  1. I find it interesting that Capitol had the luck hiring writers such as O'Shea and Slesar, even the Corringtons. It's kind of sad that one single writing regime (it's last) kind of undid the work of all those previous regimes and led to it being cancelled.
  2. Would have loved seeing Nola go up against the Spaulding's. I wrote a fanfic idea of Nola getting involved with some of the business stories and having to go up against Vanessa again, thus reigniting their age old feud.
  3. Interesting concept. I like the idea. Wish it involved characters I actually liked. Wish at least one of the American soaps would do this once they resume production.
  4. I wonder if that producer might have been Leslie Kwartin, and perhaps Potter backed Kwartin over Marland/the writers thus creating the rift between HW and EP. Makes one wonder
  5. Interesting how Douglas gives a shout out to Agnes Nixon in his acceptance speech, and soon after that he and Nixon got together and created Loving.
  6. ^Thanks for fleshing out the story Mitch. I'm incredibly intrigued by the summation of the storyline. Would love to find some videos on Youtube from this storyline. I've already watched the confrontation on the bridge, but would love to see the events that led up to that.
  7. The era after Agnes Nixon's departure as head scribe and before the Dobson's arrival is such a mystery to me, especially when you look at the ratings ups and downs for such a period. I wish there was more available.
  8. I'm excited about this one, just wish Lisa Brown was a part of it.
  9. Moving on 🙄 Just watched this episode from the summer of 1989 (1989 being the start of GL's last golden era until 1993), and it really showcases what made GL special. Vanessa is flirting with a young Frank to make Billy jealous. Sarah is uneasy about Dylan and Revas growing relationship. Awkward yet adorable Sam Marler sharing scenes with her brother Phillip, and her overly protective uncle Ross. Holly and Blake caught up in Alan's games concerning Phillip. Oh and Ed and Maureen's marriage on the rocks. While Y&R prides itself on not having everyone know everybody in Genoa City, GL being a completely different animal, really goes above and beyond in this episode with the cast interaction.
  10. If there's one good thing that might come out of this Tara Reade situation, is that it will shine a light on the GOP's antics this election cycle. I remember sexual harassment claims being put against both Mayor Pete and Elizabeth Warren, when both were debunked one barely heard a peep from the media.
  11. I can only confirm with the last question that Sara indeed had been minimized on the show for her last year or so. Not sure how she was written out though.
  12. Labine seemed to want to apply some of the storylines/character archetypes from her time on GH, to early 2000s GL and it was a massive mistake. A storyline where a woman from a wholesome family of doctors, who once was involved with a mobster, falls for a cop might have been able to be told in Port Charles, but applying that to Danny/Michelle/Frank? I hated the way she wrote Blake. For all of Lloyd Gold's faults, I loved seeing Blake regain some of her edge back when going toe to toe with that Tori character.
  13. I wonder what were the original plans for Eve, obviously I don't believe she was ever meant to be paired with Ed. Was she supposed to slowly go psycho over Nick? Become a permanent character and be paired with another character eventually? I think the potential was there for either happening.
  14. It would've been a powder keg of sorts if in 2002 GL did bring back Rita and her now adult son, in addition to Hope/Alan Michael for the war at Spaulding. Such arrivals would have caused ripple affects across the canvas. Rita's arrival wouldn't have only affected the Spauldings but the Bauers too, which I believe Ed and Holly were starting to grow close at the time. Re: Ken Norris With Roger absent from Springfield I think Ken would've been a nice way to keep Ed/Holly on the front burner in the late 90s. In addition we could have the arrival of Janet and their daughter. This would've been so much better than what we actually got.
  15. Didn't Ken Norris have some type of bad blood with Ed Bauer?
  16. 💕A Vince Williams mention by Bryan!
  17. If the show was still on air, and Bryan stepped in as Bill, even today he and Jordan Clarke would be so believable as father and son.
  18. Was GL still Reva centric during the Long/Robert Calhoun years before she drove off a bridge in the keys? I was watching quite a bit of episodes from 89-90 and it seemed that the show found sort of a balance where it seemed Alex, Holly, and Vanessa were sharing a bulk of the front burner stories.
  19. I feel satisfied that they mocked or made fun of 3 stories penned by B&E🤣😂 The Nursery Rhyme Stalker, the clone, and Annie drugging Josh. I love it!
  20. Didnt Ellis and Hunt pen ATWT through much of the 70s?
  21. Quinlan had breathed new life into the show IMO. Nancy Pinkerton is pure brilliance on this show right now.
  22. Watching these recently uploaded episodes of GL from 1994 reminds me how much potential the show had after Curlees departure yet horribly wasted it. It makes me sad.
  23. Michael-Paul is named after his father Mike and also Toni's father.
  24. This Sara storyline is so sad 😭
