  4. August 30 1994 issue.
  5. This is from a mid-November 1994 SOM.
  6. 12/14 SOM I wonder if it was a publicity thing for her play.
  7. This is from a 12/21/93 SOM.
  8. Wasn't Bethenny initially single with no kids when the show started?
  9. Michael and Yusef actually are fairly complicated - but that doesn't mean Neighbours should be axed. Neighbours has had many complex characters over the years. It's silly talk. I liked Mickey, although many didn't. I never liked the father. Many feel that the family was destroyed due to the firings of the women who played Demi and Rosie - apparently Rosie went because of some personal troubles with the actress. Darren is good as a comedy supporting character, especially with Max and Tamwar. I will miss that.
  10. A Daytime TV had a cover story on that attempted kidnapping. I'd hoped it was just some gag, but it was real. Yikes.
  11. At time I talked about the second episode in this I thought it was Pat Barry. But maybe it was Beverly Penberthy? It may be. Lindsay was filming a pilot.
  12. I posted Sallows' scenes in April. I think she may be in another clip too, from the same set (David's funeral).
  13. That was a delight. It seemed like AMC still had those little character moments up to about 2007 or 2008.
  14. I wonder if her last name inspired the writers. Can you believe this is Viki's IMDB listing: Mayor Victoria 'Viki' 'Blondie' Lord Riley Lord Buchanan Buchanan Carpenter Davidson I wonder if someone will look at Joanne Dorian's page and say, "Wow she did a lot in a year."
  15. I thought some of the fans interested in the earlier years might like this. I know there are some photos of Joanne Dorian around (if there's an episode I guess it's not available) but this is the only article I've seen so far. It's from Afternoon TV, June 1971.
  16. I remember how popular Sam was when he first showed up. It was only when the show began repeatedly, sometimes brutally, reinforcing his superiority, and bringing on all his relatives, that people started to hate him. They would have been better off if they'd kept him in a smaller role, and with less of that teeth-sucking smugness. So much of the Nora stuff seemed to be from his POV for a long time - even when Nora told the truth it seemed to be most about how it affected him. There's one scene where he is going on about Nora only caring about what helps Bo, and loving Bo, and she mentions to him that he kept quiet about Lindsay's lies. He just ignores the question entirely.
  17. I remember HBS used to say, about her pairings starting in the late 90's, isn't it great to have these handsome men. I'm sure it was, but I usually felt like that was just a way to avoid saying they'd lost the essence of who Nora was. I would have tried Nora/Hank again. At the time I was a little repulsed by Sam/Nora (KB Sam). When I watch again I still end up feeling that way, mostly because Nora just seems strangely oppressed, as does Viki with Ben.
  18. For some reason I thought she also married Max and that split him from Roxy, but you're probably right. I also have those flashes of kinky sex with Lindsay and Troy...that was such an odd storyline. I don't think Nora was ever suited for Troy or Colin.
  19. Cris and Natalie were great, a real breath of fresh air. I wish they'd talked a little more about the other side of Allison, the more sympathetic side, which I didn't even know of until watching clips from the time she kidnapped Jessica. At the time I remember being jolted when the show went from camp and more camp to a lot of very dark and ugly stuff. It started to feel out of control. I also enjoyed Asa humiliating "Gretel Rae", although the rest was forgettable (I keep forgetting she ended up marrying Max).
  20. I also enjoyed Roxy/Max, however brief it was. I don't know if she's still alive but they should have brought Sylvia Miles in again as Roxy's mother. I just wish I could block out that Niki return.
  21. Also from this issue.
  22. Early October 1993 issue.
  23. One of the old soap magazines from Judith's AW days had a wedding spread. Wisner has a certain handsome/offbeat look. I wonder how much that ended up playing into AMC casting. Probably not, but if you look at him, he looks a little like some of the men of the '70s (Nick, Mark). Anyway, I'm going to post a few Soap Opera Magazine bits as they had fun little moments for each soap each week. This is from a May 1992 issue.
  24. This is so wonderfully done. This is a Corrie that Phil Collinson would never recognize. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZfsD2q03UI
