I wonder what Omar's constituents think of her Twitter posts. Eventually, they will be the ones to decide whether she gets bounced or gets reelected. I'm often confounded by some of the congress people who get reelected term after term by their constituents but as they say, politics is local. This is currently trending on social media.

Today felt like a very depressing day for me. I really hope tomorrow will feel different. I know but it was a good reminder for me to give my post a once-over just to make sure my words said what I meant them to say.

Did y'all know that someone is livestreaming Y&R episodes on YT? I just happened to be viewing a classic episode of GL when I saw it on the sidepanel. There's an open chat and everything! Actually, I think it would be fun if even some of the cancelled soaps would do a livestream where people could chat while watching episodes together, maybe sometime on the weekends. I'd love it if one of the YT channels that has ATWT episodes would do a livestream of some of their episodes!

I remember this promo for Guiding Light but did the other CBS soaps have their own versions?

I hope I didn't come off as bearing down on you, Khan. From what I've experienced from working for groups like The United Way and The Urban League, working class and middle class people are more generous with what they have than the wealthy, who used to give because they knew they'd get it back as a tax write-off anyway. IMO, I think that public policy is the only way the U.S. can help people achieve something like a living wage (which only a few states now have), which would provide a living standard with basic dignity. Maybe if we had a living minimum wage, there would be a wider tax base and funding things like Special Needs wouldn't be considered a wish-list item. (Maybe I'm a bit sensitive to this-- I just read a 'feel good' story about some people who crowdfunded for a woman who works full time, yet is homeless. Maybe it's me but someone who works shouldn't have to resort to sleeping outside. She should be paid enough to have a roof over her head and live with a measure of dignity).

If we're relying on charity minded rich people to help, we're really up sh it creek. There should be a baseline of humanity, yes, even in the government that money is set aside for people with special needs, whether it be physical or developmental. If we accept that Reagonimic premise that government can't solve anything, we might as well get to crowdfunding public schools, trash collection and the fire department right now. But I'm sure there is readily available money set aside in the Trump administration for arming teachers with M-16s in the classroom.

Although I thought her radio show polluted the airwaves and I probably never got through an entire episode of her TV show, still, I don't wish her any ill will and I hope she makes it through.

Maddie Corman is clearly a gifted actress but this subject matter is tough to digest and I'm not sure that even she can pull this off, especially given the fact that she has elected to stay with her husband and, as the review states, she hasn't dramatized any of the reasons that led to her decision to remain with him. As someone who once tried to help someone write a One Man Show that was going nowhere, I recognize that some projects, one really doesn't know what to do with. I don't know if anyone read the article that I posted last year about some business/financial issues that Michael Avenatti had concerning a coffeehouse franchise that he had bought and a former business associate that had taken legal action against Avenatti but for me, that case was a big red flag. For that reason alone, I did not want him to even consider a run for public office, although I accepted his status as an antagonist to Trump, although all that time antagonizing Trump seems to have been ill spent and, in the end, has provided an opportunity for Trump and his spawn to mock Avenatti.

Yeah but those threats extend to offline as well. Whether they are online or not, some have still gotten doxxed and a few have even moved because it got so bad.

These parents get harassed all day everyday at some point.

I finished the third season of ODAAT on Netflix and is it just me, or does it seem like the show backloads its strongest episodes toward the middle to end of the season? A nice, subtle nod to Aretha Franklin in the Ghosts episode. ODAAT just gives you that classic sitcom feel that you just don't get anymore.

Okay, this may be one of the first appearances by Rosa and she starts calling Meg a cheap tramp in Spanish from her earliest appearances on the show. @amybrickwallaceAt around minute 37:26 is Meg's fantasy, where even then, she's still being called a cheap tramp in Spanish by Rosa!

I'm actually not so sure I'd choose Apple. It's not as if Apple can't make up for lost time, they've done it before with iTunes but the marketplace moves even faster since those days. We don't know what the streaming landscape will morph into, perhaps there will be a saturation point and maybe it's closer than we think. More networks are launching their own streaming services with ad-supported programming and this may grow in popularity and coincide with people getting fed up with the mushrooming of paid services. It may just spread the market share, where no one company has any big slice of the streaming consumer market. It will be interesting to see.

By the way, Steven Spielberg was onstage at the AppleTV event so that might put his anti-Netflix rhetoric into a bit of context, LOL. We used to think of Steven Spielberg as a forerunner and an innovator, in many regards but he's totally following the reboot/revival trend with Amazing Stories.

With the advent of Apple's streaming service, I wonder how/if this will affect Netflix and other streaming services like Amazon and Hulu?

Unfortunately, I don't remember. From what I've seen on YouTube, Rosa was still appearing in 1989 (and possibly 1990) when Bianca was living with Lucinda but there are so many episodes missing from YouTube that it often becomes inevitable that any character that is not a central character can fall through the cracks.

This is great! The only thing is that Rosa Flores didn't appear until 1986, not 1985. I'm going to see if I can find those additional scenes that I mentioned because they're pretty funny.
