  1. A lot of the people involved in it ran like hell after the first season, which has always confused me. Maybe it was a FOX thing. I should disclaim that I do know a lot of fans are fine with this era of the show, some of whom, like my father, are far bigger Trek fans than I am. I just don't really like Abrams' work. I do hope the show does well, streaming or whatever it may be.
  2. Ew, does this involve that hack Abrams? And was Kurtzman one of the people who abandoned Sleepy Hollow?
  3. That was probably when the WB was at its most successful so they had room to breathe. They revamped HB about halfway through - being told to sex up the show by bringing in Carmen Electra as a vamp and having sexy romps in hot tubs and so on. It didn't work, clearly. Wasteland is one of those shows where a fair number of episodes were left unaired. Those had Frank Grillo as a boyfriend to the token gay.
  4. It just shows how generic they were and how overblown these promos have become (the Callum one still gives me a cringe). And it reminds me of more forgettable characters of recent years - I'd totally forgotten that girlfriend of Lloyd's.
  5. Someone has uploaded some Whispering Streets episodes onto Youtube.
  6. This must rank high on the list as one of the most misleading promos of all time.
  7. Thanks. Great shot.
  8. Thanks. I just sent you a PM with the same message - eerie. I mostly remember her hair. That's about it. Between Laura and the chemistry he had with Jessica Tuck she really would have needed to be better than whoever they did end up casting, who was very Lifetime host.
  9. I was reading a Soap Opera Weekly from late 1991 or early 1992, and they mention the cop who was supposed to be a love interest for Andrew and lasted for about 5 minutes (her name was Maggie). They said that Saundra Santiago was originally cast as Maggie, but once she was told it would run longer than 4 episodes, she left. What I was trying to figure out is if she aired for those 4 days or if she was never onscreen at all. It's nice to know that Sandra was a part of OLTL in bizarre circumstances for 3 consecutive decades.
  10. Watching a few more Eddie clips on that channel - that guy is so wooden.
  11. They should pair Pete/Andy.
  12. There are some clips of Eddie's death. Not much else sadly. I have some I mean to upload on a new channel eventually but don't know if I have any of that material.
  13. Thanks for that. I don't get the feeling GH has ever been much of a happy set, at least not in many years, but they just don't get vocal about it the way certain people at Y&R do. I'd say Gloria had the right idea about actors and writers.
  14. I think so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clyde_Tavernier
  15. I was really impressed by Janis Paige here. It's a shame the show ended just as she arrived.
  16. Yes. Imagine a black family that was not tied to boring, odious "gangster" stories...
  17. That was Eddie Royle, who was landlord of the Vic for about a year between Frank and Pat and Grant. He was killed by Nick Cotton. His unpopularity with viewers is one of the reasons the show was reluctant to bring in new pub landlords for a long time. There's such a harsh edge to the reactions to Charlie's death that you wouldn't have had on Corrie at the time. Now all soaps tend to be that harsh - or worse. June Brown, I think, was very unhappy they killed off Charlie. They uploaded a few more clips yesterday, I just didn't want to clog up the thread.
  18. Such awful awful hair on Kim and Lisa. Kim's complete contempt for Steve makes me laugh far more than it was likely intended to do. It's a good thing I was not really old enough to watch at this time and there was no Internet, as I would have been ranting all day about the way use her to prop him. Everything with the Gunnar/Barbara group is so flat (and poor Elaine Princi saddled with that "continental" accent - I guess those scenes were writing out that pointless Bilan character). By contrast the scenes with Tom and Margo have real tenderness and heart. I guess it's not too hard to figure out what the show was concentrating on at this point. There's also a ton of intimacy with Deas and Colin that blurs many lines. I can see why HBS said he had real problems adjusting to her after Colin left the show. The schlocky music video with Betsy was an odd detour, although it was an interesting time capsule to what ATWT was at this point, and what it wanted to be. At one point I thought she was going to jump (frankly I wouldn't have been upset if she had). Diana's flirting with Craig is kind of hot.
  19. Never seen that photo either. Thanks. Probably already seen around here, but anyway, Randolph Mantooth speaking very bluntly about his time on GH, and, presumably, Wendy Riche. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5k7zlw6nBs4
