Exactly. JMW has been given such repetitive matronly material the past few years... it's laughable. Nobody who has watched the show for longer than 5-6 years believes that Steffy could naturally grow to be this geriatric, uptight... conservative biddy. She used to be THE Brooke-wannabe. The new generation vixen. The one who sleeps with the wrong men... walks around in bra and panties in the Forrester building, looking from the corner for any of Hope's boyfriends. I specifically remember how she preyed on the fact that Hope is a virgin and was using that to OFFER her own body for sex. It was disgusting. She was not a girl's girl. She was the ultimate soap opera man-stealing ho. Only rivaled by Brooke, of course. And now... what do we have - this 24/7 angry face who talks nothing but negative stuff about people and is paranoid about everyone in her life. I don't know how Finn has not cheated on her. Every day it's another person who he cannot talk to or engage with. I preferred the old Steffy... she seemed more real than this one right now. Don't get me wrong... this doesn't make JMW's efforts any less meaningful. She, just like KKL, makes the best out of the bad material she's given. I can easily differentiate between a character and an actress and I would never bash JMW just so I can put a blame on her for something out of her reach or power. Quite frankly, I didn't like her acting style years ago, and I didn't even get her Emmys, but she has grown on me. To a point that now I can't imagine Bold without her. I would miss her dearly if she departed from the show. Of course... if I have to choose between JMW or KKL in terms of which departure will affect the show the most... I would always choose to keep KKL. She is the last remaining thing that is left from the OG Bold and Beautiful DNA. She's given almost 40 years of her life to this show and I love her for it. You say the name Brooke Logan anywhere in Europe... and people's heads turn. She is a household name. Never forget that. P.S KKL has not "pushed" for the triangle. She recently said something like "Not this again!" when they asked for her reaction... which was very telling. Then she said something more politically correct... that maybe there was a reason it was going for so long (the tired triangle). Here... she was completely wrong, but she was trying to sound more positive and not bash Bradley. I get where she was coming from. They are asking her these questions and she doesn't want to sound too critical. STILL, she did have that reaction of "Not this again!" and it was telling. And she has... through the years... expressed in plenty interviews that she wants Brooke to be on her own without a man. I don't know what people expect from her so that it "appears" to them that she "advocates" for her character. Do they want KKL to have a public spat with Bradley Bell and tell him to his face that she is not pleased... or do they want her to say passive aggressive things... We can't expect KKL to jeopardize her income and profession so that fans can feel like she represents their wishes. SHE IS AN ACTRESS. Not a producer, not a writer. I'm an actor myself. I would scream if anyone expect of me to correct the writing in anything I'm a part of.

Except that I'm not saying there needs to be drama for "an actor to leave a soap". This sounds like I was making an empty statement and generalizations. I'm saying that I KNOW there was drama for this particular person. Please don't put words in my mouth. The way they killed her off was absolutely hardcore after investing an entire year to get her back from the dead. And I'm basing what I said on what I know of Bradley Bell behind the scenes, and what fans have told me through the years. I've heard bits and pieces about this "drama" for years and now seeing how they killed her off... it really confirmed it for me. You don't eliminate a character who you bring back from the dead and make leading for an entire year... In the span of 3 episodes... Just because people come and go.

God Macy's end was so pathetic. They must have had a horrible fight behind the scenes for them to write her off like this. I forgot how sudden and absurd it was... like a bad telenovela. 2003 continues to make us suffer. But me and the husband are fighting to finish it. The writing is so bad, at times even worse than today.

We should have gotten the hot Brollis affair (Brooke and Hollis) but Bradley couldn't take so much heat... and killed him off.

I don't want him back full time. I'm sick of Psycho Thomas. I would prefer they recast the role and get back to a more normal-mentally stable Thomas. This one is just... done for me.

I'm going to say this again, even though I feel like I'm beating a dead horse. We have no way of knowing what KKL/Brooke advocates or not for her character. We can't expect her to bash her boss in public too. Sorry, but we just can't. We don't know what she says or does behind the scenes. One thing we know... is that she hasn't said 1 negative word about anyone in the show for so many years... and yet people find reasons to bash her and make-up stories how she is to blame for this or that. And I think that says more about the people doing that and not about her. KKL is incredibly popular overseas, she is the face of international brands and gets invitations to visit European capitals, film festivals and events every single month. She is basically a Goddess in Italy, trust me I know, since I have Italian friends. At this point I'm grateful that she is going to continue being with us. She doesn't owe us that either, she could easily retire and live off her iconic status in Europe. But she doesn't, she still goes to work and does the best she can with what she's given. Give the woman a break.

I've been saying this from day 1 of finding about repeats (from this board and Errol) is that they NEED to give people heads up about this.

Any Taylor return past her 2002 death and burial... didn't work IMO. I love Hunter Tylo, but at some point the character was better off dead. We even saw her as a ghost several times. It was ghoulish and bizarre and the fact that Bradley decided to completely ruin her and make her a shell of her former self didn't help. Taylor became even more chaotic and messy than Brooke at some point... She was a counter-point to Brooke and should have stayed like this. We didn't need to see her drunk-drive-killing Darla and then getting it on with her daughter's boyfriend Rick. It was too Brooke-esque. Didn't work. There was deterioration in the acting department too. Hunter Tylo's face was too frozen for her to emote, so she would constantly scream, raise her voice or shake her head like a maniac, which didn't suit the previously elegant and more... nuanced Taylor. She became a cartoon. After that with the new actresses, as much as I adore Krista Allen... Bradley still gave rinse and repeat of old stuff from the Hunter days... and now Rebecca is getting the same storyline too. Beat by beat. 1 - Brooke does something to disappoint Ridge. 2 - He leaves her. 3 - He gets engaged to Taylor. 4 - Last minute realizes he can't live without Brooke. We've seen this played out more times than I can count. It's the most dead storyline in the show.

Another masterpiece that comes to mind. The "Mansion of the Damned" - Nola Madison Reign of Terror - storyline on Edge of night. PURE PERFECTION. This is what really hooked me into binging classic soaps on youtube. The Edge of Night, Episode # 6145 - November 29, 1979.mp4

IMO this absurd animosity between Thomas and Brooke... is a facade that hides extreme sexual tension. If we go back in time... Thomas used to stalk Brooke and kiss her while she was asleep. He was such a hardcore perv and Thank God they didn't go there back in the day. But there is no way we can ignore the years where Thomas was obsessed with her. Now he hates her... hate and obsession are most always the same thing.
