It sounds vaguely familiar that alcohol may have been involved in some of those DV incidents but I am not entirely sure, as I try to minimize how much news about his dreck that I consume. I wish he'd just go invest in some therapy and leave the rest of the population alone.

Also, he's a domestic abuser, so I don't expect anything from him other than wretched behavior. I just wish he'd stay out of sight.

We've all discussed her first marriage to Weber. Check the old posts. Also there was a whole entire thread about soap stars who were married to other soap stars on their respective soaps and ATWT actors featured heavily, including Finn. Old news. They're not related but whoa, the coincidence of having two left-leaning Southern families named Carter! That's one mighty coincidence. Somebody might want to consult Skip Gates!

While nowhere near as bad as Schroeder, he has shown some off-putting behavior. The most recent that comes to mind is the sh*tty way that he treated Janet Hubert on the reunion show when both Hubert and Will Smith, as well as the rest of the cast tried their best to extend the olive branch. I was looking to hear that maybe the piece was edited somehow but there was no explanation from him. It just made him look like a jerk. Maybe both Schroeder and Ribeiro have Napoleon complexes or something, IDK.

Besides the fact that both Schroeder and Ribeiro insist on ruining my childhood memories of Silver Spoons, I think that something is really wrong with Schroeder. I mean, really wrong.

I have never heard anything about them dating. In fact, I had heard that she was daring a doctor before all the problems began for her. I know she has been divorced for a few years and has two grown daughters, who hopefully she has reconnected with by now. I hope she is doing well and getting her life sorted for the better. The Vegas incident did indeed make news on we discussed it on this board. I know that Swan and Reed dates and Reed seems pretty liberal, bordering on downright progressive, but they dates a long time ago, so it is possible that one or both of them have since changed in their political views. I cannot even imagine Finn, of the Carter family, cousin to Jimmy Carter being romantically involved with anyone with Swan's current political views. Swan has some pretty bad stuff on his IG (I recently checked) and if you see Finn's Twitter, she is without doubt a Democrat, in the tradition of the Carter family. I'm sorry but I am going to need some solid proof that they were actually together as a couple, lol. I mean it.

Taiwan, New Zealand, Vietnam and other Asian/Asian-Pacific Island nations have been among the most proactive in this. Probably due to their experiences with the SARS epidemic in the early aughts.

Pliskova is getting her a$s beat, so far. Swiatek is making her look lethargic.

Only a few years ago did this discussion begin to include male players. In the past, it had mainly been about the women.

I haven't yet seen Sonego in a match (that I can remember) but I have seen tweets claiming that his grunts are more akin to a hindrance.

Swiatek has been better than either Sakkari or Sabalenka on clay though. She's the current RG. As much as I like Coco, her second serve and tendency to overshoot was going to let her down against Swiatek. If anything, at 19, Iga was even more energized from an earlier win. It is always a double-edged sword for Coco to have gotten that Haley retirement, she may have been under-prepared to play a RG champion, whereas, had she beaten Simona, she might have looked at Swiatek in a totally different light.

How is it unlucky for Swiatek to face Coco?

I have no idea. Reed and Swan both discussed their relationship in a reunion Livestream last year. AFAIK this was the sole aspect on ATWT. I can't speak to any other show he appeared on. Tbh, when the show was in the doldrums in the final decade, I wouldn't have minded them bringing back Shannon, and even when Duncan had been brought back for adult Bonnie-- and given them a sub-story as endgame. The fans wouldn't have minded, considering there was so little else going on.

I didn't think that Beau and Nella slept together, although I thought that Nella was fixated on Beau and Beau let her be (which led her on, tbh) because she inflated his bruised ego, from the time when he temporarily lost his voice. I don't think Mrs. Franklin was a nurse. I think she took a job at the hospital (I'm not even sure it was a paid position, but she wanted to have some sort of work outside the house). The way Nella and Beau departed the canvas was weird, with them being too close friends but not lovers. Also, it still seems like what's on YouTube is incomplete. I do think that Kasi Lemmons' (and even Victoria Rowell's versión) Nella got screwed up by the Writer's Strike as clearly they didn't know what to do with Nella, and could only write Roy as the angry Black guy jealous of Duncan. To be honest, I preferred Tiffani Caesar's portrayal of the character.- The Talk: Discussion Thread
It was a whole mess. Performers were caught in the middle- loyal to Cornelius for giving them a platform on television, which very few black artists, particularly soul artists had, but also afraid to turn down Clark for fear they might not get a chance to play to a "mainstream" audience on American Bandstand. Cornelius actually asked Jesse Jackson for help, because with Clark's connections, he feared Soul Unlimited would poach artists and ratings from Soul Train. Despite its name, Soul Unlimited only aired twice a month, I think (that's less than Winter's Wednesdays!). I don't remember what happened exactly, but Soul Unlimited indeed had a limit, as the show was eventually pulled off the air.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Nella was a nurse, same as Meg. They both entered the Nursing program at the same time and became friends, but you wouldn't know this just by watching what's on YouTube. You'd get the impression that only Meg and Pam were friends. Something that is regrettable about the relatively small collection of videos uploaded to YouTube is that there is such a microscopic focus on characters like Lily and Holden and characters in later years, while completely forgetting other characters and interesting storylines. It was Nella who didn't like Heather at first because she felt somehow threatened by the attention that Roy was giving his deepening relationship with Heather. Roy still lived at home, so perhaps Nella had been used to the attention her big brother used to lavish on her (Count Stovall had great sibling chemistry with all his onscreen sisters and I thought Tiffani Caesar was great as a bratty younger sister). Nella actually didn't understand why Heather left a career as a singer to study law. When Heather was with Tucker, she was an aspiring singer, but with Roy she was already studying to become a lawyer (one of the reasons why it always struck me as a bit odd when Jessica was introduced as a lawyer). Roy's mother actually seemed to like Heather and Roy's father seemed more consumed with the fact that he hated Roy's profession (because of Roy's brother being shot and killed by the police). I think there was a bit of tension with Jessica wanting to live with Roy, rather than marry him. Roy believed his parents wouldn't approve of the arrangement, while Jessica couldn't understand why Roy still lived at home with his parents, lol.- The Talk: Discussion Thread
I remember seeing that Soul Train documentary where it was revealed that Dick Clark stole the concept from Don Cornelius and put out Soul Unlimited, so I can't say that it surprised me that Clark tried it. - Y&R May 2021 Discussion Thread
