  1. Danny Dyer apparently once again talking through his ass. It's not a bad ass, but no one wants to hear what comes out of it. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a814036/eastenders-star-danny-dyer-most-experienced-soap-actor-adam-woodyatt-steve-mcfadden-have-only-played-one-role/
  2. True. I mostly liked the chemistry. Looking back I suppose KMH had it with a number of men (I thought she did with Daniel Markle and Paul Korver as well), but the writing was often so poor. Honestly sometimes I wonder how her version of the character lasted nearly 20 years when so much of her material was poor.
  3. I was talking with someone about this a few days ago and they said they've even known people who worked for places to become citizens without becoming citizens themselves - I wonder if some people just assumed they'd always have time.
  4. I appreciate everything you've shared. I often don't even have time to watch it but I always try to save it because you are the only person who is making any of this available now because of the Youtube draconianism. You've really made me appreciate this era so much more than I did at the time.
  5. Along with Hal he was one of the few love interests KMH worked with. They absolutely destroyed Emily after this, with that Diego trash.
  6. I was reading an article at AV Club about an Adult Swim artist leaving in part because of a new anti-Semitic show they are airing (and partly because of their misogynistic hiring practices), and it's disturbing reading comments sections of pseudo-intellectual wankfests that make up that site and seeing so many anti-Semitic and Breitbart-type trolls pop up. The people there, who are so used to being in their own world, clearly don't have any way to react to how what was once seen as ironic or meaningless now being open hate speech (a word many at places like that would likely decry as "PC" - I remember so many of them clapping like seals when Patton Oswalt was railing against PC early this year). This is why so many trying to seem cool for the last few decades by deriding "PC" was so dangerous - it slowly but surely created a climate where the more disgusting things you say, the bigger a martyr you become. There's now a well-cultivated echo chamber online that breeds hate and harassment. It's been building for a while but it seems like it was only this year that many took notice, especially of the anti-Semitism, which I think some, especially those in the media, naively assumed did not happen in America.
  7. I can't imagine how they will react when he inevitably turns against them in petulance. Then again they will have gotten everything they want out of him by that point. We lose either way, really I have to admit I was a little concerned about how Hillary was going to deal with them, because her instincts mostly seemed to veer toward war, but Trump so clearly has no idea about these people and I doubt anyone on his "team" does either.
  8. Some Latino groups have said the exit polls are inaccurate, although the only evidence they pointed to was a pre-election poll, so...
  9. Yes. He's also a huge Eurosceptic (he loathes the EU I believe). I tend to wonder if that's why Trump likes him.
  10. Chilling. It reminds me of artwork from the '20s or '30s. John Oliver pretty much says it all for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJBqhhzcguM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rSDUsMwakI I saw a lot of pooh-poohing saying he's part of the problem because he gave Trump attention and he thought he could influence the election, and so forth. He always criticized Trump, he never just treated him as an obscurity. And I don't believe for a minute that any voters out there flocked to Trump because of a geeky British guy on a cable channel most either don't have, or likely wouldn't be getting just to somehow magically rebel against one politinfotainment show. It's an easy out to avoid real questions. He really is trying to help, he's always been trying to help, and that's more than I can say for most of the late night frathouse. The only complaint I have is he had Amy Schumer in that last clip - someone else I try my best to avoid seeing. I did get a good laugh when I looked at the Daily Mail comments section and someone said they knew they had to write Oliver off when he criticized Jill Stein. Yes, let's not say a bad word about a deluded narcissist who is about as good at finding cities in Ohio as she is at running for office. I wonder if Susan Sarandon wrote that comment.
  11. The cast had a reunion this weekend, and sent a message of support to Shannen Doherty, who couldn't be there. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3932746/Fight-like-Brenda-Beverly-Hills-90210-cast-honor-absent-Shannen-Doherty-reunion-event-amid-breast-cancer-battle.html
  12. I think of Cass and Kathleen every time I hear this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcuMOlPoZ8c
  13. I agree, but then Trump, and most of the press, will blame Obama if Trump misses a bowel movement. I guess he figured he had to try.
  14. I liked his work on ATWT. It helped that I really really liked Jef (yet another wasted character). I wish they'd done more with him.
  15. It's a sign of how much Obama really does care about the country, for all the 8 years of so many insisting he didn't. I doubt most of the last Presidents would have bothered. Many in his position would be gleeful about this. I have a lot of respect for him for this, even as it will likely go in one ear and out the other. And yeah, as mentioned above, I can't even hope for resignation or impeachment because of Pence. What a nightmare figure that man is.
  16. A Parks and Rec writer dusts off Leslie Knope one last time in the wake of the election. http://www.vox.com/first-person/2016/11/10/13580582/leslie-knope-donald-trump

  18. Some of my favorite Ryan's Hope scenes. These and many others will stay with me forever thanks to Claire Labine and Paul Avila Mayer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWd6kbO6dNY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkSyMrVHgVU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G-epEpnU20
  19. Malone was asked about bringing back Iris and basically said they were concentrating on younger characters. Well it didn't help that supposedly the firing was mandated by an NBC exec - I imagine that must have been even more disorienting (I think the same one who got Norm McDonald canned). Wyndham said that she felt the network or P&G wanted her to quit in AW's last years, but she wouldn't, because of the fans.
  20. Given her party's struggles in Germany I don't know how long that will last. The sad part is if she and the EU had handled the refugee crisis better I think some of these problems would have been minimized (although I don't really believe Brexit caused this election - it's just that all these dangerous groups are now finding a common global voice).
  21. Sad part is not just giving Bannon the role outright is likely seen as moderation.
  22. Thanks. Not a surprise, but what really matters is what she wants anyway. I wish her the best. My only complaint is her exit should have been better.
  23. I think it was his ranting and raving off-script and his struggles to face criticism of his Presidency that caused the most sidelining of him. Most of it likely lingering from 2008. Newsmax is a disgusting site and I won't read anything on it.
