more grounded purpose than all those characters. She's Rocco and Gio's grandmother, Leo's mother, Ned's wife, BLQ's stepmother, and a defacto head of the Q's. The show just doesn't use her in that capacity. She's almost always giving advice while serving food. I would agree Rory got some advantages right out of the gate. It was clear Duell was bored with his material, but Rory got a different take on Michael. I think the change was needed both in casting and writing. Chad's Michael was often written as more of a sad sack and Rory's Michael takes charge. That being said, I really liked a lot of CD's early work as teenage Michael.

The show could use WK and LLC a lot better. I thought Rena sort of pushed LLC out because she's Lois lite, but they rarely use Rena as well. I actually think Olivia is just a mixture of Lois, Kate, and Brenda combined in a haphazard fashion-and that is not LLC's fault.

They do. But if I just turned on the show at this moment I would not believe they were mother and son. Of course no one has randomly turned on GH on purpose in 20 years lol.

I mean I have learned to accept it too, but she legit looks younger than him but DZ does have a nice silver fox thing going.

I wish LLC didn't look like a viable love interest for DZ/Dante rather than his mom because they work well together.

Again, I think Steve is really good when it comes to emotional drama as odd as that sounds. Especially when he personally cares, which he obviously does with Leslie Charleson. Something about him being Stone Cold and breaking at the right emotional moments really makes it more real.
