  1. I have so much hatred for these types of selfish people. She represents a blue district so she can't even claim she's going along with her voters. Supposedly she was upset over being criticized for missing key votes (she claimed it was because of long COVID). Her pouting is now going to mean all people in her state, especially women, minorities, lgbt people, will pay the price.
  2. That's interesting. I'm not surprised about Byron (although I'm sorry he couldn't return - the actor was gorgeous and charismatic), but Nicolette had been there for a few years...I'd have thought if the actress didn't want to return they might have waited a bit.
  3. In decades past, 60 Minutes was known for asking hard questions. Now they are a puff piece outlet for a hardcore extremist and hatemonger, one who, in spite of years of favorable media attention, has yet to be greeted with anything but disgust by much of the public. This interview was seemingly an attempt to change that, rather than a genuine effort on the part of CBS News.
  4. Quinta is hosting SNL tonight.
  5. Another look at what the sassy sloth overlooked in the Disney fight, even as he (and the media) will never give up in "winning."
  6. I don't think it helped that Kathie Lee was just plain exhausting. I watched too much of Live in those years, mostly when staying with loved ones who had it on in the background every morning, or when in doctor's offices, and the shift from a "perky" figure to one who would spend 20-30 minutes every episode venting and complaining and being aggrieved was suffocating, even if I did share her views of the tabloids. Kathie Lee has never really been able to see the world around her, which later led to unfortunate moments like asking Martin Short questions about his happy marriage without knowing his wife had been dead for several years. The tabloids had lost some of their power by the time Kelly came along, but Kelly also just wasn't that interesting to write about in comparison. She's mostly a quietly tiring, shut down presence.
  7. Watching the GL Watch Party on Locher Room, and Nancy Curlee briefly mentioned a stint consulting for ABC. She said she was going to write a menopause story for Erica, only to be told that Erica would never be going through menopause.
  8. Watching this right now. Nancy is doing most of the talking when they get to talk - such an intelligent woman with such a wonderful voice. I don't think I appreciated until now how much Southern women kept the show going through that '80s and early '90s revival era. That's interesting to me. I think it sort of shows the unique flair and vitality GL had compared to other soaps.
  9. I haven't watched the Hayley Barr Locher Room interview yet - was she asked about the rumors that they were going to have her play Harley full time if Beth had left in 2000?
  10. If anyone's going to be apologizing it should be him for his last 15 years of shitty, homophobic writing.
  11. Great rundown @Vee and adding details to episodes I haven't seen in such a long time. I never knew the Empire Valley story got such a negative response - to me espionage plots, no matter how muddled, are more interesting than, say, anything involving Joshua. I feel like viewers of primetime soaps had a very limited stomach for espionage stories though - similar plots flopped on Falcon Crest, Dallas and Dynasty in this period of time. I also never knew how uneasy Ava Gardner was at the work. As you mention, you sure couldn't tell onscreen.
  12. I thought he didn't know it was her.
  13. That voiceover sounds like AI.
  14. Disgusting propaganda on display here.
  15. Charlotte deserves better than a hack like RC.
  16. Pathetic beyond words.
  17. @Vee It would be nice to see her again. Such a great actress.
  18. Thanks @slick jones That's certainly a rare, unique promo. The art is...questionable (Sandy and Lisa are identical twins), but such a great document for a lost era anyway.
  19. Linda Thorson (ex-OLTL, Emmerdale).
  20. I read that Jen Shah's lawyer is now representing Jonathan Majors. I suppose that case was always going to be tough to beat but I'm surprised she got more work from it. I haven't heard great things about his defense as of yet either...
  21. I think once outside of the bubble that Bill Bell and Kay Alden had Eileen in, it was more difficult to hide what a harsh presence she is (this was also an issue when she returned to Y&R, I think). She was all wrong as a Capwell kid, who, aside from Terry Lester's Mason I suppose, were generally smoother on the surface and cracked underneath.
