He'll probably pop in once a month. I wouldn't be surprised if he only holds press conferences at his resort, never at the WH, so he can shill products.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess that's about what we should expect. I would say Bridgegate investigations will keep him out but clearly Trump doesn't care about investigations...

Some very rare clips here (not sure if they have more to upload or not), mostly from 2002, 2003. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HI_1-P1a0g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn299OwjwiE

That sent a chill up my spine. As awful as it is, at least I can laugh at Trump's people giving Christie one last kick in the ass, after spending a year making it an artform. Apparently he prosecuted Jared Kushner's father. I wonder if this year of ritual humiliation was by design.

I think they are hoping to slowly choke the life out of Obamacare, which is what has been happening in the last few years. Then there is, as mentioned elsewhere in the thread, how quick they will go to try to gut Medicare/Social Security - a longtime passion of Paul Ryan and his Ayn Rand loving ways. I bet he wishes he hadn't burned himself so badly with Trump and his cronies.

Yes - I'm surprised he didn't just keep working at CNN while working for Trump. They're happy to keep those checks coming.

For all the talk of Hillary as a power-mad zealot, I think she did love this country and genuinely wanted to help it. And a recount would cause blood in the streets, even more than we're already getting. I have a lot of respect for how she and Tim Kaine conducted themselves after their loss. I still remember sour old Lieberman, I still remember the Brooks Brothers Riot, and so much else. This is bad, the whole thing is bad, but it would be worse if Hillary and Obama weren't being so adult. I think people will soon see how rare it is to have an actual adult in the White House.

Why do I have to hear Lena Dunham make yet another thing all about her. Ugh.

Doesn't surprise me about Jill Stein. I thought she came across very poorly - the epitome of the smart idiot - in the campaign. The Greens never get it together. As for Pence, it's likely just his ties to Washington. Looks like Trump's cohorts are huddling in for the real say. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/12/us/politics/trump-cabinet.html

Margaret Reed also has her on Youtube channel - earlier this year she put up some videos while she was doing a play. I thought Holmes worked well with Eileen Fulton, Bob Hastings and Ellen Dolan (for a while anyway). To me he really didn't get bad until the late '90s.

Not 100% sure of the reliability of this, and it is something people change and edit, but someone put together bits on what you may want or need to do before January. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QjiJi4YBbmdnWyTdKDb-IgLvTjYKWx3WqNirAkGMQV8/mobilebasic

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
I hope the episodes can be shown at some point. If only P&G gave a damn. I really enjoyed the cast on display in the '66 episodes that are on YT - Paul, Robin, supporting figures like that Jane woman and her husband. Of course most of them were on the way out. I would think they were all popular with viewers as well. Don Stewart's Mike seems to have been popular almost immediately, and Barbara Rodell's recast Leslie seems to have been as well, so I guess that have helped ease the transition, along with other new characters becoming viewer favorites, like Sara or Joe. I guess that may be one of the reasons why even if the show wasn't seen as being great it didn't really run into trouble until the mid '70s. There are some stories that sound very weak and un-GL to me on paper, like the whole Lesley/Stanley thing, that I wish I could actually see to gauge for myself. And others I'd love to see just because they sound like a blast, like the Charlotte/Tracy Delmar saga. I'd love to be able to see Nancy Addison and Victoria Wyndham (although I figure Wyndham was gone by the time the Charlotte/Tracy stuff really got going) playing uber-bitches, or in Tracy's case, neurotic and desperate.

Khan has said everything about Mike Pence, really, but he just terrifies me. Trump is also terrifying, as is Rudy and that whole cabal, so I feel like I am lessening them by talking about Pence, but that isn't my intent. I do think that Trump is bored enough to let him get involved in a lot of social policy, and making who knows what kinds of changes we will only hear dribs and drabs about (especially funding of hate groups - the media ignored it because the media is full of homophobes and woman-haters and loves white androids anyway, but Pence supports reparative therapy AKA brainwash and torture and also supports forced birthing). I imagine he will have a lot of influence on SCOTUS too, although I have a feeling Rudy will be the main ear on that. I hope that he was just chosen to drive up the "Jesus told me to hate you" vote and will not have major influence. If only... I also wonder what influence his son-in-law will have. He's young and naive, could be easily shut out, but he also seems grasping and I doubt Trump would have won without him. There will likely be power struggles galore, all with hands over the red button.

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
I wish that more of that period was available. GL was always a little looser than ATWT, but still, Roger must have been jarring for viewers, even if Zaslow had so much charm and in that period was likely able to come across as the basically OK guy who was a bit of a rascal (always popular with older female viewers). I get the feeling that the cupboard was somewhat bare at GL by the early '70s, as other than Mike, Peggy, Bert and Ed the heavy drama seemed to involve new or new-ish characters, like Sara, Joe, Charlotte, Leslie, etc. That must have made it easier for viewers to accept Roger and the Norrises (well that and Barbara Berjer being familiar from ATWT).
