Thanks for sharing this. I thought Brooke and Thorne were a strong couple, in spite of the bad writing. I did hate what they did to Macy.

Around 1996, probably at the nadir (or one of them anyway) in Brooke storylines, there was a text game which was done by someone who loved to hate Brooke. She couldn't remember her son's name, she left him home alone eating cookies and candy, she only cared about Laura Kirk because of her dead daughter, and offhandedly made disparaging comments about her appearance. The homeless shelter had BROOKE ENGLISH HOMELESS SHELTER written on the front in neon lights. She only showed up long enough to get praise, then left the rest to Grace. She went out drinking with Marian, although she saw Marian as beneath her. It was a lot of trashy fun.

That's a fascinating story. I'm glad she seemed like a nice person. Was she British?

Thanks. I never do find a good jumping on point with SB. They keep adding some of the fairly early episodes, but I always seem to have something else to watch. I did watch some of the Mason/Mary stuff.

It was very nice to see Michael and Brad - it was very reassuring, and although at the time this was seen as sexless and stale, now I can respect how tough it must have been for AMC to even get this on the air at all. There were one or two very short side stories which also reflected the everyday difficulties of being gay, like Brad talking about how he'd recently lost some patients once they found out about his homosexuality. Brad will also always be remembered by me for his role in that Brooke English "choose your own adventure" online game, where she got drunk and became convinced she could turn him (he dropped her off at home and got the hell out of there).

Before being cast as Alicia Grande on OLTL in late 1988/early 1989, Marcia McCabe said she'd auditioned for several other soap roles post-Search. I think they were GL, AW, ATWT. SOD said there were rumors AW didn't cast her because they didn't want viewers to be reminded of her relationship with Hogan (David Forsyth, John on AW).

I'd like to see that. I wonder why they didn't cast her when Cindy left (or was she still on ATWT at that point).

Earl was on several soaps in these years I think he was on The Doctors). They said he was in a chalet in Norway or somewhere and had to be called in quickly for the temp role.

Anything with Hunt Block Craig I would say is downhill.

The first was Antoinette Byron or something like that.

The third. She's worked in a fair amount of Canadian-filmed TV. I watched an episode of that Flash Gordon pap to see how she was.

I loved her at the time. I'd still like to see her as Skye, although that will never happen, unless she befriends JFP.
