  1. We can agree to disagree. As far as "looking or sounding Hispanic," Michaels appeared moreso than Lazar. A Californian raised in the US wouldn't necessarily be accented. But let's tackle the ethnicity of Will Jeffries, Welles Carrera, and Sonni and Solita on GUIDING LIGHT next. LOL
  2. There are many Latina beauties who look very similar to Michaels. Gallego is a more traditional Latina, but popular Latina singers like Shakira, Paulina Rubio, Thalia--much more Anglo/exotic in look--like Lazar, who was FAR from appearing at all Hispanic. But hey, I vastly preferred Linda Gibbonney as Gina!
  3. Margaret Michaels was such a beauty as Santana. I never felt she was given a chance to shine. Gallego played Santana SO weak and over emotional. (And a bit too old and frumpy for Cruz, Mason, etc.) DeJesus was just COLD.
  4. Maylo McCaslin's father, Taylor Pero, was Lana Turner's personal assistant for years. He wrote a very unflattering bio of his life with Lana, released after Lana trashed him in her own autobio.
  5. I'm pretty sure thet Annie didn't disappear after calling about the kids. I remember scenes with her and Phillip, Lizzie, etc., where Lizzie defended Annie and spoke of Annie's role in her rescue. Annie was arrested, I believe. She went on the lam sometime later. And then years later, it was revealed that Alan had been footing the bill for her institutionalization. She somehow bizarrely lived in a hospital room totally redone to resemble Josh and Reva's living room! Ken, however, just vanished. No explanation. Holly's institutionalization was shown, but she was out in months. At one point, a reconciliation with Ross seemed possible while he and Blake were divorced. Then Sam, the cowboy con, came and went. Holly and Alan DID have chemistry--he bought The Journal in exchange for Holly receiving Spaulding stock--but Maureen Garrett then went off-contract and Holly was MIA until Sebastian and Ross' funeral. How Holly could've gotten involved with Alan, I don't know. Memories of all his schemes with Roger should've deterred her--her improsonment for murder, perhaps? LOL. Of course, MG really wanted Holly to come out and pursue Olivia. I would've preferred Holivia to the tepid Otalia.
  6. He was on L&O:SVU this week.
  7. Robb is correct. The boarding house continued to exist. We rarely saw it, as opposed to The Beacon's ONE suite, but it was still referred to. I want to say that Ashlee lived there after a falling-out with Doris.
  8. Barbara Rodell never really did anything significant on daytime afterwards. Her signature role was Joyce, and her previous roles were notable also. I SO wanted Grant to stroll through The Lakeview on ATWT's last episode and ask for Lisa...with Joyce lurking in the lobby...
  9. That is indeed Neil Wade. And Amanda Seyfried as Lucy Montgomery!
  10. Clone Reva aged every few days and Michael would being the latest version out if what seemed to be a closet to meet Josh. CR was always dressed age-appropriately. Apparently, Michael spent a lot of time at Aeropostale and Justice. Maybe Josh was donating Marah's outgrowns. Who knows? Vicky Brandon (Spaulding) was Michael's lab assistant, remember? Vanessa vowed revenge against her when Michael died in the lab explosion--nothing came of that. Alan had knowledge of Dolly, the clone, and Josh and Reva were concerned up to a year after her death that Alan would expose their secret. But Dolly was then forgotten for all time.
  11. Hmmm. Delia has morphed a bit into Roxy. I realize it's been 24 years, Ilene, but... Can't believe she's still married to Roger. Guess we won't be seeing Ron Hale. How confusing would that be for Sonny? I was hoping to see the now-26 year old Owney!
  12. Ellen dated and--GASP!--slept with Dr. Russ Matthews...I mean, Ben Forrest (David Bailey). She had a sassy next door neighbor, Suz (Betsy Palmer) and a circle of GOLDEN GIRLS precursors. It didn't last. I think the whole storyline lasted a year, tops. I bet Forsythe and Bruder were PISSED. They went back to "moral, upstanding (BORING) couple" when they coulda had a shot at some action. David and Lyla? Susan? Ellen and John? Wouldn't that have just energized Oakdale? Many marriages end after the kids are grown and gone. David's eventual offscreen death did nothing for Ellen or the show.
  13. I don't recall which writers split David and Ellen (when he had amnesia and got involved with Linda Dano's Cynthia), but it was really the only interesting--and, sadly, short-lived--storyline for them in all of the 80's. Ellen briefly had her single life, but she and David reconciled pretty wuickly, IIRC. Cynthia was written out (although her fascinating daughter Karen stuck around). Although I liked David and Ellen, this was the only time I was INTERESTED in Them.
  14. Technically, Sabrina was Barbara's cousin, while she was both cousin and half-sister to Frannie, Barbara's half-sister. I don't recall further mentions of Melinda, not even when Ghost Jennifer reappeared many years later.
  15. Wonder when Lisa Peluso's rehab stints were and if they affected her soap work? Wendy did leave SFT suddenly, and there was that short-lived OLTL stint as Billie...
  16. Sara's last "romance" was with Adam, uninspired and rushed as I remember, and really just to drive another stake in Barbara's heart. She always lived Adam. Bert was doing Dr. Jackson and I'll never believe otherwise. He was over for dinner WAY too much. Mike. The Stud of Springfield. He "dated" everyone, including Jennifer. As upstanding as he was supposed to be, he had no problem helping Elizabeth commit adultery on TWO husbands! And once while he was "dating" Jackie! Mike was seeing Alexandra when he left the show--there was still a lot of life left in the old boy.
  17. LBB must be crazy. To me, this really mars her professional rep. And Selma Blair was nuts to sign on first, too.
  18. She showed Mr. Kitty?
  19. I disagree. As Paul Raven points out, from Mary Stuart's BOTH OF ME, Jo went backburner or supporting for long stretches of time. Patti and Eunice vied for heroine status as well. Add Janet at times, and then adult Liza (the leading lady until Sherry Mathis left), as well as Sunny, Suzi and Wendy--well, let's face it: Jo was Mary Worth from about 1975 on. Sad but true. She didn't drive the show. Nor should she have. Although I loved Mary Stuart, her Jo was nowhere near as feisty, snarky or interesting as her Meta on GL. And Mary at, say, 60 was not Susan Lucci at 60, still sexing it up and romancing a plethora of men. Jo should have been more important, with more of her family members (Patti, Suzi, Eunice, Bruce, Sarah, Chris, Stacey, etc.) on the show at the same time (or not killed off). But her character wouldn't have driven story, although she could've been an important part of stories.
  20. JOYCE!!! I FLOVED me some Joyce!
  21. Was the June Carter who played Amy Ames THE June Carter? Some say yes; some say no.
  22. I think so, but I just floved Rodell in anything, period.
  23. I similarly had problems with Phillip abandoning his wife and daughter. Both Grant and Beth should've been rehired at the same time.
  24. Watching the JENNIFER RICHARDS TRIAL DVD now, I'm reminded that Elizabeth Berridge was a temp Morgan Richards. This must've been just before she was cast as Allison Linden in TEXAS.
  25. Probably. LOL is pretty much forgotten.
