  1. I wonder if they're angling for a surprise cameo from Nigel. I didn't mind him in some roles but he always made my skin crawl a bit on Corrie.
  2. I remember all the supposed drama with Tognoni/Pelphrey/Gaschet as well.
  3. I loved Gilly. I still hate her exit story. I guess by then GL had such money issues they couldn't bring back much of anyone aside from Grant Aleksander and the cameos at the end.
  4. If the Alan-Michael recast had been more popular (the last one that was way too young) I do wonder if they might have brought her back, but I think many saw Lucy as just a fill-in Harley anyway.
  5. Adam Yauch's memorial has been defaced with swastikas and pro-Trump graffiti. http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/hip-hop/7581401/beastie-boys-adam-yauch-memorial-defaced-swastikas-trump
  6. When I liked Harley best was when she was a quirky, messy character who had a serious core. For me that was taken from her when she was paired with Mallet (never liked that pairing...). When she came back I thought it was potentially there again, and she and Philip worked well in that context early on, but when they brought back Beth she became very serious to contrast Beth's neurotic prissy dysfunction. I think she and Gus again could have been that but I don't know if it ever worked out. I feel like over time actress overtook character.
  7. How long did that set of Wanda's last? It looks a lot different than the one I remember from about 1991 to 1994 or whenever they stopped showing it.
  8. Sometimes I almost forget about those last years...maybe most of her stint after 1991 or so, but especially then. It did seem wrong she wasn't there at the end though. I can't remember if AMC had already ditched her in the toilet stalls by then.
  9. I was genuinely surprised to skip through yesterday's episode and see - admittedly with bedcovers blocking the goods - Lee on top of Whitney, his beautiful ass moving up and down as he unsuccessfully tried to perform before rolling over to his side of the bed. I've never seen anything like that on a "major" UK soap before. I never know what stupid people will complain to OFCOM about (earlier this year some complained because they were sure Emmerdale was making fun of people with palsy), but I'll be surprised if that shot doesn't get a flood.
  10. I forgot to say last night - it may have already been common knowledge, but until that brief clip I had no idea why Wanda always called Asa "Cousin Asa," other than to wind him up. As it turns out they are distantly related, which is hilarious.
  11. It would have been strange seeing Josh with the butch, bitter Harley of her last 5 years, but you never know. I'm just glad they never paired him with Vanessa as they may have if "Matessa" hadn't taken off. Of course he likely never would have porked her daughter...
  12. To be honest with you I always thought Josh was kind of dull, outside of his pairing with Harley. I also thought he was a sanctimonious ass. I thought the last few years and his efforts to become a minister had a lot of potential, but it just never really went anywhere. I think soaps can do the talk show host gig alright if it's handled the proper way, like the Cutting Edge on AMC, or Leanna Love on Y&R. Reva's story just never really made sense in that context, because her life was always OTT OTT OTT. Like in-between stints as a talk show host, she went blind while helping her sister fight rebels on a tropical island. What can you say?
  13. I was in and out in those last years but I never felt like Reva's problem in her last return was chasing after Josh as much as a lack of focus. She was a talk show host, a psychic, a lost princess. None of this ever really went anywhere and the talk show host stuff in particular was garish (I remember the bit where while live on air she helped the black waitress at Company, Ruth, who took someone hostage or something - it had "white savior" written all over it). She had the failed pairings with Bradley Cole. She had all the hammy melodrama with Tom Pelphrey that I found tacky and embarrassing. Josh often seemed like a bystander, which was one of the reasons Robert Newman got tired of the pairing, I believe.
  14. Oh I like a few of their shows, and I appreciate that they try some material that isn't around elsewhere, I just think a lot of their biggest material rests on hype and is very very samey. But I do think casting Parker Posey as Dr. Smith is a good choice and it means the producers aren't going to just try to copy the original.
  15. Not sure if Netflix falls into either category...
  16. As it's on Netflix I can't see it being great but then the movie and most of the original show weren't either so it could be an improvement.
  17. Parker Posey will be on Lost in Space as Dr. Smith. http://deadline.com/2016/11/lost-in-space-parker-posey-cast-netflix-series-remake-1201858895/ Elisabeth Rohm will have a recurring role on Jane the Virgin. http://deadline.com/2016/11/jane-the-virgin-cast-elisabeth-rohm-recurring-1201859008/ Shannen Doherty will be in TV Land's remake of Heathers. http://deadline.com/2016/11/shannen-doherty-heathers-remake-tv-land-first-photo-1201858967/
  18. I see that Miss Lindsey Graham was on Faux News talking about how Trump should have prosecuted Hillary. What happened to that respect for the Constitution, eh? I imagine he thinks he's being clever by feeding the bear, but they're still going to hate him, no matter what he says or does.
  19. From what I remember neither of them wanted a reunion, so they'd probably agree with you.
  20. Weren't his numbers closer to the result than most? (even though he still thought she'd win)
  21. I can sort of see why she chose it, as she worked a lot that year and had some varied writing after lengthy periods of bad camp or meddling mother. I'd definitely love to see interviews with more cast members. If anyone is able to get in touch with actors on Facebook maybe they could ask.
  22. Speaking of the Clintons, as I think many will never be able to quit them - Snopes has a long list (last updated in 2007 I believe but very long, and dusted off again this year) of the people that some on the far right (and likely the far left) claim they have killed. If anyone ever throws any of these names out at you at least you can have a handy guide. http://www.snopes.com/monica-petersen-killed/
  23. So now I guess their big hero will be Jason Chaffetz.
  24. Gabbard's family are longtime anti-gay crusaders in Hawaii. She eventually changed her views; a part of me wondered if it was just for political reasons. I still do. I guess we'll see.
  25. It was always murky with the Clintons because Hillary was basically billed as co-president or "two for the price of one" when Bill was first running. Then she was downgraded because of backlash. Then the health care stuff started, then she was downgraded again. Then he kept interjecting himself into her 2008 campaign. And the Foundation stuff, although that was mostly media and right wing fed hype, even if there may have been a few things that I don't think were above board. There was never really that type of presentation with Trump because his ego runs the show, even if he clearly leans on her. It's a double standard, because if Chelsea were all over Hillary's contacts with foreign leaders post-election, there would be calls for imprisonment and impeachment, but I also feel like it's a distraction. It allows him to say "Leave my family alone, wah wah wah," if he wishes, and it also means less time spent focusing on some of the other people who have been backing him and have dangerous views. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/rebekah-mercer-donald-trump-231693 http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/trump-transition-heritage-foundation-231722
