  1. I know a lot of people never cared for Lincoln or Rick but he was always the lynchpin of the show for me. I loved his work and I loved Andrew's passion for the show and the character. And I loved him with Michonne. This makes the decision to kill Carl even more short-sighted.
  2. I wasn't praising them. I was just surprised. The way America is going I didn't think they would.
  3. Kelli Maroney is in that thread. Wow. Small world.
  4. I saw that after I shot off at the mouth here. There were like 10 pages to go through so I had to steel myself...
  5. Of the cast I feel most sorry for those who hadn't worked a lot since the original show ended. Sometimes it's obvious why, but Lecy Goranson, in the clips I saw, was very good this time around. I hope she gets some work from this and isn't tarnished by Roseanne herself. Like the tweet from Todd Van Der Woof (?) said, I'm surprised ABC cancelled it. Yes, the ratings were falling, and would have continued to do so, but that was from a huge height. They made the right decision though.
  6. Not to make this too glib but I saw on Twitter that conservatives are trying to get Bill Maher's show canceled as retribution. All I can say (as someone else said on there) is - yes, please, show those liberals what for by getting that awful man's awful show canceled! I'm more than fine with that. Really.
  7. I would love to see more of Victoria. I guess I just don't blame Liv for that because we haven't really seen much of Victoria since 2009 or so. I tend to blame Gavin Blyth (RIP) as he sidelined her in favor of Hannah, Holly and Amy. That's how it has stayed. The show hasn't really cared about the Sugdens since the mid '90s. They have not treated them right or done anything to help them grow. It's like the Bauers on GL. I had hoped when Robert became popular they might build the family up, but it still didn't happen. I don't think it ever will.
  8. I do wonder if the cast would consider going on without her. They are obviously loyal to her, but this was obscene. I'm sure FOX is on the line waiting...
  9. Russ Tamblyn has joined Twitter. https://twitter.com/RussTamblyn
  10. I have to admit I've watched a few clips, and a part of me wanted to watch the show again. I'm not going to judge anyone who still is - no one needs my judgment, anyway - but after this I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I did. If I were ABC I would take the risk of firing her (if they can legally) and moving on without her.
  11. About a week ago it was said she was staying on, so I think it did.
  12. Looks like Roseanne is quitting Twitter, after apologizing. I wonder if ABC brought the hammer down.
  13. I always wondered how fans must have felt considering Jada had grown up on the show. At least she came back at the end. I can't remember if anyone ever mentioned before that the show almost killed off Rick (I guess Freddie in those days). Imagine how different things would have been if they had.
  14. @vetsoapfan here's the Lynne Adams interview.
  15. Ugh. That's sickening.
  16. This is why I always wish people would stop and think before they retweet and get angry - I saw those photos going around and people would try to point out they were from the Obama-era administration but they still kept going around anyway. All this does is just undercut the horrible way that Trump treats and speaks about immigrants. I'm not surprised about King and Linda Sarsour, but I thought the other guy would have known better. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/05/29/trump-border-immigrant-children-cages-photo-610039 The photograph in question began to circulate online over the weekend, shared by Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau and activists Shaun King and Linda Sarsour, among others. It shows two children lying on green mats on a concrete floor behind a chain-link fence. The photo was taken by The Associated Press and was published by The Arizona Republic in 2014 as part of a photo gallery. Favreau later deleted his tweet. I wonder if this is why Wilbur Ross (presumably without his Coke can) is now joining their trade negotiations even though they see him as worthless. It will be a big wet kiss and we will get nothing. Meanwhile we will probably continue to alienate our actual allies like Germany or France.
  17. RIP Cornelia Frances. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-44285534
  18. She also "died" on ATWT via a car crash. It's hard to believe that those 1979/80 clips on Youtube are all we have of her work on soaps.
  19. To me Isobel Steele is a very strong actor so if we're going to get rid of actors based on talent I wouldn't write her out. I also think Danny Miller is a good actor - Aaron just has no purpose as a character and hasn't since Kate Oates destroyed him. I don't think Ned Porteous is that great of an actor (although he's better than I thought he would be, and I don't think he's that far off of Mike Parr) but I actually think he has more chemistry with Charley Webb than many of her love interests (she and Ross were awful together; she and Andy made me sick). Not that it matters as this story is not likely to ever go anywhere interesting. I wouldn't write him out, especially since that means they would have to stick more people into Home Farm, where characters go to die. I would have him become friends with Robert instead of the feuding [!@#$%^&*] and have a few more Tates come to the village. Frank's son Liam's family, or Zoe's daughter Jean. Or Kim's son James. I don't really feel like the Dingles have as heavy a presence at the moment as they have in past years. There are still tons of them around, but most of them are in supporting roles. Even the bigger Dingles are mostly in supporting roles while Lachlan's story wraps up. You have the Debbie mess, and Charity's story (which for me is the best on the show), and Liv's story, and Chas and her baby, but the last two are mostly B-plots. There are, which is rare by Emmerdale standards of the last 5-10 years, multiple stories that don't involve the Dingles at all (Brenda/Bob/Laurel, the Spencers, Megan/Graham), although those stories aren't exactly great shakes. I think if the show just learned how to tell stories again it would improve. I generally like most of the cast and I don't think the show is as dead inside as Corrie is. I also don't think it's quite as wedded to vile thugs as Eastenders is with Phil. It's just the storytelling and pacing is completely off in almost every plot.
  20. Definitely. As shown on GL about a decade earlier with Kathy's death. That must have been especially horrifying (pushed into oncoming traffic...).
  21. This may be the most cringeworthy, desperate thing I have ever seen on television. Andy Cohen is lucky that Matt Bomer and hubby presumably aren't the vengeful types...although with someone like Andy the best vengeance would probably be making him think you're interested in him and then never, ever contacting him again.
  22. I think Lee had been given LSD and it affected her from then on - I think she even broke up with the man she loved because she felt that the trips would destroy her life and wanted better for him. While this does happen in life (I've read about various musicians whose mental states were never the same after being spiked or after dropping acid) it seems so horrific a way to write out a character.
  23. I did. I guess it didn't work out but I wish we could see some of Hays' work in the role. Lee was the one who died via a car accident/acid trip, right? How did you feel about that? I wonder if it was Rodell's choice to leave.
