Just finished reading this very interesting Op-Ed piece.

This seems important. Dude fell off my radar ages ago, so it really hadn't occurred to me to think about when was the last time I heard anything from him. I guess there are still fools out there willing to believe in his grift.

Continuing a pattern started by this wretched administration in 2017 that begun with those tax breaks that went to the wealthiest persons and corporations, the organizations that appear to be in the least amount of need get the lion-share of the money from the government. "Hospitals that serve a greater proportion of wealthier, privately insured patients got twice as much relief as those focused on low-income patients with Medicaid or no coverage at all."

The WHO announced that it is suspending clinical trials of hydroxychloroquine. Trump claims he is no longer taking the drug. Incidentally, if anyone actually believes that Trump was taking hydroxychloroquine, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell ya!

Someone joked that in Staten Island, that's called being nice, lol. Seriously though, people forget that S.I. is a part of NYC and given the enormous losses that NYC suffered, it is likely that most of the people in that supermarket probably knows someone who got sick or died from COVID-19. Emotions are likely running quite high.

Out of all the soaps that were around in the second Golden Age, Capitol seemed like it was the soap that would have been the most relevant today (provided they had the benefit of a strong "with it" writing staff) but I get the feeling as though Capitol didn't have the support from they needed from network in order to remain on-air.

This seemed to happen consistently until at least the mid 90s, I think. GL played Janet Jackson's "Diamonds" on more than one occasion. Recently I watched an episode where it was played in a scene at Company where Roxie was working. I also remember hearing Bruce Springsteen in a sultry scene between Reva and Josh, but who can forget Wrecks-n-Effect's "Rumpshaker" leading off a scene that took place in Bridget's bedroom? And as controlling as Prince was said to be over his music, he and/or his record company did give As The World Turns permission to use "Let's Go Crazy" from the Purple Rain album/soundtrack in at least one of that show's scenes.

To those who may not be aware S.I. is a cop-friendly, GOP stronghold and has been for decades.

^^ This is the type of messaging Joe Biden should be focused on, not glib statements and/or stupid flat jokes on radio shows or lying about endorsements from the NAACP. Stick to the facts, please.

I wished ATWT would have stayed closer to its homespun roots instead of trying to go all Glam. The soaps all insisted on going 'Big 80s' and I think it was a big mistake for the budgets down the road. Sure, it added glamor and seemed to be in keeping with the times back then but when you really think about it, it turned out to be completely unsustainable and gave the impression that the sets had to get even more grandiose over time in order to keep up, when it reality, a good clean refurbished set might have been as good or better. I am currently watching a few episodes from 1994 and the sets are big and grandiose but they did not age well. Fashions looks awful and garish. Then again, the clothes are boxy and terrible too.

Within the first two minutes I realize that I've seen this episode somewhere, can't remember where though. This is the opening of the La Placa, Kim and Nick's place, right? Someone posted this last summer, I think.

The trending topic will likely fade out by day's end. Still, Biden better choose wisely when it comes to a running mate, preferably someone who is young sharp and has the gift of oratory because Joe is seriously lacking in those areas and the challenges are only going to increase from here.

Retro-fitting and regulating the systems so that these hospitals can get back to providing health services to as many non-Covid patients as they did before while making contingencies for the new reality seems so daunting! In some senses, I think most hospitals and clinics will need a complete overhaul of their pre-pandemic systems as some had gaping holes in the level of care to begin with.
